I am female, over 25, have run two small-time popular webcomics (and am working on a new one although its popularity will be determined), and yes I do in fact have candy.

Haribo's Starmix! I love gummi things. Especially the gummi things with the foamy stuff. Here RedSlayer, you may have some if you like.

Also I think there are some chocolates in the cubpoard we won at a raffle last weekend.

Also I have Nutella but I'm not sure if that counts as candy.

I'm a boy variety of human, complete with the parts.
I do a comic called A Jagged Mind here and Digital Treason on Comicdish.com.
Same comic..i just chose a different name cause it was fun.
I like candy, but the chewy kind.
I like girls too, but they don't have to be chewy.
I have chocolat here, but it's about to be eated.
I'm also fighting the startings of a cold…and am slowly winning.
take THAT germ freaks.

Getting to know you…getting to know all about you.
So general question:
Do you ENJOY making comics or do you feel it to be more work than it's worth?

I've got a question:

How many comic makers here play online games such as MMORPGs?

Female here! Though actually I've been on DD since before the upgrade happened, I just never posted.
I play online Neverwinter Nights a little, though it's slightly different than an mmorpg. I have played Ragnarock, Gate to Heavens etc. in the past, but I find them to be ultimately repetative and unfulfilling.
I'm 21, I turn 22 next month.
…And I'm from England. I can't remember if anybody asked the specific question of 'is anybody from England' but it'll at least get people off my back when I spell things like 'colour' differently.

I play online games. I play GunZ, Gunster, Maple Story (hardly play that anymore) and I'm downloading Pirate King Online right now. Darn you Mongoose, you just posted before me!

Another edit: I asked kingofsnake if he was English, so I guess you got it from that.

Sorry, that's a no, from me. I haven't had a computer good enough to play a MMORPG without it lagging up a lot. I do, however, enjoy the occassional game of CS when I can get on my brother's computer. At least…before he took it off to college with him.

Assuming that you are of Chinese ethnicity, BigFish. I would like to know what the phrase "nay sick dzoh fan may ah?" means or implies. (I rather not trust this AltaVista BableFish.)

It means all you white guys piss off.

This must be true because I am chinese. Even if I don't speak a word of it, I still am chinese

Some newer DrunkDuck members and some general users are complaining about the hostility between members usually found in these threads, we're trying to stop this.

so… on a "getting to know you… getting to know all about you…" thread we've got people expressing opinions and/or being jerks?

where's the problem? i'd say that fits perfectly with the topic.

here's a question for Garwick and Murphy: when are you guys going to update?! same goes for you, Ian Jay!

this question is also for ozone… "So, did you want to work on that thing with me… about that stuff?" :D
Not much yet, still thinking… also plotting, planning and scheming.

-Yes, Australia is more like how the Simpsons showed it. The whole purpose of the Olympics in Sydney was a big propaganda lie to cover that up. True.
-I don't play MMMMMMMMMMORPORGS, I tried Anarchy online, but it was dulllll.
-I am not female and I am over 25
-hostility is bad ok? don't be hostile about it just because I am hostile to it.

I had a lot of codeine based pills today to combat my headache and my brain is in fairyland right now. Any idea how to get rid of that? (fairyland, not my brain)

I'm under 25 years of age but barely. (23 years old, actually).

I'm female, and proably about the whitest girl you'll ever see, conidsering I'm an goth.

and I do story comics. I tried to do strips once, but nobody got my werid, mulder-type kinda humor. and this was before I discovered DD. so I never once did them again.

I LOVE playing MMorpgs!! playing rpgs and other shooting games are okay, but much more FUN with other players. the same goes for Stragey games (such as clivization III mulitiplayer)… because it's just like you'll never know what the players would do or what they would EVEN say when you do something. you know what I mean? comptuer ais are just so predictable to me.

yes, I do have candy at the moment. halloween coming, baby!!

I live in North Dakota, USA. and no, it's not just all farms and blizzards, and small towns like the popular media out there would like you to believe. that movie Fargo wasn't even made in North Dakota!

is there any questions some people would like to ask me?

…lots of "goths" wear white make-up all over their faces… :P
Aurora is really pale anyway, so that makes her double white! I think that was her gist, no philosophy about what it means to be a "goth" or some silly "race" crap.
Do you ENJOY making comics or do you feel it to be more work than it's worth?
Both. It depends on how I feel at the time.

Corvin

well, to explain Goths more:

we are a type of people who embraces the darkness, sees beauty in all morbid, dark and even creepy things… we embrace and celebrate death but not to the point where we'd be sudical or crazy for it.. just doing that as to remind ourselves why life itself is so precious, and mourn the fact that most people take it for granted.
the "goth" group oringally started out to protest against certain things….such as society becoming something that valued money over life. Hosptials caring more about the bills they hand out being paid more than they did caring for patients, for instance. as well as the degradation of certain values and romatic notions. most of them often wore black to mourn the way humanity seemed to care more about itself rather than for his/her fellow humans. and a lot of us would often start wearing pale makeup to make ourself appear like we could be Death.

and then eventally, the group started losing it's oringal meaning as more and more people came to see Goths as just people who loved black and death way too much, and as people who were depressed 24/7 (which is pretty silly when you think about it), and wrote depressing poetry. and it just got even more worse when teenagers started flocking to it as an outlet for some of thier feelings, and also to get attention… turning the "goth" thing into just a fad for most.

however, for me it is not just a "fad".. to me it's a way of life, a viewpoint. I don't even need that white makeup anyway. if I wore it, I'd proably glow in the dark from being SO white.
anyway, that's a little history lesson on the goth background to help you understand goths a little bit more.

And a question to spriters: What is the hardest thing to do when you're spriting?

Are you talking making your own "sprites", or the practise of shamelessly stealing/recolouring/altering someone elses?

'Cause if it's the former… noses. Definitely noses.

Do you ENJOY making comics or do you feel it to be more work than it's worth?

If I have a funny idea, (normally brought about by seeing or reading something that sparks it off) then I enjoy it. It's more work than it's worth to just keep to an update schedule though.

I'm not white. :(

Here's a question for all you long time duck users, which version of the site did you like the best? For the beginning to the end, which? For me, I kinda like late 2003-early 2004 version.

Im an American female of German descent, over 25 (since last month). I have two stories on DD of average popularity. I dont play any online games.

My mother always said I'd marry a Japanese guy, but Im proving her wrong by hoping to marry a hispanic guy =)

And I love making comics, but lately it seems like it has detracted me from my more random artwork. Like Im so busy concentrated on the next comic page that I dont draw other things I used to do for fun.

Hmm…question to the Chinese minority group in DD. Are you there?

One right here. Probably a retarded one too.

I would like to know what the phrase "nay sick dzoh fan may ah?" means or implies.

It means 你吃饭了麽? Nah, it means "Have you taken your food?"

Less than 200 kb is fine with me. I've got cable, so it'll still load very fast.
