'Good-snook'

I'm pretty terrible at pronouncing things. I always try to pronounce them as they're written, which is usually wrong.

@ skullbie's new villain: viva españa!

@ the whole… Lba thing: my mind was just blown. I thought it was iba. like, the spanish 3rd/1st person imperfect of the verb "ir"… I assumed he was some sort of romance-language aficionado.

I wonder how you guys pronounce my last name in your heads… (or aloud, quietly, urgently, in bed at night…)
So thaaaaaaat's why I pronounce it "iba". Frickin' Spanish.

Me sayin' your name: "GUD-snuck". Rymes with mud-duck.

Emphasis on the first syllable. Because for some reason that's how I pronounce everything; like, puttin' super emphasis where it ought not be, almost like it's another word… Like "PO-lice", or "DE-troit", or my alma mater, "TU-lane". I wonder if it's a regional dialect thing, or just a personal problem?

You're the weirdest name i mind-pronounce, it sounds nothing like you spelled it lol 'oh-nit-choo-kai', i got hyena-hell right though because she mentioned it before x]
What a coincidence, oh-nit-choo-kai is my Indian name. Also I'm intensely impressed by the foreshortening of that bull/arm thing in the last panel.

…Definitely thinking "gud-snuck," btw. Probably wrong.

It's too fucking hot.

It was a bit cooler today here in that London - I joining you in the weather chat because we're British. Did you say you were from Macclesfield?

Just in case there's any doubt, my username is pronounced L. Ron Scarf, just like L. Ron Hubbard, but you already knew that.

It was a bit cooler here for a while because it rained, but it was humid again by the time afternoon rolled around. At least there were less loud children and loud chavs and loud lawnmowers though.

I'm not sure where you got Macclesfield from. I'm in the same county, but on the opposite end of it. I think so anyway, I'm not actually sure how far to the East Cheshire stretches.

Edit: My research into Macclesfield has just lead to discover this:

about El-Bah.
I've always mind pronounced that 'el bee aye', unlike 'duh-jab' 'key-you-pole' and 'em-lai'.

Wonder if i'm the only person that does that….x)
I think I would do that if it were all caps. I say "Ee-bah", even though I've known for quite some time it's an "L", and I'm pretty sure that there aren't too many "I"-words that sound like that…

But I didn't always know about the L. - I sent him some CDs and put "IBA" on the mailer. Oops.

I think Skull and Oz are the only people who made a habit of pronouncing it or mindthinking it with the L. I never really made a big deal about it just because nobody ever actually speaks it here and the initial meaning of it is kind of lost to the past anyway. Heck, I had to go back and look to see if you really did. I just accept it both ways.

Coffee? Well I don't usually drink it because caffeine makes me twitchy but…what the heck. Just this once, right before bedtime, why that's a wonderful idea! I have awesome judgement.

Oooh, also, I got to go driving on the perimeter today(big highways n stuff). It was so much fun! Vroom vroom, hippie got to drive fast!
Tomorrow I'll be going through Confusion Corner…I don't think I have to explain that one. It's named that for a reason. Should be interesting if I don't hit anything.

One time someone said, "Kristen… Gdansk?"

lol.

yup, it's GUH-dz-nuhk. skullbie, you got it on your second try, and hyena, your tendency to emphasize the first syllable in words has done you good.

So I was looking through my old journals to find things to put in the "see your improvement over the years!" thread, and I found this:

My mom doesn't get why I think it's hilarious… (perhaps because I'm laughing at her expense?) but I mean, who writes this kinda shit in their 8-year-old's diary…?

Wait.
You were only 8 when you wrote that!?!

I don't even write like that now!!!!

Jeez.

——————————

Today was okay. Besides the whole feeling sick thing.
And I got further on Psychonauts. But as of right now, it's making me angry, so I gave up.

And I finally found out what I should do with my Chapter Page. And I'm penciling it right now. After I finish said penciling, I shall sleep.

After sleep, I shall awake, and pretty much do what I did today, all over again.
Except, on Thursday.

And I just realized I forgot to take out the trash.
Ugh.

Which bit? There were a few bastard parts, if I recall. Mostly when I was trying to collect everything.

El-Bah can read your mind.

Hee hee, I like the 'L' version much more. It makes me think of some kind of Spanish, grumpiness themed super hero.

Something very strange just happened. The phone rang, and I answered it, thinking it would just be my aunt or one of my brothers friends or something, but it was far more hilarious than that. Here's how the conversation went (names withdrawn to protect the innocent, also the crazy lady):

Me: Hello?

Creepy Runescape Person (CRP): Hi, is this [brother's name]?

Me: No.

CRP: Oh. Who is this then?

Me: Someone else.

CRP: Is this [my name]?

Me: Uh. . . yeah.

