i'm having fun. yesterday at work we did 20 pushups every half hour, for 11 hours. we're pretty sore.
For fun or…?

I could manage that, but it'd leave me feeling tired as anything at the end of the day. :(

Train driver strike tomorrow… May take the day off work and they can e-mail me stuff instead. The bus is a bit too much of a pain- takes too long to get there and the walk is too far. Bugger that for a joke. :P

is there another reason to?

lulz. yeah it was for fun. our goal is to do 50, every half hour, for the entire workday..

you should get a car. that way you aren't affected by meaningless things like train driver strikes.

I cant leave my damn room because my brothers girlfriend is here. I cant put clothes on either because i have OCD about getting a shower before i put anything i didnt wear to bed on. Ive been here for 5 hours. Im starting to get hungry.
Also I was supposed to fill 5 a1 pages of art for tomorrow. Its all in the kitchen. How do i explain not having it done? My brothers girlfriend was here and i was afraid to get out of bed?

That's why I owned an oversized terrycloth bathrobe back in those days. I'd sneak to the shower in the bathrobe so I could put on a new set of clothes before facing the world. I also learned how to sneak into the bathroom because people can't be everywhere so I'd go when they weren't paying attention. They have to eat eventually so once they head off to the kitchen I sprint into the bathroom and lock the door.

It took fourteen weeks in army Basic Training to get over that. You learn not to miss what you can't have. I can't control this so I have to live with it. I had to learn to get out of my own way.

You want to be successful at anything? Get out of your own way and go for it. You're usually the biggest obstacle in anything you want to achieve.

Screw me, I'm gonna piss me off and do this just to spite myself.

Argh, I'm going to university in nine days now, and the thing I'm most worried about is making friends. I don't drink, I'll be commuting from home and I'm not experienced in clubbing at all. :/ Advice?

Don't go clubbing. I learned this lesson my freshman year. Some people on my housing block went clubbing and came back with two boys that had run away from home to get tattoos… Needless to say, I never went clubbing.

Possibility: Check out the campus library, different hours, different areas. Sometimes some of the floors/wings can be far more social than studious.

Friday morning (well, it's not even 4am so you could say it's still night)… I'm going to work in a bit over an hour and this might be my last day (again). Or tomorrow might be it, assuming they don't extend our contracts. There is a chance they will though and they might though cause right now there are orders and tons of reworks to do.

Hell, they might even give us a week of 12 hour shifts… which if it happens I hope it's the night shift, cause that one pays a lot more. Two lines are already doing these, so ours might be doing it too (especially since we were having tons of problems so our production has been lagging and we might have to catch up).

Or we'll get fired, heh.

At work afterall. Trains are running every half hour. That's a longer wait, sure, but ok enough to get to and from work.

That's true. But his predicament is quite funny ^_^
I won't pretend I never did anything similar lol!

Uni is just like highschool in terms of getting work done and being responsible and all that. They just treat you like more of an adult and people tend not to act like such babies like they do in highschool (ie pretending to be adults and worldly etc.). You have more freedom because you're seen as being more adult, unfortunately a lot of kids abuse that freedom by being more childish -not doing work, skipping classes, getting drunk, whatever…
Go clubbing if you really want to, but don't feel like any sort of crazy behaviour is required of you because you're in Uni now.

As for friends, you'll probably find a lot of students there with similar interests in your classes and things.

Exercising nude is better too! -cleaner, cooler.
And all my exercising has paid off nicely, I've got a nice shape and decent abbs… could always do more but today it has left me absolutely rooted T_T
Ugh!

I'm going to pretend I didn't read the last part of Oz's post.

I've just realized that the work days I get headaches (like today) are the days where I have some annoying/undesirable thing I need to get finished, or are going to be difficult for some reason. I am hoping that awareness of a psychologically-induced headache will make it go away. Does it work like that?

The stupid thing is that whenever I get started on whatever it is, I don't care, it's no problem to get done. I just develop a big mental block about some things and it's the starting that is hard.

The good news is that I have been drawing more. Only bits and pieces mostly, but I do have two bigger things I'm working on. :] It's slow but I'm chipping away at it! Eventually I hope to get back into the habit/schedule to make more comics.

Lastly, ARRRGH UK settlement stuff. So much to do. Stupid forms, letters on official stationery, and a test with lots of numbers and dates. Why does anyone think those kinds of tests are still important.

