The reefer
The smell has always, always made me feel ill, since I was a little teeny kiddy. And contrary to popular belief; smoking pot causes pretty much the same lung problems (and all the rest) as smoking anything else does.

But I don't see why it's illegal. It's not really addictive, especially not compared to cigarettes, and they're not banned. And Alcohol is way more dangerous as a drug in every single sense (causing mental problems, damages the body, makes people violent, unable to control cars and machinery, makes people sick, can kill you in a night if you're stupid, make you pass out and get raped and so on and so on), but we won't ban that and I quite a nice drink occasionally. :)

I think the problem with marijuana is cultural, not anything about the drug itself… like public nudity. ^_^

Re: The reefer:
I really don't like bein' around potheads- I mean, I don't have anything against 'em, but it bores the hell outta me when they're all just sittin' around doin' their stoner thing, what with the video games and movies and dumb conversation. Much prefer the company of drunks.
This is exactly why i don't like pot, doesn't do anything to you my ass, all the potheads I've ever met are slow boring dimwits.
…er well…they could have just been like that to begin with.. Probably both.

I don't think something should be made legal just because we have two other poisons already out there. And you really can't ban alcohol here again because prohibition created more problems than it solved.

Edit: yaaaay my 100k pageview on the new site just passed!

I just dislike the stuff for how braindead it makes people act. That and how people say it's not any different than booze. I always call BS on that. I can have a single drink without getting drunk or even tipsy. I couldn't smoke a joint without getting high. There's just too much crap that gets spewed out about the stuff to be worth dealing with it. Like how it's supposed to help you grow brain cells. Anyone who's been in basic anatomy and physiology should know you don't grow new brain cells after you develop.

I keep smelling latex everywhere I go. We're working with it in my design class and I think I got some up my nose or something. It kind of makes you light-headed and stupid feeling. The stuff smells absolutely foul before it dries. blech! Actually, now I think of it, most art supplies smell absolutely foul. I wish they could find a way to make the stuff smell like wildflowers or something.

RE: The reefer, again-

I know a few potheads that are really functional, and don't just sit around and chuckle at lines from "Half Baked" all day. And I know a lot of potheads that stay sober when they're at work or school, and then come home and do it. (But the same could be said for functioning alcoholics.) I do think it grossly inhibits motivation for most people- but I think it's a brain chemistry/metabolism thing; everyone's different that way.

What pisses me off is when potheads get all righteous and give me crap about drinking. Like what they do is any better than what I do. Sure, it's different, and maybe they don't like being around me when I'm drinking in the same way that I don't like being around them when they're smoking. But I don't try to say that alcohol's a "better drug". Psht.

That said, all this talk has got me thirsty. >:) It's beer-thirty, kids.

I can't understand why, but half of the ebooks I've downloaded from gutenberg work on my ebook reader, and the other half don't. But they all work just fine on the computer. >:[ This is going to mean lots of stupid formatting or something for me, isn't it…

I just had a really, really bad day.
I'm pissed beyond belief right now.

So we're working on a play in my 5th hour right? Alice in Wonderland.

I'm in charge of getting the set made-up, and I also have to move around the stage.
We only have 4 more days to get everything done.
I spent half of the hour trying to figure out what we were going to make the backgrounds out of, a girl kindly told me, and so I started on them.

So then this girl barges in, asking, "Who's in charge!?!" and I was like, "Me.", and then she's like, "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!?!11!1!/1?!" and I was like, "We're working on the backgrounds." and she's like, "GET TO IT THEN!!!111!"

And she said something like me having to get a tree done in 5 minutes.
Which I didn't get done.
I was having a bad day before this.
And now I just… -_-
Why does everyone rely on me, for everything?
It's not even at school, it's at home too.

Oh, and Skullbie, whoever that girl in your avatar is, is really, really cute.

The reefer, again-

I always liked the smell. It reminds me of folkfest and good times, I guess. :)

As for people who smoke pot every day and then seem stupid…that's because anyone who does that every day is dumb to begin with. I mean honestly, if you're going to school or work like that you seriously need to look at your life and priorities. For me, keeping my lungs functioning is more important than being completely baked all the time.

I know, I'm a buzzkill.

I've been using this thread a lot…crumby week i guess…i think i saw one of my old friends at school today(couldn't see her face) and we were walking towards the same path–and then she turned off the path quickly and i think because she saw me. Seriously ouch -_- ugh. I don't remember doing anything to tick her off either, besides never calling but sheesh.

Rant: my two year old stuck his hand in my printer and pulled out part of the mechanism and I can't put the damn thing back together. Gotta love this little guy, he can wreck anything!
I need my printer though: I draw everything tiny then blow it up and lightbox it to the finished page. If I had to draw straight on the finished page, well the finished page would never get finished.

