Oh, I want to add that it's a sweet holiday for adults. Teenagers making out and "in love" make me roll my eyes, sometimes laugh, sometimes gag.

Amen! That kind of teenage behavior seems to be especially abundant in amusement parks, while standing in line for rides. Don't ask me why.

Meh, not to be gushy, but V-day is like any other day for my husband and I, because every day is like Valentine's day for us–minus the crappy candy hearts and stupid pink teddy bears. We just cut straight to the good stuff. Bow chicka-bow-wooowwww…. 8D

I hate Lonely Valentines day. Every day is Valentine's Day for me :(

I wasn't sure if you were joking about your stats….but, see, you're a very good-looking guy. But maybe you're still single because you say you have no skills and you have no plan for a future? Women like a confident guy with goals–not a depressing pessimist. That's a huge turn-off.

…..I'm just sayin'. ;)

Bleh. Glad my country doesn't celebrate it. At least not officially but I have been hearing more and more people doing something romantic together to honor the day.

Valentine's Day is a day invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap.

Sounds like somebody didn't date in high school.

It sounds like if I posted what my wife and I have done or are planning to do, I'd either:

a. get killed
b. send someone dovetailing into a worse depression

so I think I'll hold off. No Valentine's Day comics, although technically speaking, the Off Hours that's planned for tomorrow could be considered a little romantic…in a funky kind of way (it's a continuation of the current page).

I'm not feeling any love at all.

But that's mostly due to the fact that I made a V-day thread in Debate and discussion 2 days before this one and hardly anyone has gone there. :(

EVERYONE!! CHEER UP!! all you singles alike!!! valentines day is another largely obscured holiday! –lest we forget ancient history… and I quote:

Feb 14
The eve of the Roman feast of Lupercalia. Naked youths would run through Rome, anointed with the blood of sacrificed dogs and goats, waving thongs cut from the goats. If a young woman was struck by the thong, fertility was assured. Pope Gelasius I decided this was a bit too much, and co-opted the Roman holiday to be the Feast of St. Valentine in 484 A.D.

hahaha…well I laughed. ki ki ki

I like the fact that people say for short "Happy VD!"
Happy Venereal Disease, Eveyone!

no Valentines comic planned for me.

The holiday is meaningful for those in love…but I do believe it is nothing more a day made for sale of roses, candy, and cards.

Here's a solution everyone, why not pretend you are in love with someone on The Duck and send a special Valentine PQ or post a specail Valentine here in this thread. What could it hurt? Its the internet and why not have fun with it and pretend you are wooing someone for VD! HA-HA!!!

now someone needs to make up a standard VDPQ message for people to send. Darn, I wish this was a game started up yesterday. Everyone would wake up, check their inbox and go, "boo i'm so lonely..wha–and now I've got VD!? oh I'm so loved!"

Happy VD!

Is last night a bit fuzzy? Is there lipstick on your pillow? Is there a Shetland Pony in your bathroom being fed peanut butter by Lawn Gnome? Must be VD!
Have a wonderful full blown VD!

feel free to copy paste and send it to that special someone!

and post here letting us know if you caught VD!

Well so far things are going just a bad as I thought they would. I feel so sick thanks to this holiday, so I think I'll stay in and avoid all the mushy bullshit going on outside.

I have never taken Valentines Day seriously enough to ever feel lonely on that day. Sometimes I even forget about it entirely…if it wasn't for all the artworks and chatter on the net it'd probably pass right over me. XP

So my position on Valentines? Total apathy.
If a couple gives each other gifts on that day, I am certainly not going to hate them for it…but of course it's ridiculous for couples to take it too seriously just as people shouldn't be so pissed off or feel so lonely.

I mean, I'm sure i'm good at something >_>;
………………………..I'm sure there's some woman out there that likes a sensitive, feminine, depressing pessimist, amirite?

PS: I hate LONELY Valentine's Day. I don't mind it when I'm not so lonely.

Yeah, I'm not updating today cuz I'm figuring nobody would be reading comics… everyone's either out on their obligatory dates, or stressing about their obligatory dates, or going to watch Jumpers (which is what I intend to do).

The best thing about Valentine's Day is the sale on candy on the 15th
Oh snap there's a sale on candy??!?!!!?

BTW d00ds, just cuz I quoted yous don't mean you're my Valentine alright?

*Sound of hearts being broken (muwahahahaha…)*

Midge, man, what kind of weird game did you start here? B<

I actually got a "rose" from someone on deviantART for Valentine's. I thought it was pretty cool. :)

What I hate about Valentine's Day is when people get super bitter about it, because it makes me think: "hmm…should I be feeling bitter, too?" This guy on an elevator I was just on went on this huge rant to everyone onboard. Some nice old man said, "I got flowers and a certificate to a spa." The bitter man replied: "I got shit." And the "shit" reverberated throughout the enclosed space, followed by an awkward laugh and dead silence.

The only thing I'm disappointed about this Valentine's is that my dad didn't send me any chocolates, as was his habit. But, he did send a card with so many goddamn sparkles on it, I almost went blind when the light hit it.

With all this talk, maybe I'll draw up some cheesey Valentine's art for one of my comics…if I can stomach it.

Un/Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! (As you prefer.)

I got VD from BitterTea! Hey that rhymes…

I will now attempt to spread this VD to others. Remember everyone. DD isn't a cure for VD, you can still get VD by contacting or being noticed by other members.

Some side effects may occur.
