I only have one cat left now.

Two of my cats have died in the last month, one of them today. Life is so fragile.

That totally sucks. I started out eight years ago with five cats, one mother and her kittens, and now there's only three left. It always hurts to lose a beloved pet….

I wonder if there's a way to make CS4 think it's incompatible with the video card without screwing up my computer or the way PS works? I'm not exactly a computer tech here though so I have no clue.
Just turning off the Open GL altogether in the performance panel seems to get thigs up to speed. You loose the flicking, rotating and zoom gimmicks, but that's not so bad.

That solution didn't work for everyone on the forums I looked at and it only worked for me with 8 cache levels.

Ah well, as soon as Adobe or Nvidia release a fix I'll change back..

I almost laughed, which is so very wrong in a way but that cat did always make me laugh.

I know what you mean sadly.

Two good things happened today…

first: I have finished pencilling Din Krakatau, delivering the last 21 pages in 6 days which I celebrated with a glass of milk with sugar (have nothing else in the fridge at the moment). Keeping the big celebrations for when I'm REALLY done with the book :D

and second: a friend offered to buy me a either a pc laptop or a macbook!!! And now I'm stuck thinking which would be better, haha (I know there are no drivers for my volito under osx, but apparently you can boot windows from bootcamp?).

blarg, i just can't get back into my comic. It's driving me nuts, maybe it's time for a new coloring style.

Also I got my grandma an ipod, she went through chemo because of cancer and lost all her hair :'( i don't have any of her type of music to put on it so i guess i'll download some Sinatra.

Wow. your friend is pretty generous.
And yes, you can boot xp or vista using bootcamp.its not hard.
or you can use 3rd party software like parallels or vmware fusion to run any os the same time as os x.
A macbook is probably more expensive than your run of the mill laptop, id get a mac tho if you were going to use your computer for more creative things.

Creative things. haha. :)
They're best for looking smooth. Which is good.

Hey, here's something:
New Zealand coins are almost exactly the same as Australian money, except they have different pics on the other side- Aussie money has mostly furry animals on the "tails" side, while New Zealand has almost no animals so they have a Kiwi bird on one and Tikis or other Maori symbols or ships or lizards or something on the rest. And we both have the head of Queen Elizabeth II on the "Heads" side.
But New Zealand money is Always worth way less…

And yet I keep getting New Zealand money back in change…. -_-"

I think the NZeders are trying to steal our Aussie money and replace it with their own in order to bankrupt us. Clever plan you clever NZedrs… Clever.
But I'm on to you

there was a place where you could bring in your pets, and see if they'd get along, and so we did, and they got along perfectly. so we paid like 5 bucks for her, brought her home, named her kitten, and then my little dog tried to assert dominance, and there was a big fight…the husky joined in for sport. they couldnt get along, so i took her back….
Sorry but this was entirely your fault. There are right ways to introduce animals, and then there are wrong ways.

Edit: "putting new animals in a room together to see what they do" is the wrong way, but seventy2 says the cat had the room to herself for a week and a litterbox etc so that is better. So, sorry if I jumped to premature conclusions. :)

Rant update: Still don't want to work! At least I'm not feeling sick any more, but now it's Friday afternoon (almost) and I wish I could knock off early instead of try to catch up on all the stuff I didn't get done out of laziness earlier in the week. :[ That always catches up with me…

Yeah, apparently I was the only one to listen when he badly needed someone to talk to on a couple of occasions and he's been telling me since then that he's going to help me with my "creative career" and I guess that's his way :D

Edit: forgot to get to the point. I think I'll see first if he can get me something XP friendly with enough usb ports (so that I can still use my old scanner and wacom volito2 which have NO osx drivers, I checked already) and then make my choice. Seeing as both are pretty light, adding them to the bag together with some paper and pencils wouldn't be that difficult :)

Awwww so you play therapist? <3 That's so cute. ^_^

For OS X you actually dont need drivers for most things. Which is one of the first things I learned.
Even if it says windows only, if you plug it in generally it works. I'd test your stuff on a mac before thinking you have limitations. Honestly, Ive never come across something that didn't work with my mac. *pets*

Actually, I checked around in couple of places and you can force volito2 to work if you use old enough drivers for Graphire/Intuos (they removed the support for it as it was deemed as a "bug" or something, I guess you can't have such cheapo tablet work under mac :P )… but… These drivers won't work on the intel powered macs as they're too old.
And my scanner came with win 95/98 drivers and I had to install Win 2k driver through some special installer to use it under xp so I'm not even going to bother looking that up, doubt it'll be supported.

