The Pizza/Taco war.
We werent given a mission so I think I'll just continue my story.
We set out from the supply cash to the place where the taco troops plan to ambush the taco defects. We get a few blocks and the streets turn from dirt to pavement and the air seemed to get dryer. We where about a few blocks away when I directed my troop into a near by building to rest a bit. I find a map of the city in a cabinet inside. I put it on the table, and look at the area where the taco defects are supposed to meet a squad from the pizza squad. I notice that there is only one way in and out. I thought that it was an odd place to meet. Suddenly I here marching and I order the men to hide inside the building and be ready just in case. I peak out hole in the wall to see a taco troop march by. We wait for a little while and are about to leave when a pizza squad heads past the house. Finally the marching fades and we wait, then more marching. The taco troopers walk past. "Thats every one accounted for" I whisper to myself, I order Jenkins to peak out and see if they where gone. He slowly gets up and looks out the window. He ducks down fast and whispers, "another pizza squad." I think for a minute then mutter "those pizza bastards." Jenkins looks puzzled and ask what im talking about, I look at him and say " they are using there own troops to lure a taco squad into a trap." As the pizza squad finally marches past we hold our breath. Finally they turn the corner and move out of sight. I motion for my men to move out and we exit the building. We walk down the road and peak around the corner. Very far down the street I barely make out a squa1d of taco troopers and pizza units. I look around a bit and see figures moving around on building tops and inside houses. Suddenly cracks and pops start coming from down the road. A taco squad runs out of the houses and starts firing on the circle in the street. They quickly retaliate and most of the troops fall. Only five taco troopers remain standing, they start walking back up the road when explosions start going off. Pizza soldiers on the roof start lobbing grenades down onto the taco troopers. Unable to do any thing they fall within seconds. They started marching up the street and I decide its time to get my men into position. I look around for the best vantage points, I see a gutter on every corner in the street I look at Jenkins and tell him to take 8 units including him self and put 2 at each of the gutters. I direct 8 units into the house on the corner that we are looking from and 8 into another house accost the street. I go into the corner house and get up on the roof and into position to signal Jenkins. The pizza troops enter the corner and are about to turn when I raise my hand and signal for the troops in the gutters to attack. A second passes and suddenly the gutters light up with the sound of gun fire and a volley of bullets fly out to the crowd of pizza troops. 10 of them fall while the rest scramble into cover. I signal for the house across the street to open fire and 5 more units fall. I pull a sting signaling the units in the house below me to attack. 4 more fall. Just one more. I see him behind a rock fumbling with something. I line up a shot when he suddenly gets up and pulls his hand back. I see the small explosive in his hand. I shoot and he falls. But im to late. The death bomb flies into the sewer, a few seconds past then the earth shook and the street collapsed. We loose 7 good men… and Jenkins.

I know… what dose that have to do with any thing?
After the plan had been worked out we separated into our groups. Tom, Let, and I all took point on the front entrance while Jens took the back. We crept to the entrance and on my count Let bust open the door as Tom and I rushed in… no one. We crept along the walls, five men on each side. The walls were cold hard metal. Like a blue velvet steel that kept ya awake when you were movin so slowly ya thought you might be dead. Finally we reached a corner. I headed the op so I check my corners. No one, not even a guard. I motioned for the men to move out and take point when Tom spoke up for the second time.
Tom "Maybe we should have some of the men stand guard, in case any one comes. They can radio us."
The kid was right. I nodded in agreement and had two men take up each of the four point in the corridor. Then Tom, Let, and I moved in. We saw the General's office a few doors down. We knew that's where we needed to be. I led in and kicked that bitch open. The door flew wide as inside we saw a single man, in a single chair. He spun to us with a nod.
General: "I've been expecting you."
My eyes widened and my thoughts ran wild. How did this guy… before I had the chance to finish my own goddamn thought Let and Tom rushed in to pat the guy down. I was so lost in my own thought I forgot procedure. Damn it Shin think next time!
After they secured him he began rambling. Makin no sense, far as I could tell. "No you have this all wrong…" He would say.
Let: Oh so you're not a General of those Pizza faced fascists?
General: Well yes but…
He began as Tom hit him in the face with a blaster he had picked up earlier. The General went out cold.
Tom: Can't interrogate him here, gotta move him back.
Me: Good thinkin son. We'll leave the men here for back up and have them follow out in ten.
We all nodded in agreement as we dragged the unconscious general out the front door. We got him about halfway to our base before he woke up; Now was a good a time as any to begin.
Me: You tell us what we need to know and…
General: Where are your men?
Me: I'm the one askin the questions here!
General: Where are they.
I hit him once real good in the face. He bled a little. I felt disgusted to have his Pizza Sauce lovin blood on me but it felt good to hit him.
Let: We left 'em all back at your base in case anyone decides to show up.
Me/Tom: LET!
We yelled in unison. He shouldn't have said anything but he was just too damn excited and wanted to show the General that we outsmarted him.
General: You're men, are all going to die.
