Animals definitely have associative thoughts. My dog will tear a handgun out of your hand if it's within reach, otherwise she starts snarling and barking. But if you take a shotgun out of it's case, she immediately starts running for the truck.

I've got so much stuff to do that I can't even keep track of it, yet I spent the whole day sleeping in and watching anime. I think I've just kind of hit that point where my brain forces me to shut down for a while and stop tweaking out about it no matter how much I might want to forge ahead and get it all done. I didn't really know it was possible to make yourself burn out quite like that. Though I guess it's kind of to be expected considering I wasn't sleeping for so long and then never really took much of a break once finals were over.

I think I'll just take my last two days before I go back to work at my summer job to chill out and relax. It might even be good for me.

Wow so i may actually get my art published with my writer, he met an editor from Arcana studios at a comic shop he works at and says we have a high chance of getting published.

I mean arcana's a small publisher but it'd be pretty damn cool to have our stuff in paper form, and i think we make an awesome team too (well i haven't been on many teams, but i like him a lot and i think we work well together :) ) Ah well hope we get to do it!

Woo! Good luck Skullbie! Hope that all works out for ya!

So…I met another girl, who is interested about my comic. We talked on the bus-ride home from the field trip.
We have the same taste in music too. It was crazy.
The last girl I found that was like this, was incredibly annoying.

But yeah, I think my comic is slowly getting better. I'm going to try and experiment with more dynamic panels, with better backgrounds. I think my characters are pretty decent for the most part (Achire…I don't really like him that much), but yeah. I'm still debating on what I want my next comic to be…I think I have an idea. Not sure though.

Anyway, I'm going to go finish getting ready for school, and then when I come home, I'll finish my homework, get started on a page or two, and then play some Mirror's Edge!

I hate our schools vending machines. I went up to my old foe that had eaten countless amounts of my dollars. That or the machine only told me it didn't have Dr. Pepper after it was too late and the coin return doesn't work. I needed caffeine this morning (though it really doesn't have affect on my system, I use it is a placebo). I march down to the machine and press the Dr. Pepper button. The machine doesn't give me indication that it is sold out. My dollar works and I press the button…nothing happens. I press it harder and a Big Red pops out. The Big Red button is at the bottom of the panel, the DP at the top. I want to know how. So I'm stuck drinking Big Red so I don't waste a dollar and so that I can get a caffeine infusion.

I need the caffeine cause I had a long night. I went to bed at 10:30 and I was woken up at 11 to watch the security cameras for an hour cause the person that was supposed to do it was late. She arrives, apologizes profusely and I went to bed. I get woken up again at 1:30 to battle with a resident who claimed there was no guest in her room past visitation hours. (Turns out he forgot to check out and went back to his own dorm). Of course what happens today? I have to check out a resident at 8am and have a test at 9. GOOODY!

Once I get moving, I move. I finished the pages for the current chapter. I'm set for the next week. Typically the characters threw me a curve and adjusted the script at the very last minute.

It must be something when I do the facial expressions. I get into their heads? I found great pictures for the backgrounds and I got a chance to do a miniature sequence. Next model sequence won't be for awhile as I'm not looking forward to building the viking long ships. Maybe I'll go steampunk and use one of my battleship models instead. lol!

Our Canon printer/scanner went belly up this morning. I reminded myself that this one lasted twice as long as the previous one [an entire, whole year!] and resigned myself to going to the computer super store later today to select its replacement.

Unless I am confronted by a deal that I just cannot pass up I will probably pick the latest affordable Canon setup. I like them for their ease of operation. They are relatively sturdy, too. It's just that we run the crud out of these devices and so we simply wear them out.

Still . . . I remember when equipment was expected to last for years rather than convince the owner that he was lucky when it lasted out just one year. Sigh!

What's it being used for? We've had some luck at the place I work with Brother printers as of late. Laser/injet?

It's an inkjet and it's our tutoring business' workhorse. Depending on the time of year we may run as much as a ream of paper through its rollers per month.

Some of these dorm girls are so irresponsible. We only have until 10 am on Saturday to check them all out. I knocked on the door of one of my residents to inform her that she hadn't signed up yet. She said. "Well I'm leaving tonight."

No you are not. You aren't responsible enough to sign a sheet that has been up since last Monday.

"Well the sheet wasn't there."

Your are required to sign up to check out 24 hours in advance. All sheets are taken down at 10pm the night before.

"Can't you work me in?"

Most likely not. There were a lot of responsible residents that actually signed up.

"Can I leave earlier than signed up?"

Leave me alone I'm talking to this other person.

