heh… Hurricanes/typhoons are a bane to me. Especially when they're category 5… the last one that hit years ago tore my house apart and blew off the concrete roof off the gymnasium of a local high school and snapped concrete telephone poles in two. Even a warehouse with metal a I-beam frame was twisted beyond recognition.

Apparenlty the Sun is partly to blame for this since about 20% of the global warming phenomenon is caused by it (or so The Universe from the History Channel says). Once we get to Solar Maximum we can expect more storms, I think. I just hope we don't get hit with a massive Coronal Mass Ejection…

It's nice to see you get to keep your job, HV. :)

wow… now I'm tempted to repaint your avatar so it looks like the Mystery Machine. I was actually hoping that in the next Transformers Movie coming out Megatron would transform into The Mystery Machine. Frank Welker would've probably had fun with that one. But instead he gets to tranform into a Mack Truck with lots of weapons mounted on it…

Heh… 3D rendering is hard. I've been experimenting on and off with the Blender program. But for now I think I'll stick to 2D images while playing around with the Darkbasic Pro programming language.

Hurricanes are by far the worst for me. During Rita it was four weeks of no power and even longer with no running water, all the while it was in the 90's (Fareheight). Whole towns went missing during that storm. In fact, everything south of Hackberry was gone. Trees, buildings, bayou…. Acres and acres of nothing but mud.

I was down in biloxi for katrina/rita. The funnest part was staying in a 2 story cat 2 shelter. I slept under tables, because i could hear the roof falling apart above me. Even better, all the officers/high ranking enlisted made us low ranking scum move all our stuff upstairs. then the downstairs flooded…mwhahahahaha.

Everyone flipped shit when they heard rita was coming. then it missed us, and we got 2 days of england like weather. (soggy and gray)

The first night after the hurricane we were walking back to our dorms, in total darkness, and then BAM BAM BAM. gunshots. i guess raiding parties were trying to get on base, and got in a shoot out with security forces. don't know how that turned out.

They let as many civilians as they could on base to stay in the dorms. then those civilians started having drug parties. they all got kicked out immediately. no chance to clean up. so they sent us to clean it up. disgusting. but plenty of free electronics.

I'm too young to remember hurricane andrew, other than hiding in a closet for a full day, with 6 of us. don't know how we all fit. and that's the reason my grandparents used to move to arkansas.

wow… Minecraft looks like an awefully tempting game to play… especially after seeing this megaproject…

Youtube: USS Enterprise D in Minecraft

However, I won't let myself play this game because after watching the video I got very VERY dizzy… like the time I first tried out the original Wolfenstein game. Ugh…

Anyways, if I ever did try this game I'd go and build myself the Enterprise NX since that would be a smaller project. :)

I have been experimenting with a 3D rendering program this week, and my respect for the artists at Pixar has exponentially grown. I'm not used to this media, and it really shows. A couple more days of this and I'm taking my wounded ego and running straight back to Photoshop where I belong.

What program were you using? Some are harder than others but regardless it's a steep learning curve at first.

AW YEAH, Going to go to Iornfest this year in Lithgow next month. Apparently its gone steampunk this year, I cannot wait to dress up in my top hat and monocle for this event :D

——–

On another note, I saw a sign while driving that said "Falling rocks, do not stop." Exceept someone had gone over it with a permenant marker and made it "Falling cocks, do not flop."

Many a laugh was exchanged between me and my mother.

Man can i get a bit of winter over here? I'm cooking at 99 degrees F. Humid nights have got to be the worse of the bunch.

"Oh man," I'd proclaim, "I've got to stop and get a picture of-"

and then would come the rocks

you can have it. it may not even hit 70*f here before sunday. that's a damn shame.

fffffuuuuu… i have a kidney stone. i can't do my actual job for 60 days ish. and even then, there has to be a waiver. then i have to do yearly check ups.

If i can't get the waiver, i can't do my current job, and i can't train into what i've been trying for, for years now.
the only upside i see to that, is i can get out and finally grow a beard, and grow my hair out longer than ozone's.

