Why does everyone like anime nowadays? Back in my day, we had shows like
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack on Cartoon Network! Catch new episodes at 8:30pm Eastern and Pacific Times on Har Har Tharsdays. That's Thursdays at 8:30 right after new episodes of Chowder only on Cartoon Network. Buy DVDs only on www.cartoonnetwork.com. Buy season one Flapjack and Chowder DVDs now before we sell out!

So a few days ago, I flipped back to Cartoon Network to see if any of the good classic ones were on, like "Tom & Jerry" or something.

To my surprise, I found live-action stuff. Not movies, shows. Original shows for Cartoon Network, that aren't cartoons.

Considering that's just about all I watched in my childhood, and now they've went and ruined it.
I'm pissed.

I didn't work last night because of my face, but I have to work tomorrow and I'm not sure it's going to look much better. I'm afraid they'll send me home. There's not much I can do about it, it just bums me out. I need the money.

oh god, I hate flatting soooo much. Ok, the panel with lots of buildings was fine (straight lines and/or closed shapes = easy). But that one with those 100-200 tiny bits of [something censored not to spoil the story yet] flyingthrough the panels? argh I say, ARGH! not to mention the shortcuts I did on some of the crowds, heh. Should look fine when finished though :D

at least I hope so…

In other news: there are no other news, I've spent the last few days in photoshop and I'm sick of it :P

WHAT THE HELL MACS?!

Seriously, I freakin' made my last project on one of the school Macs because it had a cintiq I wanted to play with. I got everything set up just the way I want, and took the first printing for this greeting card design to the print shop and used their PC to print it. Colours came out perfect. They matched what was on the screen of both the Mac and the PC perfectly. Now, I print from a Mac to the same printer on the exact same paper, everything but the computer is the same and I get these goofed up, toned down, brownish/red colours. The colour profile is supposed to be set to the same profile as the schools because this print shop services our school so much being right next door. So the only thing that I can come up with that's different between the Mac and PC printings is just that, that one was a Pc and the other a Mac.

This isn't the first time this has happened either, I always thought it was because my laptop is set to a weird profile or something, but it's not that because I get the same print results from other PC's. So I'm just concluding that macs seem to suck at handling colours when printing.

I tend to doubt it. Maybe something went wrong with the actual printing machine?

A lot can go wrong at that stage. The last time I got a run of printing done it was for a bunch of wedding invitations. It took two proofs until they got the results I wanted.

I don't know. The printer was working perfectly, I tried a different mac with the same result. I'm going to go back and try the PC at the shop again, just to see if maybe that really is it.

Edit: yep. PC printed it just fine. I don't know what the problem with the mac is. But at least I got it to print out right.

That would be the CN Real block. Now their name is a misnomer. Fortunately the "real" shows are only on one night week…I think…I just watch adult swim because it has some of the few shows I still find tolerable and that is stretching it.

I have a wonderful family. Sure there are some FUBAR parts (my brother's marriage) but other than that; they're wonderful people with great senses of humor and we bicker but truly enjoy enjoy each others' company.

A week in a beach house with all of them was a wonderful experience. Now I have to get back to writing and experimenting with my awful B-movie script. I do that, write something bad just to get it out of system then use it to experiment with different techniques. Beats ruining something good by twisting it all over the place. Oh wait, I don't write anything good. lol!

FUBAR? What that is?

I found out the printing place down the street can scan my comic pages! Now I don't have to go downtown to the evil Kinko's! Well, uh, I hope at least. I'm off to try 'em out.

Word. Thanks lba- that was gonna bug me. ;)

This "busted up face" crap is becoming increasingly… annoying, to say the least. I texted my boss to let him know ahead of time that I was gonna look real rough for work, incase they'd rather I not come in. I need the money pretty desperately, but I unfortunately work in a bar where looks matter.

I hate to say it, but just wear a really exposing shirt. And if need be, wear a bandana (or a scarf) and cover half of your face.

And better yet, make it a belly shirt.
Then you could be one of those sexy belly dancers.

Just…you know…at a bar.

Situation Normal, All F*ed Up

They are ways to cuss without offending. Use them all the time in my family.

Well I'm going today to pick up walking dead/wolf-man which i've fallen behind on. I actually thought about getting the Bone series yesterday, but it was 40$. I also thought about getting the hardbound watchmen, but i already have the normal edition..

Lately I've been seeing a lot more manga use realistic art styles, kind of like western art only with Japanese characters and really smooth lines(this is what i don't like about most print b/w western art, the line quality is scratchy and they abuse the values way to much) It's kind of cool that i end up liking the characters more for being ugly/flawed, rather then perfect anime heart chin or musclebound superhero uber jaw.

Yes. Good advice wolfy has here. :)

If you take it, don't forget to take pictures as well. ^_^

Oooo, I know. Fake beard ;)

…or maybe one of those sexy black doctor mask things… Except not lame like Michael Jackson.

Crap I'm tired! I stayed up till 4:30am trying to buy a pair of officer trousers from WW1 on e-bay… I waited till the very last minute with my bid to get in there and… ugh! The bastards bid WAAAYYYY too much.

i'm tired. don't know what to do to night. prolly nothing. heading home in the morning.

old people in the hospital for their last time make me uncomfortable. when they talk about their death its so….callus? no. accepting. i mean, i joke around about my death. i'm callus'd to the deaths of friends. but i'm not accepting of it. it makes me so freaking uncomfortable. maybe that wisdom will be revealed to me on my death bed.

I hate my part-time job…I hate doing school online. I'd rather be in a classroom.

I seriously need a job with more potential for fucking danger or injury. The worst thing that could happen where I am right now is a fucking god damn paper cut or some dust in my eye.

The highlights of my day is coming home and working on an animation, if even just for a few minutes. I only work there 3.5 hours tonight, but god damn it…I'm about to create some danger for myself.

Today was my last day of work. No more paycheck. :( But my boss is really upset that they aren't funded for me to continue my position. He said if I need a letter of recommendation or anything to let him know. The good news is this position might be available next summer, and I would likely have no trouble getting it again.

In more bittersweet news, I called the pound today, and no one has seen my "foster" dog. (I was trying to find her a new home ever since I brought her home last April.) It has been almost a week since she vanished from our yard, and since she always came home very quickly (within 20 minutes) when she ran off before, I'm sure she's gone forever. I haven't seen any sign of car injury on any roads, so I hold out hope that she found a new place to live – which is great because that's what I was trying to do. I wish I knew for sure, but I did my best for her, got her spayed and vaccinated and bought her a little time. The saddest thing is that I won't be able to have a dog again for a LONG time. My dad hates dogs and was only humoring this one since she was just a temporary foster with nowhere else to go. Sigh. I miss training her and walking her. My cat is getting too old for tricks, and I don't like walking alone.