Hmm. You might want to look at investing in something a bit larger than what you've been buying prior.

http://www.brother-usa.com/Printer/modeldetail.aspx?PRODUCTID=DCP9040CN&tab=spec

Take this one, it's the Brother 9040CN color laser copier/printer/etc.. has a duty cycle of 35,000 pages, ie it's designed to print up to 35,000 pages a month. Brother's been really good to us as far as toner consumption goes (Our HP machines would EAT the friggin stuff like crazy, it was nice to go to something that was DECENT) and they're beasts, we've TRIED to break em and only succeeded once out of 20 some printers.

And that one was in the depths of the bodyshop, where dust and paint dust was flying constantly. NO printer can last there long.

About $350 or so online, but if you're buying a new printer every year, it might be worth the investment initially just go ahead and get something that's going to LAST, ya know?

>Net

Edit: Plus, toner costs a LOT less than ink, so your cost per page printed will go down quite nicely, even WITH color copies.

Edit 2: note, though, that color laser printers do bring about a bit more maintenance than inkjet… you'll have to worry about replacing the drum unit, fuser, and other parts over time. They still end up cheaper, mind you… but it's something to consider

Thanks Net, and were it only me involved I would definitely consider a Brother. As it stands, however, I have to keep my partner happy and she has a long standing grudge against Brother products. They did not exactly cover themselves with glory during their early days as far as reliability goes. She holds grudges against entire companies sometimes. So it goes.

In any event, I trudged forth to the local computer super center and purchased a fairly inexpensive Canon that was still a model upgrade for us. A bonus is that it uses the same ink cartridges as its predecessor and so that saves me nearly half the cost of the new printer itself right off the bat. I HATE having to throw away perfectly good ink cartridges because they will not work with the next model of printer!

It's been a LOOOONG day so far for me but hopefully I still will have time to uninstall the old software and install the new software and hook up the new printer and test it some time tonight. At the moment, however, I need to shut things down shortly and go pick up the wife from her school.

I had a really bad day today.

I have a bad habit of holding everything in, like, if I were to get really mad, I'd hold it in. I have no true way to express it. So I walked around half of the day, ready to literally beat the living crap out of somebody, until I got home, when I worked out pretty hard.

I'm not really sure what set me off, but I think I scared this girl I was talking to away ;O;
I'm hoping she's just busy.
I didn't go crazy or anything.
:(

Sheesh! It took two hours to get the new printer ready for installation and then to install all the software that comes with it. I recall in the old days of DOS operating systems when a whopping huge one megabyte program might take over an hour to install. Programs are so bloated and huge again that we seem to have returned to the days of old in that regard.

Bring yourself a lunch and a good book to read, because you ARE going to be occupied with the process for quite some time!

i didnt work out this morning cause i was supposed to do my actual work, and there's rules and regulations about what we can do before that kind of work. so i just relied on doing my normal TKD, but they changed teh schedule (in a good way) tkd now starts at 620, followed by kick boxing, and then krav maga. it's all finished at the same time i normally would stop TKD, so i did all that. and my hands are shaking. it was a great wear down exercise. and tomorrow i'm going to run 3 miles balls to the wall, and i will get under a 22 minute mark. i will do it.

also my dog is alternating between hyper and lazy, all coresponding with the outside temperature….meaning it's time to shave her down again…i love my husky.

also, at 645 i have a test that will determine if i get the next rank….the worst part is, is that i wont find out if i made it till august, and even the actual test scores wont be available until after that. 2000+ question database, followed by another test 1000+ question database. 3 hours each. 100 questions each. if they go with a 10 higher scale system than last year, i'll have to get a 60 on both tests to make the minimums….(note to everyone, there will be maybe 30 questions total in both databasesthat have to do with my actual job, and stuff i know)

Eh. Don't worry about it. Happens all the time.

People change. They move, develop weird opinions, betray and argue. Lots of things can cause good friendships to break down. It's of course the worst when you lose a friend to the great beyond. In those cases all you can do is remember all the good times you had together and honor his or her memory.

Damn sorry to hear that Ryu, i know the internet isn't much but if you ever want to shoot me a pq i'll listen (and hopefully save some innocent girls from your wrath ;) )

So i've made my make-shift checklist of poo-poo i wanna improve this summer, And one of them is going blonde~~ :0 This means I'll have to keep up a tan all the time, but i've been wanting to be blonde again since 07, most likely this color: Edit: was kinda big:pic

I'm getting some pretty good results from the gym, much slimmer around the waist and my calves are toned as hell(they always were tight from my trampoline but now they're little pistons) And i'm going much faster for longer on the treadmill. :)

You must be in fantastic condition. I recall decades ago when I used to train in martial arts for an hour and a half and then TEACH a martial arts class for another hour and a half – or sometimes teach first and then train. It was exhausting to do that day after day but one does get in fantastic shape.

Thanks, but the problem is I'm not gaining any new ones either. It wouldn't be so big a deal otherwise. I'm one of those awkward kids with horrible clothes who never talks to anyone.

Because I'm also a ridiculous person who wants to ensure my own unhappiness and whine about it to strangers on the internet.