Hrm. I kinda hate my tendency to get these sudden, weird obsessions.

Like right now, I'm looking up every version of the song "St. James Infirmary", every lyrical variation, and every essay or article on the origins/ history of the song that I can find.

Why?

I don't know. huh!?

Heh, I remember when I had ads at $10. That didn't last too long… But they used to stay at $4 for a long time.

I agree. I slept all day yesterday after watching some great Poverty Row 1930s-40s films. You know all the tired ideas that made TV Detective shows so stale by the 1970s? It's amazing to see them used for the first time. Some also had great twists that would be overused and abused over time.

Then there was the 1970s vampire movie "classic" which was disappointing even it was a fresh theater print. The case said it was 109 minutes but it was the same 79 minute version I'd already seen. In watching it I realized there was no way it could have been made longer as there was nothing that could have been added to pad out the time without ruining the movie.

Watching movies and sipping tea is the best therapy I've found with the headaches short of lots and lots of sleep.

Because you have an enquiring mind and a very, very cool taste in music. That is one of the best songs in the universe!

Here's a tedius fact about it: It used to be Cab Calloway's theme tune but for some reason, copyright or royalties or similar (I'll leave you to look it up) he decided to have a similar sounding but original tune written, like so…

Yeah. Welcome to art school. As they say, you only have time for 2 maybe 3 activities in your life at most. And if you do well in school or have a social life, one of those pretty much counts as 2. I used to be in excellent shape, now I get the joy of being chunky because I spend my entire day at a desk.

This is cool: Cab as "KoKo the Clown" in a Betty Boop cartoon by Fleicher. Surreeeeeeal!

Rant: For the nth time, my sister doesn't lock the upper knob since she doesn't have any keys (she can't find it in her messy VK room >_> ) so I ranted to her while she's at work that we'll get robbed because of your idiocracy. My sleep is always ruined in the morning (5AM) because of her.

While the good part for me is that I'll be getting an additional $25 for UI benefits (still jobless and waiting for those 3 applications but no hope) so instead of 152/2 wks, adding 25 bucks is whoo-hoo. Obama implemention FTW!!

I see everybody is worrying about their weight. Everybody always has, it seems. But a very, very good looking friend of mine. Apparently she thinks she's gained weight, and even her teacher told her that to her face.
Apparently 'everybody' does.

I told her that they're just jealous of how good she looks.
I mean, she's got it all ;)
I'd tap it.

Also working on the hopeful-redesign of my comic! And by that, I mean the site layout. It's looking good, lots to edit though.

As for what you were all saying about working out, it's all about hard work and determination.
And yes Skullbie, I think your new avatar is sexier than the dancing cat…if I were a furry, I might think differently…

Man, it's depressing when young girls are that hung up about their weight; especially when they're perfectly healthy. :( Me and most of my buddies like women with a little more meat on 'em anyway. But… I'm sorry. Who the hell tells a woman she's gained weight? FOUL!

On a hypocritical note: I wish I didn't worry about my weight so much. It's completely shallow, I know. And I've lost enough to fit back into my "skinny" clothes, but I probably won't be happy until I'm under 125 again. Siiiiiiiick. At least I'm not as bad as I used to be. I had some really frickin' disordered thinkin' about that stuff.

Agreed.
Personally, I like girls with a little bit of…um…weight. If that makes sense.
Most skinny girls I know don't have a butt, so it's not even any fun to check them out. lol.
But my friend, she's like, incredibly hot. I actually almost asked her out a while ago, but yeah. Now we're best friends, and she's weight conscience.

Seriously don't know why, she's like, the best looking girl in our school.

Oh man. I want a new tablet so bad. My little 4x6 Intuos is a great tablet but I'd like something a bit bigger for home to work with. I've been eyeing a 12x19 on ebay that's fairly cheap for a while now, but I can't quite afford it at the moment. If I could just sell a couple of my smaller paintings I'd have enough. Heck, I'd even take one of those new 6x11 or 9x12 tablets.

I've been bitten by the upgrade bug. I just bought a new set of RAM for my laptop last week and I was planning on upgrading my OS to 64-bit, so I know I should be patient and save my money, but… *drool*

So my dad took the dog to the vet today(I wanted to come, but had important things in school) and the vet said that the lumpy thing is probably just a "fatty deposit," but he's going to do some tests to make sure it's alright. I'm still really worried, though, because my dad basically told me this morning that if the dog got sick, we wouldn't pay for his treatment. I don't know what I would do without my dog.

On a less serious note, my cat won't stop sitting on my keyboard. What a bum.

Ug, more dogs woes! I feel for ya. But older dogs sometimes develop cists or non-malignant tumors. Right now both our older dogs (9 and 13 years old) dogs have have at least one, and they're perfectly healthy.