Apparently we hadn't. Just then…
To be continued…
Their worst fears had been confirmed. The Tacos were developing a new recipe. And it was close too. The Spoofs finally confirmed it. The evidence was clear now. The hidden farm of lettuce experiments, the machine shops of experimental meat grinders, the oddly selective raids on the tomato fields. It all came together with the capture of the prototype seasoning mixture. The recipe may already be complete.
And now the Bravos were being sent on yet another hazardous mission deep within Taco territory. To find the recipe and either capture it or destroy it.
Ever since that day on the frontier when they had seen Delta group slaughtered in the Pass they had wanted revenge. They had had it ten-fold. Now they were out for blood.
These thoughts passed quickly through the commander's head. He shook it clear as he once again observed an enemy base. Like so many Taco installations it attempted to make up for lack of fortification in terms of massive manpower. This time it looked like they had succeeded. Crust-wings had located the facility during a routine flyby. Originally it had been disguised as a small outpost guarding a rail yard, safe and deep within Taco dominion. The with the capture of critical research elements the Tacos had become alerted to the fact the Pizza was aware of its activities. So a flush of soldiers had been instated to the hidden lab to guard its success. But where exactly was the lab entrance?
The Tacos had been meticulous in their hiding of it. A masquerade they maintained even while they plainly stated the importance of the site. Sandbags were being laid out. Trenches and concrete walls would not be far behind. The tractors and cement mixers had already arrived. Three more guard towers had been erected today. They had to act soon or it would become impossible to break in.
"I think I found it" Garl said quietly from beside him. "where?" "the loading dock on the north edge. Its too separate from the other structures. That and things seem to go in without coming back out." "good call". Relief flooded him but was tinged with dread. They had a target but how to strike it? An all out attack would be fruitless. No less than two whole TacoDiero battalions were down there, with a heavy armor detachment and a counter -espionage unit. Not even the Bravos could win those odds. The target was too valuable and well shielded to call in an air strike. A full-out invasion was out. Sizable reinforcements could take weeks to battle their way through just to get here. Even so, during such an assault the lab would be scuppered by the researchers and guards. So it came down to stealth.
"DUCK!" They hit the dirt just in time to avoid the flash search. Clever bastards. The Tacos had taken to using high intensity lamps to blind and discover observers in the surroundings. This is going to be hard. So many guards, so many barriers how were they going to….. Then a plan occurred to him.
The laborer looked up from his work. Pedestrian traffic had been warned to stay back 50 yards from the fence at all times or be shot. Right now he was digging a hole in the street for an adjustable vehicle barrier. The town around the depot was suddenly uneasy with the flurry of new activity on the base. Was the war going so badly that these backwater targets needed to be guarded? What was so important about their little spot on the map? Soldiers were no longer permitted out and only official traffic was now allowed onto the base. The depot had always been busy, but now it positively swarmed. Heavy vehicles, strange equipment and materials in crates and boxes, building materials. Soon this was going to be one of the most heavily built and guarded facilities in the empire. Strange. The TacoDiero foreman noticed he had stopped and started forward to reprimand him. The Work whistle saved him but received a stern "I don't like you" anyway. He climbed out of the hole and carried his tools to the night locker. A stream of late shift workers moved past him. When he reached the workers barracks he noticed something odd. There were too many workers in the common area. Ones he didn't recognize. "whats going on here? you boys know this isn't your dorm! You trench diggers have your own barrack down the way" They looked at him noncommittally. "we don't anymore. We finished the east edge this afternoon so they were moving our tents to the other side. Some blockhead messed it up though. Then they loaded our tractors onto a train! The supervisor got so torn up ovar it that he done put us here in frustration!"
Lazy bums the laborer thought to himself. All they do is sit on a blamed backhoe all day and let a machine do their work. "fine but the bunks are ours and keep your mitts off our stuff" "fine wit us, we's just headed out anyways, north side should be done with their shift for the night and their lettin us use their rides"
"good riddance" he muttered after them as they wandered out.
That was close Bas thought to himself as the meandered out of the worker's quarters.
It was dark now. Work was constant around the base so one more group of contractors went unnoticed as they cut their way to the north side loading dock. They had quietly replaced the unit of trenchers two days ago. They had been admitted with no extra scrutiny once they handed over the stolen work papers. They had been working honestly since then. They gave no sign that they were agents of Pizza. Finally they had an opening. The north side trenchers cycled out today and then were to take over their work. An easy shift passed and they were well rested for the mission.
The whistle sounded and they shut down everything normally. then proceeded to waltz off site like they hadn't a care in the world. once they were out of site of the foreman they coolly made a turn and walked straight through the side door of the dock. That was all it took. There were four guards, an auto-cannon, an elevator, and an oxygen pump. The high intensity flash grenade burned the cannons targeting optics and paralyzed the guards. The commandos turned workers rushed forward and made quick work of them before they could scream. Then they cut the air pump and waited. To prevent hack attempts the lab had no outside communication save for the com line to the guard shack they had just disabled. It didn't take long for the researchers and guards to come suffocating out. Enchiro the lead reseacher saw them. "By the soft shelled tortilla! that air pump wasn't scheduled to be replaced till the morning! what were you thi—…" he saw the dead guards "oh no" he moaned queitly. Bas and Garl shared a look of evil pride and replied "yup".