Finally bought my xbox, but what pisses me off is i found one from dell for 270$+free shipping and the damn thing got a 'page temp unavailable' right before the confirmation. So i bought the expensive one from amazon. better to pay 37$ extra from a site that doesn't fuck up orders. =_=

Arrrrgg i'm typing on this retarded keyboard for people with carpel tunnel at school. it's so clunky and types so noisy and why is 'n' larger than the enter key???

So, Saturday work is over, did not get a message about being fired nor did we get 12 hour shifts… not yet anyway. Supposedly we got so many orders that we have work scheduled until at least the end of October and possibly all the way up to December. Might be nice, being able to buy some special food on christmas for once, haha.

Plans for the weekend: finally send off my files to Ka-Blam, sketch some stuff, read some comics…

Speaking of pushups… I can't do any, but on Friday for the first four hours I've been tossing the tv sets onto the pallettes. That's roughly 15-20kg at this size (32inch) per box, depending on the brand. I think that counts as exercise in a way too, heh.

Buuuut after those four hours it came out that they have a really slow woman in the Testing area, so since I worked there (and was remembered by the Testing Leader cause she was leading the shift that came after mine on the line I worked on before) we got switched. Not sure what she's doing in the Packing area now, but certainly not putting the sets up (there are regulations about weight limits so women aren't allowed to do that job).

Anyway, the job she was meant to do was this… wait for the tv to arrive and stop in front of her. Plug in the RF cable. See if it's turned on (green light) or off (red light)… if it's off, turn it on, if on, press ONE button to switch from analog to digital tv. Then choose channel 13, wait for it to appear and see if there's sound and picture. If it's fine, that's all, just send the tv on its way!
It's one of the easiest fucking things in the whole goddamn world, how can you fuck that up?
CABLE + ONE BUTTON + SELECT CHANNEL + LOOK/LISTEN

I can't imagine how confusing would be the thing I did on that other model today (after that one ended). plug in two wires (one being the RF one, the other one just audio jack for the next test) choose channel 800, hit OK, check image and sound, switch to RGB mode (for the next test) and unplug the RF cable. If it fails to show, switch to Power Only mode, repeat the steps.

ok, end of the work rant :D

I did the math and realized that I slept over 17 hours yesterday/last night. That's apparently what getting two hours of sleep a night for a week will do to you. I'm rather disappointed too as I believe I missed a birthday party for an illustrator I know and she's quite the attractive thing.

Ya i got the new slim, which is sad because i bet i wont even use 10% of that hardrive space. I pretty much picked it because it's better looking. Score for microsoft.

Comic is coming out okay. I'm wondering if i should color it on the library computers, but then people do that 'lean back in chair + creepy mouthbreather glance at my screen'. Someone recommended i pretend to no notice and bring up hardcore German gay porn.

You might be surprised, I got the black one with the big hard drive because that's what Costco had, and never thought I'd use the space. But savegames, demos I never get round to deleting, downloaded classic games, etc all take away space, and there's a couple games I've installed to the HD to reduce loading times. Better to have too much than not enough anyway.

I kind of want to play Okami again but I'm too lazy to dig out my PS2 and hook everything up.

I also caved and bought the Avatar:TLA dvds and I really just want to sit down and watch them all straight through. But I'm forcing myself to only watch them if I am doing art. So hopefully they will last a while AND I will get art done. :]

Lastly, I wasted today because I took a mostly accidental nap. :[

Accidental naps are so unpredictable. I'll probably be taking one myself shortly, once this bottle is empty.

Look at those three dashes. Everybody puts three dashes but I have no idea what that means. I'm assuming it's a kind of page break, "here's a new thought" type of thing but how am I supposed to know? Is it written down anywhere? For all I know it means "look at me, I'm a gay wildebeast" yet here I am, happily typing it out.

Because voice over segues are hard to pull off when typing.

In other news;

Everytime the weather lately changes I get a migraine. Summer is slipping into fall and the humidity in New Jersey is jerking my head all over the pain spectrum. I'm having trouble thinking which means I go hit the video library. I watched all nine hours of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Nicholas Nickleby and the four hours of Longitude and sat there counting how many actors had appeared in both series and how many had also appeared in Sharpe. Clears my head.

It's a convention we've developed to separate our response to another person's statement (or a response to an idea bought up in the thread), from our own personal rant/vent news that we post underneath. So the two don't get confused in the minds of the reader.

A new paragraph doesn't quite do it, there is still that implied connection and it's only seen as another set of ideas on the same subject presented after a brief pause.