I just walked home (the end of my road) from where the bus dropped me off (the beginning of my road).

I am very sweaty and WAS…am…full of pee.

My friend's feeling suicidal for no reason. His bitch of a girlfriend dumped him and he still loved her for no reason so when she hooked up again (with a fucking eighth grader, mind you) he doesn't think he has a reason to live.

…So he's being a tard…

…And I still have to pee…

I think the job loss thing has finally sunk in - I feel myself slowly being enveloped by a dark cloud of hopelessness and despair. Hope there's something good on the telly. :)

Speaking of joblessness, the new(ish) full-timer at work isn't being hired by the new franchisee. Apparently she didn't take too well to that information and decided she's not coming in for her shifts over the next week. Also, her landlord decided to sell the house she's living in, so she has no place to stay either. I feel absolutely terrible for her. : (

oh man I'm so excited. I actually have 15 pre-orders for my print comic.

That's, like, nothing compared to what I assume most people get but I'm still stoked. <<

I wish i ddi stop, but it was on a narrow road on a cliff, so I couldn't.

Olivia Lee! Ha! I only remember her from Balls of Steel where she did "Prank TV" and just pissed off everyone she was around. I think that's all she knows how to do.

One of the other part-timers didn't get hired either. : (
I'm really happy that I still have a job, and really excited for the changes to the store, but I feel so guilty.
Also, a friend of mine pointed out today that we only have two weeks until our history exam, and now I'm a little freaked out.

In happier news, my bunny is adorable. She's taken to doing this thing where she comes and headbutts/nibbles my leg, then runs off and around in a little circle, then comes back and does it again. It's taken me a longer time to build a bond with her than with my other animals, but it's definitely paid off in cuteness. Maybe eventually I can even teach her not to eat all of my belongings. :P

Maybe you can teach her to balance things on her head?

Yep. I turned 40 today. All I have to do now is to keep away those thoughts that I'm old. All I gotta do is think as though I'm a young man, do things young men do (that don't involve women and alcohol anyway), and be as active as I can possibly be. Yeah… that's it…

Ow! My back… T_T

Happy Birthday Lonnehart.

I've been playing chess with my husband lately. I've yet to beat him a single time. It's starting to create something of a pavlov affect in me - every time I see him go to the bookshelf and reach for the chess board, part of me wants to break out in a cold sweat and hide in the corner.

I'm beginning to seriously resent this game.

I'm frustrated. I've found three new comics on Drunk Duck today. I was very excited with all three of them…until I realized that all three had stopped updating years ago. I hate that.

Happy Birthday Lonnehart.

Thanks. It's not fun feeling my age, but I've still got some time left anyway. Probably too late to start a family though. Enjoy the family you have now. It'll be worth it later when you grow old together with your husband. :)

Heh… you know your husband better than me. I suggest trying to anticipate him several moves in advance. It can be pretty hard to do but once you're able to do that you should have a reasonable chance at beating him. :)

So the job has been calling and calling to ask me to come in and cover another shift.
So let's see it's a beautiful day, and I work overnights. What makes you think I will answer the phone in the middle of the afternoon?

Especially since I have caller-ID and know who your are and what you want to ask and that you'll wheedle and beg and cajole and will not take "no" for answer?

In the choice between my mental health and making $9 an hour dealing with 300 60+ year old children I choose my mental health. I can deal with $9 an hour when they're all asleep between midnight and 8 am but not when they're all up and one or two have to make a scene.

I worked the extra shift on Monday and lost all of Tuesday due to mental exhaustion. There is a lot of crap that went on and I'm cool and calm in the moment but once I get home I fell apart.

And right now I'm so confused and dizzy that I can't get any of subjects and verbs to agree and I'm forgetting words to type.

I noticed you even commented on one of mine yesterday, but it was the dead one, not the active one. You're like Bruce Willis in that movie where everywhere he looks he sees dead people: everywhere you look, you read dead comics!
