I haven't watched the Simpsons regularly for years and years
Nothing can go on forever… Harry has been getting a bit… nuttier? Well, certainly more vocal with his own individual opinions in recent years, and by recent I mean in the last 10 or more. When people get like that they usually want to go their own way.
Some people get to a certain age and just think "fuck it! I've been nice for long enough, time to do and say whatever I like."
I don't know if that really happened to Harry, but it's a shame when people get like that, no matter what part of the political specutrum they're on.
Being free do do and say stuff and not conceal who you are is great, it's when it gets to an antisocial/pissing people off for the hell of it stage that's not good.
I am NOT talking about Harry now, it's just a general observation. I have no idea whether that fits Harry or not, probably not.

I loved the Simpsons - absolutely ingenious show! It was the opposite of 'Seinfeld' (a Show about Nothing) in that it was a Show about EVERYTHING! It covered every topic and current event imaginable!!
But I rarely watch now, and this seems like a good time to just let it go completely. I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did (a testament to how talented the creators and writers were).
I haven't seen it in a long time, either. Every couple years, a Simpsons related story will appear in the news, and I'll be stunned that the thing's still going!
Gosh, I can't even remember the last time I saw it. LOVED it back in the day, of course, Just incredible writing and characters (and animation and voice acting!)
I agree that it would be a good time to end it - or just cut it down to annual Halloween specials. Those were always great episodes.
I really thought the shark jumping was the Simpsons-Family Guy crossover. Maybe also the last straw when the Simpsons people finally saw just how pathetically out of touch and irrelevant their show had become. I'd like to see a Sopranos type ending where nothing is over it just ends after a total change-up.
The last Simpsons I watched as the Family Guy crossover. The Family Guy is a moronic show…
Enough said.
The Simpson has been amazing in its time, it really spearheaded the way for a lot of great mature animated shows, pulling US animation out of the sugar-filled cesspool of kids only entertainment and into something way more inteligent. Lots of great animated TV shows owe all they have to the Simpsons.
Absolutely legendary, the Simpsons is, no doubt about that. It brought animation…and comedy in general…to a whole new level.
Back in the wayback, I used to think of The Simpsons as the Beatles, King of the Hill as the
Rolling Stones, and South Park as the Ramones.
Just a thought I had that I never had the opportunity to share with anyone.

People have such short memories. The Flintstones started out in primetime as an animated situation comedy loosely based on The Honeymooners. Hanna Barbara later did Wait till Your Father Gets Home which was an adult animated show that treated with a lot of serious 1970's issues but in a crazed funny way. Cartoon Network showed it as part of the first installment of Adult Swim and it was funnier than I remembered but very topical for the early 1970's. If you hadn't lived through it you'd be lost. The daughter in Family Guy is an obvious homage to the daughter in Wait Till Your Father Gets Home.
Man, I learn so many things that I would probably have never known from these forum discussions. I looked up some clips of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home and the art style resembled a comic strip style.
Also, inspired by many of the posts on this page referring to the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover episode, I finally watched it. It was made for a way more mature audience than the Flintstones/Jetsons crossover.
I really like watching cartoons from the 1980s now because I have a better understanding of photoshop to figure out how they created the animation for those shows.
Well, learning how to sprite despite narcalepsy smacking me in the face the moment I form something from just a few lines. It's a lot harder than it looks though. And I'm very out of practice with drawing using a computer drawing tablet (all my lines are squiggly and crooked). Oh, well…
Trying to work on drawing running animations (especially towards the screen which I'm finding to be very hard)…
Ozone, you don't mind if I use Pinky in this game, do you? I plan on portraying her as a former merc turned inventor/tinkerer who works at the local colony junkyard (where the military dumps their non toxic junk). She and her young apprentice Aja work to invent things to help the fledgeling colony along. She will also provide upgrades to the player's tools and sell gadgets that the player can use as well.
Aaand maybe a storyline where her former merc "friends" try to pull her back into the fray for one last job (where the player must use his/her friendship with her to diffuse the situation without violence as Pinky is tired of that life at this point). :)
Soon as I get a sketch done I'll post it. Unless you have some ideas as to how she should look of course. :)

It's a boy!
No. No. Don't worry. I'm not having a duckling. My younger brother has moved in with my husband and me. Any advise for "raising" a seventeen year old brother?
Repeat as necessary which usually works out to be every 10-15 seconds or so. Actually the best advice i can give about dealing with young people is LISTEN. If they don't want to talk, don't force the issue, but when they do… LISTEN and you'll be amazed at how more often they'll talk.
The banner ad is going for $13.10 right now and the sidebar ad for $4.90! DD might be making some money there. This thing might be working!
Thanks, Ozone. Hopefully tomorrow I will have my sketches of Pinky to show off. Most likely wielding a large blowtorch (as a reference to her weapon of preference). And maybe her mech in the background amongst a ton of junk (it's still functional as she keeps it there as her "ace" card in case of trouble).
Can't wait 'til tomorrow. I'll be off of work so I can get some drawing done.
Unless I have Jury Duty. Then it'll be five hours of waiting while lawyers select who they want in their jury (I probably won't qualify as Security Officers don't seem to make for great jurors around here)…
The sunset was very pretty. I always see the sun setting over the ocean from a hill by my house when I take walks, but I really just needed to see it up close. I never thought about it before, but when I see a sunset, it is also a sunrise in another part of the world.
I drove to the harbour today because I forgot how much I needed sunlight. I've been in my room with the curtains and blinds drawn for the last few days. It was difficult to keep track of time without the calendar on my tablet to remind me. All the days seemed to blend into one. I decided to enjoy life and the beauty of nature instead of staying in the dark.
I wanted to walk in the ocean so I could feel the soft sand beneath my feet and the warm water washing away everything else. It was a reminder of being alive and that every day has the potential to be like today. I just need to take it one step at a time, like learning to breathe again.
My sense of taste is finally returning, so I am hopeful my appetite will be back to normal soon. There were days when all I ate for an entire day was one block of tofu. I enjoy tofu because it is pretty plain on its own, but when it is paired with the right sauces, it absorbs all the flavors and becomes a completely different meal. I always thought I had a "tofu personality" because I am okay on my own, but better with good company. Now I think it is even cooler to be the sauce that gives the tofu its flavour.
Oh my god… bugger Facebook! I spend too much time on that horrible site.
What I dislike most is seeing what other people are posting about and liking on their friends stuff and their friends of friends stuff because it even though it shows in YOUR feed it makes you feel like a stalker. Hate that.
I'd rather just see what friends share directly.
