My rant: My short hair now refuses to make a fauxhawk.
This is a blessing in disguise. Fauxhawks don't look cool on anyone. (sorry)
My rant is the way girl's clothes are made these days. It is impossible to find a nice baggy-ish sweater because everything is made to be as tightly to your body as possible, and I feel weird buying things in clothing sizes that are obviously way too big for me. And when I finally give up and decide fine, I will wear a form-fitting hoodie, I can't do that either because they are all made for flat-chested girls. So I end up having to get a size bigger than I should be and it looks ridiculous because it's all baggy about my stomach but not on top. :(

I just got a guy's hoodie instead.
You could shop in the "misses" section instead of the "juniors". Usually those clothes are cut a bit roomier.
Roomie clothes suck. That used to be all I wore before I finally worked out they made me look like a scarecrow suffering from AIDS in Ethiopia during the famine. Hanging off me… Ew. You don't need something tight, but go for something that fits :)
My favorite part is the rollovers + that small tab jutting out the side.
Looks brilliant SKull! No BG? No worries, works nicely anyway! groovy. I hope you get in the big pageviews! Don't forget us when you're famous!

Thank all the gods in Asgard! The only cure for one of those is decapitation. :(
Why is it that when you work a long 12 hour shift everything has to happen all at once in the last two hours? Sure it makes you feel more alive and I meet it with the eternal calm of the true warrior and always manage to be in the exact right place at the exact right time like Wellington at Waterloo, but all at once?
Well, at least it gave me ten uninterrupted hours to work on my comic and catch up on my reading. ;)
Apparently they've closed down all the buses in London and other places because of all the snow. It's really light up here, but that lot down south are having sucky weather because they suck, hah.
I feel depressed today for no reason. I wanted to stay in bed but decided to get up and get busy to maybe feel better, so I dusted my room, did laundry, bathed my cat, and cleaned a cage. I'm still depressed. Think I'll go back to bed.
My throat hurts. I don't know why, but it started last evening and got really bad this morning… so I ended up eating a lot of icecream which helped a bit, but not entirely.
I'm cooking a pork tenderloin right now. It's two and a half lbs.- way too much food for two people. I wish I was allowed to invite people over. Mmm, dinner party! Oh well, at least I'll have leftovers for sandwiches this week. I also wish I had cash to run to the store and get stuff for scalloped potatoes, but I guess I can make do with rice.
I finished coloring my cover for Ch. 2 today. Uhg! Colored pencils take forever! But I discovered "colorless blending" pencils, and now I'm a new woman.
I got a late X-mas gift of a vintage hat- which coincidentally goes perfectly with my 40's style pencil skirt suit that I'm wearing to the wedding! There's a silver band on the hat, and the blazer has these big silver/ rhinestone buttons. Now I don't have to wear my "funeral hat". And I found an old pair of heels that I thought I'd lost (also 40's style, with the sweet rounded toe), so I'm no longer shoeless for that event. I'm-a look sharp!
Riiight. That was a bit much, eh? Can you tell I have no one to talk to in, um, "real life"? ;)
I hate colored pencils. I have always done the acrylic paint thing and a friend recommended that I try pencils. She is a master and her work looks sooo good I thought I would give it a shot. Damn, my hand cramped trying to get the colors blended correctly (using a blending pencil).. ugh. Anyway, needless to say, I abandoned my jumbo box of colored pencils (prismacolor) and went back to acrylics (and markers as needed). :D
You can always call me, I'm a good listener. At least I think I've been told that :P
Later my friend…

Here's a rant for anyone with a few minutes to waste.
Today's been a slow day at the office, where I spent most of it looking up "you know you're from XXXXXX when" posts across various boards. Then, with one hour left, a new case lands in my lap. Of course, I have to see the children at school before I visit them at the home, but it's 3:30, which means school just got out. The case came in at 8:00 this morning. I know my bosses are busy, but why does it always take at least 6 hours to two days to read a report and then give it to someone? Now one of my three days to make initial contact is wasted, and further I get off in half an hour so even if I did go I wouldn't get home for another three hours.
Moreover, in this job, we get reports on the same 40 or 50 families time and again. The same family is reported to have a messy house where the kids are all starving and dying of headlice and rat infestations. The houses are a little dirty but this is the south. Come on. And when you go to these people's houses, they're not upset because they've been accused of wronging their kids, they're upset because they just had a case two months ago.
Seriously, we need to do a PSA stating "THIS IS THE STANDARD OF LIVING" in this country, and it's a lot lower than people think. Children wearing shoes a size too small or coming to class dirty does not constitute child abuse (okay so it might be an indicator of larger issues if it's part of a pattern).
But then you get the bad cases where this three year old has 15 fractures from where a parent threw them *through* a wall, or the dad who takes a razor to his son's arms as punishment. What's WRONG with these people? But you have to stop and think, not everyone in the world is as well raised and well adjusted as you yourself are. You really are in many cases dealing with the true deviants of society. And you do everything you can to help these people, and you try every concievable way to keep this family together, but honestly, sometimes love isn't enough, and sometimes there's no love at all. A lot of people love their kids but they can't rightly care for them. So now we've got kids in foster care, three days in court, and nobody's happy, and now nobody at the agency can eat at McDonald's anymore because they'll put rat poop in your hamburger.
I wonder sometimes whether or not what we do makes any difference, but then I think of the kids we rescued from genuinely frakked up homes, and that makes the rest of the crap worthwhile. Most of the time.
You can always call me, I'm a good listener. At least I think I've been told that :P
… sounds like you weren't listening. lol!
Looks like we have to stay home tomorrow and build their snow relations too - oh pleasey please please let me get back to work!
Sounds like you aren't too keen on snowpeople!
I drove in to work this morning and didn't see what the big deal was. Almost no one else was there and my meeting was cancelled. Normally I am happy as pie to miss a meeting, but this particular meeting involved getting my job ranked into a higher pay bracket. T_T Who knows when it will get rescheduled? So I went back home and caught a nap.
Earlier tonight I had to keep a quick appointment, and because only morons drive on snowy roads faster than 5mph, my car got pelted with snowballs by a large gathering of neighborhood teens. I actually didn't mind that much, snowballs ain't going to hurt a car. Good ol' English Youths! They were slipping around on the road though, I was worried about hitting one of them.
Tomorrow I'll be working from home anyway so I'm not too bothered. I have a lot of stuff to do. :[
I wish I had snow. :( Do you know how horrible it is to drink hot tea on a steamy day?
Drinking tea is sweaty torture. And yet I'm compelled to do it! but it's oh so lovely… Yet very uncomfortable. -_-
Heh. I drink hot coffee in 100 degree heat. And like it. ;) Well, I'm probably just being nostalgic; I definitely remember bitching about not being able to drink coffee without sweating profusely in the not-so-distant past. It's probably just because we don't have heat here, so my coffee gets cold two minutes after I pour it.
Atheism isn't working for me…I think I'll try Bokonism…I mean, with mainstream religions everybody is like, "Oh, your religion sucks cause you don't believe in Jesus!" But with Bokonism, nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about…And that's how I roll…B)

I don't like melting from heat, but I'd rather use a fan and be uncomfortable than artificially frozen in a stuffy office… Plus, it's a massive waste of power!
About to reprise an old trade mag strip I drew in the mid nineties - the mag is now a website - so I'm trawling the internet for fonts that look like my old hand lettering because I don't want to go through that process anymore. God knows how many I've looked at and downloaded and ditched - I've been at it for days, when it suddenly occurs to me I can just take my old lettering and turn it into a digital font. I mean,
Duh……..