CRP: My name is [her name, which I didn't actually hear properly] from Denmark. Could you get your brother for me please?

At first I'd assumed it was someone from his school, but the Denmark thing threw me off. Who the hell was this?

Me: Yeah ho- wait, Denmark? You're not a creepy Runescape person are you?

CRP: No. Lying cow

Me: Are you a Runescape person of any description?

CRP(beginning to sound a bit pissed off): No, I'm not a Runescape person of any description.

Me: Fine. Hold on, I'll get him.

Walked upstairs

Me: Some lady from Denmark wants to talk to you. I think she's a Creepy Runescape Person.

Him: She is, hang up.

Me: Ok.

Downstairs again

Me: Yeah, hi. He says you are a CRP and that I should hang up. I'm going to do that now.

CRP: Wait wai-

Me(trying to get the phone to realise that it's on the hook): Fuck, I hate it when it does this. Sorry. Why did I say sorry? I have no fucking idea.

CRP: Can I just say one thing?

Me: No. I'm going to unplug the phone or something now. Bye.

I didn't get to the plug, which is . . . somewhere, but she must have got the hint because when I checked the phone again she was gone.

Then I laughed, very loudly, and disturbed the neighbours.

Somehow my mobile number got on some scammer's mailing list… it shows up as an 800 number (which aren't free to call in the UK) and the person who answers says he's so-and-so from some large company like Virgin (which people are likely to have an account with) and he needs to check some account information. If you let him, he'll just make something up which will be wrong… Not sure what happens after that because I stopped him there. I think they're just trying to keep you on the phone (maybe they can charge you back somehow?) At any rate it surely isn't legit.

After it happened once I bitched them out and it didn't happen again… but the last 2 days I've gotten the same calls from 3 different numbers. >:[

I got a weird call yesterday. I said hello 5 times before anyone spoke, and then this guy started talking very quickly in another language, which I had no idea what it was (something Arabic, I think). I had no clue what to do. I said he had the wrong number. He kept talking and talking, and I just hung up. (Honestly, what else could I do? o_0 )

Phone scams

Some of these are priceless. I actually found a message on my answerthingy yesterday which said:

"Please call us and leave your name and address so we can remove you from our database".

Naturally, I denounced 'em, dunked 'em in the river and burned 'em at the stake -put a couple of burgers on there too cos the weather is so nice right now.

Good news everyone! I ordered some ceylon cinnamon chocolate from the internet the other day and it arrived today….. so now I have 6 amazingly delicious chocolate bars just waiting to be et.

However cinnamon chocolate is most delicious when only eating 1 or 2 squares so I don't think there's much danger of my eating them too quickly.

Today I have to do my annual job self-review. Boring stuff. I will have to try not to make myself look too great because I have to improve on whatever I did for next year… on the other hand I have to make myself look great enough to make it into the 'might be given a bonus' boxes. It's a fine line!

Anyway since I am working from home today I am totally gonna make sketty for lunch.

So, yesterday was a successful "reference drawing" day :D

Not only the horses came out good, but also the lion-headed guy too. It's kinda funny… you think you know how a lion looks like, but then you look at photos and it's all "whoah, it looks nothing like I thought" moment.

Anyway, three pages again, total 13 drawn. No matter what I do, I can't get close to four, so I guess I can add another month or month and a half to the projected lenght of drawing.

Dear Future Version of Me,
I hope you made some good choices for yourself, and still have some friends around for
it. ( After all…our pipe dream was to be a jetsetter or president. ha )
Hopfully you at least have a girlfriend ( Or guy) now, and haven\'t turned back into
the \'annoying freshman\' or something.
Always keep it real and try to stop rolling your eyes at how stupid this letter sounds
now. Make something of yourself and I look foreword to being you one day-

Therapy and library. I searched the library online and wouldn't you know the ost interesting book is only available as an audio book? Three copies no less.

Can't believe I've shot two thirds of the guilty pleasure exploitation movie already. lol! And lots of blood. Blood and boobs. Gotta love it. lol!

And the rewrite seems to be getting longer. Textual context. huh!?
Have to answer the plot questions so it makes sense. As if anything in the unreadable mediocrity that is Go a Viking makes sense to anyone.

cinnamon
I love cinnamon … SO one day I bought a very large bag of it. I made this weird thing out of coconut cream that goes solid if you put it in the fridge. It had sugar, sultanas, apricot, and a lot of cinnamon…

TOO much cinnamon. T_T
A cinnamon overdose even makes the smell turn soapy, let alone the taste. Ugh!
I suspected it might have been the fatty cocnut cream stuff, so I tried again with extreme cinnamon on a cake with melted butter and brown sugar on top.
Ick. -_-
A little cinnamon in that way is ymmy, too much and it's disgusting. :(