Breath masks went on and down they went. At gunpoint the scientist was very willing to hand over his notes, complete his hourly security check-in with the base commander and purge his life's work from the lab. the pertinent info he handed over.
The dead guards were left and the bottom of the elevator shaft and the scientists were escorted out wearing workers uniforms. They all loaded onto an outbound train and an air bombing struck as soon as they were clear. a few miles into the middle of nowhere saw the train hijacked and driven straight to the Pizza Front.
Let me give you some of my backstory. War is all I have ever known. When I was 5, I was taken in by the army, after my parents abandoned me. The Tacodiers raised me to be a fighter. This next mission I undertook was not for my government. In fact, if they find out, I'll be arrested. This mission was my own.
The two governments were developing a new recipe. Tacopizza. It would end this war forever. The governments longed for peace. If peace did come about, I'd be fucked. I was going to sneak into the meeting hall, sneak into the room that had the recipe, and replace it with weapons plans. The others like me provided me with intel. The place was supposed to be lightly guarded. Intel isn't always right.
The place was so heavily guarded, it was going to be a bitch to sneak in. But that was good. I've been wanting a challenge. The intel stealing from the enemy base was way to easy. The only equipment I had was a tranquilizer gun capable of bringing down an elephant. This was going to be fun.
I got myself up onto the roof. That had to have been the easiest part. I went into the base and ran into some major resistance. Several Pizzateers spotted me. I pulled out my Tranq and shot each of them. In the battle, I got shot in the arm. I soon ran into some Tacodiers. They saw my insignia and thought I was one of the guards. They did ask me why I was bleeding. I saw my chance to stir up some trouble.
I told the Tacodiers that a squad of pizzateers just opened up on me. the only thing they said before they left to go after the pizzateers was "those bastards!". I soon found the proper room. I snuck in and found the plans. I heard footsteps in the hall. I hid behind the door and tranqed the dude as he came in. Then I switched the plans. As I was escaping, I smiled as I heard the gunfire between the two sides as they fought over what I created.
When the plans were exchanged, the Taco leaders saw the weapons plans. Believing they had been betrayed, they declared there would be no chance for peace, ever!
Are we hunting or hunted? The chase had been long and hard.
A rogue Taco militant had sabotaged the peace talks.
The long efforts in discovering the new recipe and capturing the Taco scientists were for naught. Billions of peppers in had been spent to combine recipes and formulate the TacoPizza. Now it was all gone. The treaty was in shambles there was nothing left now but more war, and vengeance. The security analysis came too late. But at least it had given Command a target for us. Now the Bravos crashed wildly through the woods both chased and chasing. The Tacassassin and his contingent had fled into the neutral nation of Sausage.
No doubt they were bound for their allies to the east in Burger. Sausage defended its neutrality fiercely. Orders to avoid an international incident were promptly ignored when the Taco crossed the border. Now Sausagerwitzers were chasing both parties. They hadn't much time. Local forces were closing in. Bravo commander Cilantro was determined to catch the last Taco bastard before they were all apprehended. They had already killed the rest.
Suddenly his wish was granted. A dart whizzed out and buried itself into Doughy's chest. He promptly went down with a grunt. "SNIPER! DOWN!" DAMN IT! WE DON"T HAVE TIME FOR THIS! he thought bitterly. The sound of motors was plainly audible from all sides. No Time!. Basil! Garlic! you got anything?. Bas and Garl exchanged one of their grim little smiles before they said "Nope". It was broad daylight, but there was no sign of their attacker. The tracks they had been following had ended suddenly. Oreg cried out as another dart tapped him on the shoulder. Double Damn! There had been no sound and no muzzle flash. The dart gun was air-powered then. The sound of their pursuers was getting louder. A new dart whizzed past him and buried itself into the wood by his ear. Just like that he sighted along its path and fired. Thats why I use bullets pansy He hit the retreating muzzle of the dart gun as i was retreating back into a bush. To his credit the man did not cry out as the weapon was blown apart and ripped from his hand. Like a well-oiled machine, 7 Blasters started to rip apart the area around his target. Suddenly there was nothing but stillness, and the noise of the Sausage troopers approaching very close by. Four of the troopers stood and closed cautiously on the spot. He erupted from the bush with knives, no machetes, and cut open one one of the Pizzateers. Sheer wit and years of battle-hardened reflexes saved the rest. In a way they expected this move because its what they would have done. Instantly they had their own blades out and were matching their skills to his. "screw that!" their yell came as simultaneously as their blaster fire. Bas and Garl didn't stop until they had emptied their magazines. Considering the power of the weapons there wasn't much left. Pity, he had wanted a prize to take home.
"Haltz!! Do nowt mowve!" Ah the Sausagers, just on time.
Without warning everybody then heard the clack of a grenade launcher's entire clip finish its flight timers. Commander Cilantro lost consciousness in a world of flame.
