Poker face? I have a face?
Looking at your face is like looking into the infinite darkness.

I really don't want that to sound racist.

I'm tan-ish, doesn't mean I have to choose a tan-ish mage. And now, not even a mage, so Townston crumbles into MWIII (Mafia War III)! I must host that game!

So has anyone ever had a mafia based on communism? i just had this amazing idea, where the townee's are actually under the old czar rule, and instead of mafia, we're using the rise of the workers…

i wish i had time to run this.

I want to do a crazy game like Hark did. I'm thinking along the lines of.

TFGM was walking along the townston landfill looking for good junk to mark up as "magic supplies." Suddenly he stopped and sniffed the air. He smelled something truly amazing. Eyes glazed, he dropped all the junk he had collected and proceeded to follow the heavenly aroma. Over pile and pile of garbage he walked until he finally saw it. A pile of catnip as tall as ninja was drunk. As wide as Hark was a furry. Throwing all sense aside the cats that make up TFGM leaped from the man suit and ran towards the pile. They played and frolicked all day and all night in the the heavenly drug. But little did they know that underneath all that catnip was mongoose venom. The next day, the citizens and mafia awoke to find the town had been overrun with glowing cats. The glowing made people cautious but the cuteness of the cats drew them near. Once the distance was short enough the cats leaped into action biting and scratching everyone they could find. Every victim of their attack fell unconscious, as their minds were thrown into the collective consciousness of TFGM.

That sounds like fun. But remember. It is Spanish mongoose venom that makes these weird things happen.
Thanks for the info :D

Sure, why not? We're due for another "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" style game.

Thank god it ain't my mind..I think it'd be a great idea, but something I suggest, just a suggestion, the town is always changing, building location, NPC's appear and disappear randomly, steel girders turn soft as butter for no reason, all sortsa stuff that is INSANE!

Rabid Spanish Mongoose venom can do that to ya.

The unwritten rules of mafia have now been written. I went through this entire thread and combined anything we were ever in agreement on and few things that I think we might need to agree upon.

Ni I caught some errors.

* Paramedics cannot protect each other…or the bodyguards.
This has never been the way of my games.
* The horsehead ability can only be used once per person
In my games can't be used on the same player in a row.
* (Unresolved issue) Different things have happened when the mad bomber/godfather go after the paranoid. In some versions the paranoid reacts, but in some they do not. I believe that there should either be a standard, or the GM be specific about what could happen if a bomb/horsehead was planted on the paranoid.
Mad Bomber places bomb and is killed thus killing paranoid. Godfather horsehead doesn't effect paranoid but does kill Godfather.

it is all subject to interpretation. As godfather, I have horseheaded the paranoid in the first game. So I allow it.

And all of the rules were things that were suggested and agreed upon at the time. Nothing is an error.

Sorry I thought when you said "we" I thought you meant "all of us." But apparently I'm not in this "we". I just wanted to be one of the group. Why do you exclude me Ni? Why T.T ?

This is why I promoted the idea of GMs posting their own interpretation of the rules not too long ago. I bet most people don't fully agree with all the unwritten rules just like I don't agree with everything that is written on that list.

While some of the things posted there are good and solid things, like the GM rules, others are guidelines at best. The "what happens when x happens to the paranoid" question is a classic example that has been dealt with in various ways and it's usually up to the digression of the acting GM. You say that the paranoid kills the godfather in case of a horsehead attack; I say that he doesn't.

That is why I put (unresolved) next to the paranoid thing noting that it is something that is case by case.

And Monkey, I didn't go through everyone's GM interpretations. But in the thread there are some cases where someone says, "What about X?" and two people agree with them. That is where a lot of the role stuff came from.

It was very emphatic that the paramedics should not be able to protect bodyguards, for example.

I understand. I go against the majority for most of my rules anyway so I doubt I'd ever be in an agreement with many other players.

I'm considering semi-retiring the mafia comic. The catch-up isn't going so well and I'm afraid I might not be able to keep up with it even if it is caught up.

But semi-retire I mean that I will stop making pages based on narration or if I do, it will only be occasionally. I will still put up any related art in the comic (I can catch and keep up with that at least), but I don't think making pages is working out anymore. I don't have the time for it and I really want to work on some other projects. If people still want to make pages to be put up, that is fine with me. Starting on Sunday, I will start catching up all the image files until now. I will also have a summary and link to the games.

So if anyone has anyone has anything they want to add for the archives, please do it quickly. In fact I will put up a release schedule. One game a day with the exception of 13 and 14.

11/21 - 11/27: The rest of 13 (if there is any left I don't have up), a couple of extras from 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

11/28 - 12/4: 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27

(And so on)

Release schedule update: Mafia 17: The Madness Continues was almost entirely drawn by Rokulily pictures. There are 26 images for it, so I'm going to be releasing it in four chunks. 6 to 7 per day.

The first part will be up on Wednesday.

Crazy roles from my dream (that I had to give rules to)

Mad Dog - Mafia member. Can bring someone of their choice down with them when they get lynched.

Chivalrous Knight - Something like a medic, only they will sacrifice their lives for the person they protect.

Tomato Spy Kid - I really don't know what this role was about because in that dream I crumpled up the role sheet and redubbed myself the vigilante.

I'm dead :(

PP's narration is too confusing for me to follow.

What's confusing about them? I carefully split the narration so that each section clearly follows the death of a single individual. Each part then contains a clue about the identity of the person (or persons) responsible for killing that individual.

I like your narration. In fact: NICE Narration! I just need to educate myself on the players so I can make sense of the clues.
