In hindsight, lynching monkey was pretty smart. He wanted bribes for his vote, so if someone wanted him to vote for someone they'd just bribe him. If his bribing spree continued, it's likely he'd have betrayed the town for a bribe anyways. Lynching jninja was smarter than getting 6 people killed for fun. One death is better than 6 silly ones.

Meh. We've had games that lacked leadership before, where people didn't seem to complain that much. Saying that it's the lack of mayor which is ruining things for you is just scapegoating, IMHO. It's not about the mafia winning either cause they've done so, tons of times. If anything I believe it's about players not caring anymore.

The attitude of the players have been pretty abysmal since day one. It's starts on day one, with monkey proclaiming that he has no interest in the game, since he didn't get an interesting role and effectively votes himself out of the game. While chatting with people on Aim I had to constantly pep some of the players up, so that they wouldn't just give up and quit. I constantly PQ'd herio about how she could use her role in fun ways and she never did anything.

Look. Right now I myself am dragging things down with my rant but it's hard not to, when allot of players are publicly proclaiming that they're leaving for good and/or swearing about how much the other players suck.

I only wanted people to have fun.

Also, I feel as if I should mention this as well about the game break. I know some other had some different mafia ideas that we have though might not fit with the mafia brand. I believe now would be a good time to host something a bit different. It just won't officially be Mafia XXXIII.

I would like to let everyone know that I will continue to update the comic and I will come back when the next official game begins.

Also, if anything has any opinions on how the overall game play of mafia can improve, please please please, make a comment in the discussion thread. If so many people are leaving unhappy, it means something isn't working. If it is something that has to do with the game play, we can fix it. If it has something to do with another player, you have a month to cool off/work things out.

Well I dunno, this was the first non-mayor game I've seen, but I think the lack of care people have is probably partly due to it.

My problem was just that people didn't really seem to care about the game. I'm all for dicking about, but killing ourselves just seems sort of too far. Like I said, I have no issue with losing unless it's our team purposely making ourselves lose.

(Of course it's a compeltely different story when I did it, as that was to annoy Humorman.)

I guess I also just got annoyed that people weren't trusting me for bogus reasons. I guess that's what people want to hear. So there you go.

Day 4 Narration:

"Try it again!" yelled out Salsa as kitty17 swung the rope and threw it again. This time it successfully flew over the lightpost.
"Looks like we're going to have a hanging, after all." said seventy2, all excited. "-we haven't had one of those for a good long while."
"You guys are just wasting your time." chuckled Zeph, all heavily tied up, with a grin on his face. "-The godfather is going to come through and help me. I'm his hero, after all."
"Shush, you." said Kitty as she finished securing the rope. "-we've had enough of you for now."
"Yeah, yeah. Just felt like telling you how futile this all was."
The small crowd ignored him as they prepared the noose and placed it over Zeph's head. A burned down trash can served as his stool.
"There's going to be an intervention, any minute now. The godfather is not going to let me down." proclaimed Zeph, proudly.
The mob looked around for a brief minute as they observed the silent streets.
"Doesn't look like the mob cared that much about you, after all." said salsa and 'kicked the can'.
Zeph struggled for a while as he came to the conclusion that help was not coming.
"but… I was a hero…" he muttered to himself before finally succumbing to the unforgiving gravity that pulled at him as he hung there lifeless.

Meanwhile an individual dragged his cloth along the ground as he approached Niccea, lying on the street.
"Comfortable down there?" asked the paramedic.
"Couldn't be better." grunted Niccea annoyed. "-just help me up already!"

Day 4 is over.

Night 4 has begun.

Well, good thing I have my new iphone to keep me busy at work, since I wont be reading the discussions here. I've had my share of apathy in mafia games, and I haven't been nearly as involved or vigilant as I used to be in a long time. But some of the emotional responses I've seen and attitudes I've discovered have honestly surprised me. As we all know, it's just a game. But in a game that revolves around backstabbing, betrayal, subversion and manipulation, it's inevitable that some people's feelings are going to get hurt.

I'm in full agreement with that part. However, I'm someone who has allot of experience playing a game like that. I own this board game call "Danger Game" that's specifically all about stabbing your teammates heavily in the back. Comes with the warning "Causes friends falling out, breakups and family disputes." I guess that's why playing this game over and over again, doesn't affect me that much (although it still sucks to be the one responsible for the game where resentments are boiling over :().

I did say I could be completely wrong.

It was a possibility.

Hope I wasn't counted as an annoyance-I didn't try to do anything but make outrageous comments claiming everyone else was mafia.

…And I was.

And I've been quite the worthless T-boy haven't I?

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince;
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

I get defensive over trivial or nonthreatening things sometimes due to past suffering. Even though it's no excuse, I apologize to anyone I may have hurt previously. I'm neither angry with nor resentful of anyone; I know that it was nothing personal and I'm truly glad to have gotten to talk to so many of you.

I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU ALL! FUCK YOU GUYS YOU ALL SUCK!
*sniff* I'm sorry, it's just a game! I didn't mean it!
You know… that's actually kinda sweet.
I know I said I'd shaddup, but I feel that need to be pointed out. Also, I think we all do need a short break from the back stabbing. Perhaps a thread where we can all calmly still talk without the game between us, just general "this is on my mind guys" deal ya know? Well, ether way, back to my hole.

I was glad when Kamina died. I just wish everyone would have shut up about it afterward and stopped pretending it was such a big deal.
