Has anyone ever started a page and then about halfway through thought, "Why the hell did I think this was a good idea?"

That's where I'm at right now with a double splash page with over 50 plus individual characters (including zombies) and I'm going out of my mind trying to color it! AAAAAGH!

Heh. Only like, every page! Crosshatching = inefficient.

Right now I'm workin' on a bunch of pages with frickin' nature and crap. Like rocks and grass and landscapes. Boooooooring. Plus, there's water. Water sucks.

A friend of mine (who appears in the comic) asked me a few days ago if I regretted doing it in color. I looked up at him, dead in his eyes and replied "Yes. Every fucking day."

Hah! Same here… I do plan on doing more color work but other than three longer books (projected as 200, 300 and 666 pages, haha) everything else will be max 52 page oneshot… Oh yeah, and then there's going to be the two series of separate stories (as oneshots) that might run up to 5-7 52-pagers in total (per series).

But I'm totally reworking Din Krakatau as b^&w so I can continue it with further 14 volumes and of course this vampire thing I'm writing right now will be 500 pages of b&w goodness (at least I hope it'll qualify as goodness)…

wait… oh crap, that's still about 2500 pages in color if I add up all of these!!!
The 666 pager is supposed to adapt my "epic novel", the 300 pager will be 6 oneshots spanning decades of history (and it's supposed to be my "love letter" to all the european fantasy/artsy comics so it has to be color) and the 200 pager is going to be my "color experimentation" thing… one of the oneshot serials grew from reading old pulp stories (and the main character is a redhead so I thought color would be nice… oh yeah, and it happens on the sea so WATER WATER LOTS OF WATER TO DRAW) and the final serial is my "visual kei inspired" thing so it'll have to be colorful too… and then a bunch of oneshots that are various sf, fantasy, fairytale, horror tales…

But still, 2500 pages in color?!?!?! I must be out of my mind… *goes to cry in the corner*

I'm not even mentioning all the b&w projects that sit in the idea folders…

Shoot, son- if we're countin' "idea folders", I'd be in deep trouble!

Mine: Epic, hand-inked/ sepia-toned washes, set in early 20th century America. Not even an "alternate" America, where I could get away with fudging stuff like costumes, trucks, and current events. I'm startin' the research 10 years early. And should probably learn to do ink washes between now and then. ;)

I call them idea folders cause they have only plot outlines, half-written scripts and stacks of notes… I'm not even counting 30-40 other "ideas" that sit as a paragraph or two :P

My "color" epic deals with the war between heaven and hell and I want it to be fully digitally painted (but I'm not good enough at this point + certain themes have been covered by me in other scripts already and I have to do extensive rewrites).

I'm not even mentioning my "fantasy" epic which… ok, this is a dream that probably will never be realized (unless I achieve "osamu tezuka speed of drawing", which is roughly twice the "jack kirby speed of drawing", haha) but the idea revolves around telling a history of a fantasy world in 300 page volumes. Each volume would tell a 120 page story from the past (retelling the chronicles of the first race up to the point of the arrival of humans), second story would focus on a "bad" emperor-type guy from the day of the all-continental human empire (and would be 60 pages) and the third one would focus on a "modern day" hero type who would be actualyl somehow related to his "evil emperor" ancestor… sort of opposites, also a 60 pager in each volume and the last remaining 60 pages for other stories filling the gaps, jumping in time, retelling fables or religious stories of this world etc.

So yeah, I win the crazy idea contest :D

I guess because it looks better in color. That and I don't want to disappoint my readers by switching to black and white; I feel like it'd be a step down and a let down for everyone. 'Sides, a bit of hard work is all I have to look forward to sometimes, if that makes any sense.

Hyena, I could have sworn I saw a girl today at my bus-stop not even 30 minutes ago that looks like you kinda.
You don't happen to live in Michigan, do you?

And, I kind of talked to that really hot girl today.
Why am I so damn shy!?!

Haha! Is this the award ceremony? *pulls out a piece of paper from the pocket, pretends to be reading*

I would like to thank my hyperactive imagination for ruining my life and not allowing me any other path than a creative one.

:D

So far 18 pages today and it doesn't look like I'll make more than that… The closer I get to the ending, the more new ideas pop up, twisting it around, making it something else than I planned, so I had to slow down and pay more attention to what I'm doing. After all, a book needs some kind of an ending that makes sense, right? I'm not making a David Lynch graphic novel after all :)

Edit: last minute burst of creativity brought it up to 33 pages, finishing today's work on 437 pages (one more short scene and chapter 11 will be wrapped up) and then it'll be followed by an epilogue… so soon I'll be done with the book :D

So today this guy said that he had a secret. I was like Oo ooh! I want to know the secret! So he came over to me and told me to lean my ear over so he could tell me but instead he KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK! I was like *blinkblink* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGH! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST DID THAT! The principal walks by: "Bonjour, ladies and gentlemen." "AAAAAGgghh…erm…hello."
Apparently this guy does that to everyone, so I kind of wished someone would have warned me. That was rather unpleasant.

Oh, and I had my first in-car driving lesson today. Vroom vroom. I think I did okay, but I noticed about halfway through that I was pressing my left foot really hard into the ground, and when I switched with my driving partner I also noticed I had been sweating a lot. Guess I was a bit nervous, heh. And then I nearly had a heart attack when the other girl was driving…she had a habit of waiting until the very last second to stop.

Its a disinfo site.

Good then you're falling for it. You see if your target thinks something is disinformation then the disinformation campaign is effective because the true disinformation is then fed to the sources your target trusts. The sources now discredited as "disinformation" are then fed the correct intelligence.

Win-win situation. Those intell guys are smart huh? And you conspiracy theory types always fall for it. Every time. Though I have to say the MiB gag is getting tired; everybody wants to play Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

And then you show them precisely what is going on and they still don't buy it because the disinformation has worked so well they no longer trust any source of information. So they're off looking under their bed for the reptiods and the Illuminati and you can crash top secret satillites left and right and fly stealth planes all over and they'll always see flying saucers. lol!

Ugh. My mom is making me pretty much re-draw a whole part of Draycho's past. I can kind of understand in a way, I won't even say it here. But she doesn't seem to understand that it's all fiction.

I was really pissed about it yesterday, but today, I don't mind as much. Because the other way I came up with to do this, I think she'll agree on. And for some reason, it just seems like it would fit better. Plus, I can put a little bit more of information in here.

And, I get to play tic-tac-toe with that hot girl today.
I'm making my way up, very slowllyyyy 8D

Okay, so I'm gettin' a bunch of referrals from a facebook user, but I can't scope it out since I'm not a member of that evil, image-stealing, identity fraud accusin' conglomerate.

What do you want done? I'm one of them there boomers who have taken over facebook from the teenagers. Heck I reconnected with a pile of HS friends. They're all married and successful (with teenaged children that they stole facebook from…) and I'm… a… security guard? WHERE DID I GO WRONG?????? lol!

So I started phototgraphing the next scene and it's wonderful! I love doing scenes with the EVIL characters. Black leather, big ass swords, undead knights, Rutger Hauer, Satanic heraldry, human sacrifice, crazed white haired witches… I love it.