I'm sure apple has good support for newer hardware, but ancient antiques and discontinued models? Don't think so.

Well, I'll give it some thought anyway, there's no need to decide it in a hurry :)

Urgh! I've found the perfect illustration job for me doing t-shirt designs that's on a continuing freelance basis, but all I have for a portfolio to show them is Last Words and a series of toy designs I've created. It's such a pathetic portfolio. I'm not even sure that the toy designs are good enough to show as portfolio work but I don't have anyone to get a second opinion from.

My legs are so sore :(
I've been doing half hour walks everyday. Apparently, I'm burning roughly 400 calories each time, and going for 2 miles. Today, I went down to 20 minutes, but did 1 and a half miles, and 300 calories.

It's totally worth it though.
I have all the ladies checkin me out :]
And I'm finally feeling some amazing inspiration coming for the comic. And I'm going to draw as much as I possibly can tonight. I really really want to get at LEAST 2 pages done.

They're still needed… even if that functionality is nicely hidden on Macs. I know since I've has to work with them on big graphic design jobs in the past, setting up a network with them, trying to use lots of different printers and devices with them. It's not always that straightforward when you go off the beaten track of using newer and more popular gear. In the end it's just as tricky as Windows stuff in many ways.

So I like to doodle at therapy because it helps my hand, elbow and shoulder. So someone noticed who has written two children's books. She's asked me to illustrate them.

I have lost nearly all interest in one of my hobbies, one that I've enjoyed for 30+ years. And I have a closet and a storage unit full of stuff for it. I could sell it all off and start American War of Independence reenacting or something. :) Maybe start doing another web comic. lol!

You know those pesky Canadians have been sneaking their coins into the USA for years. Now they've fooled us because their money is worth the same as the USA's! But their dollar is stronger against the Euro, go figure. You price something from Europe in the USA and then in Canada and it's cheaper in Canada! It's even cheaper in Singapore even after paying for postage across the Pacific!

Though stuff from Eastern Europe is no longer cheap, the pesky Euro versus Eastern European currency versus the US dollar. Yuck.

have you ever been so intimate with something(computer program perverts), and then just stop using it do to not enough time, and when you come back to it, you realize you remember less than the basics?

i procured autoCAD 2002, and i was going to use it to start designing again. small things like, new place layout. and i realized, alls i remember were a few simple commands. nothing that would help me get into the actual housing or anything. i couldnt remember how to do dimensions, or anything. i know i know how to use it, my teacher asked if i had ever given thought to architecture as a career path, and that was the first time EVER, i had thought about a seperate life outside the military. our first massive project in class was to design a house in steps. first step was floor plan, followed by house design, landscape, then 3d layout. i was done in 3 weeks, 2 weeks ahead of the next person to finish. 3 weeks ahead of our due date. and with my free time i went on to teach my self the rest of the autodesk suite….i need to stop before i start rambling about how great high school was.

the point is i forget everything, and now i feel like the ultimate loser.

You aren't alone. I've learned quite a few things I've forgotten over my short life. From what few bits of C++ I had managed, to all of Basic, to most of Java, to really anything I wanted to learn.

But I find you manage to remember more if you really dive back in. It'll come slowly, but it will come, and probably easier than the first time. Problem is finding the time….

So I have outside cats on the front porch, and we recently hauled away the gross old mattress they were sleeping on(because it's gross) I laid out one of my dad's gross old jackets for them to lay on and they did, i felt so bad that that was the only thing i could give them so I drove out to pets mart to buy them an expensive, clean pet bed. They didn't like it :gem: They ran away from it and told me it was 'meicky' :gem: So they still sleep on that old jacket while my new pet bed cries in the corner from rejection.
