They're 17 i think, or well a few months away from finishing high school.

————-

So i'm getting pretty fast with my pages now, The sketching phase usually takes me about 25 minutes and the inking a couple hours. Of course i haven't been coloring them or toning.

On the downside i keep starting comics and stopping after a few pages T_T I even think the ideas are cool i just hop to something else for no reason whatsoever. Maybe i could be all badass and jungle 4-5 different projects/styles…
That'll never ever happen, but still.

Try finding ways to incorporate all those ideas into your main comic?

Woke up this morning and heard my mom in the next room complaining about the way I dress. I must be such an embarassment. What will our relatives in England think? Even better, my dad was just sitting there going mhm, mhm. Way to stand up for me, dad. I'm going to have so much self-confidence when I go to London now!

Funny story. There was a video tape that I have been look for for a long time. On it was a tribute that the Muppet Workshop made to Jim Henson shortly after he died. I have been trying to find the tape for over a year now.

Last week, my old desktop was transferred into my brothers room since I don't use it as much as he could. This cleared up a lot of space and revealed some old video tapes that we were loading on to our computer so they could be preserved digitally. And guess what was at the top of the stack? That tape.

I had turned my house upside down twice looking through every single video tape and it was stacked up somewhere on my desk the whole time.

I don't know if I should feel stupid or happy that I finally saw the tape again and that I now know where to find the show on youtube.

Re Dressing in England: Don't worry about it. Be yourself. You can just be the stereotypical Amercican (right?) that wears what they want and don't care.

Canadian. ;)

As to dress, Niccea's right, dress the way you want Hippie. The poms aren't really going to mind. There'll be people exactly your age dressing the same way anyway.

I've been to 5 different countries in my life and the only one I really stood out in was China. (And that is for obvious reasons.) I saw some Brits when I was in Nice and they looked like members from my tour group. (I even thought they were until I heard the accent) So yeah. Be yourself.

Thanks guys…of course that's what I'm going to do, I'm not going to go buy a different wardrobe that my mom will like better. I've just got enough things to be stressed out about. I don't think my clothing should be one of them.

I told my mom that I had been awake when she said that and had heard it and that it made me mad, and she just said that she doesn't know what I'm upset about - she was just stating the facts.

I would just give you the advice of not wearing anything too ratty or "extreme," ya know?

Well today is shaping up to be very good day. I found something better after that videotape.

I'm moving in with my boyfriend today. Now this has been planned for several months, but my parents have never approved of it. Last week my dad resignedly said that I was 21 and they legally had no more control over what I did with my life. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but it is better than nothing. My mom on the other hand, has not made my life a living hell, but has made it close enough.

There are two people I never talked about this to. And they are my Mama and Papa (mom's parents). The main reason for this is because Papa has an extensive collection of shot guns and we were afraid that he might point one at my boyfriend if he found out that we were going to be living together.

Knowing that I never talked to Mama and Papa, mom, secretly went over there to complain about what is going on. She doesn't like the fact I'm moving before marrying, she thinks it is morally wrong, etc. And my grandparents, to sum it up, told her to stop being a prude and let me make my own choices. Never expected that to happen.

But then again, my Mama has always been on the loose side. She used to own a lingerie store if that is any indicator. I've had tube tops and bikinis from her since I was ten.

In more ways than one. Papa uses a computer better than my mom. (Though we are still struggling with instructing him on the finer aspects of the DVD player)

I don't…except for my funny hat, which my mom actually found, I dress like anyone else my age if a little more modestly.
I think she just wants me to be like my older sister…dressing up all the time, doing my hair, having tons of friend, full IB blah blah blah.

Your parents do sound really old-fashioned, yikes. Make sure to buy your grandparents some really nice christmas presents this year! Haha.

Ah yeah. My mom argued with my dad about my name cuz she couldn't see it printed out on a cheerleader bag. She wanted a Bethany to lead the high school in cheers. Instead she got a Clara that hung with the goths and the drum line and stole the cheerleaders' pompoms.

And they still don't like the fact that I waste my time drawing and comicing…though mom is starting to come around once I showed her my portfolio.

Hahahaha!

Clara is a much more interesting name than Bethany. Everyone's named Bethany. Even Oz.

I am so sick today. It's either swine flu or food poisoning. Or any of the other things that are all like swine flu or food poisoning.

So i couldn't think of comics to fill in like 80% of the DD awards, so I'm just opening threads here and listing from the comics i see in banners. I guess it's a good way to pretend i'm community oriented, until y'know, it's pointed out i've opened Bravo's comic like once and listed it as best photo >.>

Hmm who has a sprite comic….

Just so you know, that's dad speak for "You are insane Vader, and your plan is evil, but ultimately we will defeat you by pretending to agree with everthing you say - that is the nature of the force".

Take it from one who knows!

Edit: my now deleted sprite comic is legendary.

For the awards, I just took all of my very favouritest comics and tried to find a category for each of them. I had something for most, still had a few missing though, like sprite comic.
