i believe that MADD started as something good. but much like unions and governments, became over sized and bad.
so i'm between oz and kyupol here.

I'm disciplined enough to go to the gym, and do the 4-5 exercises i can with a messed up foot and shoulder….then do the 25-30 minutes of stretching that accompanies all workouts regardless of length.
but when i go to that chow hall….food. my weakness. i've been trying to get things to go. but that's hard because i end up grabbing some snacks, and then i lounge around…

I actually do not drink. I only drink one or two drinks at a party just so I wont be viewed as rude.
Of course I dont like drunk drivers. But to violate our rights and get cops to do random breathalizers is wrong.

I've no idea what could be a problem with an anti drunk driver movement…? We've had random breath testing here in Australia since the 1980's, it's not a big deal.
And I don't drive so I don't really care either way. …I mean, if the person driving you is stopped, that's annoying, but I definitely don't want to be driven by someone too tipsy to drive properly anyway.
What do these MADD ladies do anyway? Are they against porn or something as well? Because I'm all for porn, so I wouldn't like that.
my boyfriend lent me the first volume of "the preacher" and now im hooked! i'm up to issue 7 today, and since im baby sitting tonight and earning more money, i'll probably buy volume 8 tommarow which means only one more after that. finally i'll get to know what happens between cass and tulip and jesse and blah blah blah. dammit! why are comics so addictive. cuz youknow what? after im done with this series, and i think "now i can spend my money on more practical things like food and a home for myself", i'll just get addicted to another comic series!
…anyone got any sugggestions on which series i should tackle next?

What do these MADD ladies do anyway? Are they against porn or something as well? Because I'm all for porn, so I wouldn't like that.
They might be on a personal basis, but MADD is only about drunk driving, specifically teenaged drunk driving mostly as I recall. In all actuality, they're not particularly crazy or dangerous so far as lobbyist groups go. They team up with students against drunk driving a lot and do those PSA things you probably sat through during high school, telling you to avoid drinking too much doing, drugs, generally making an ass of yourself, etc. They probably cause about as much damage and don't get taken much more seriously by most people as the lunatic conspiracy guy Alex whats-his-name.

I managed to snare myself a contract with the local NBA team to do some stuff for their reading program in the city here. I'm excited about the opportunity, but dreading the work it's adding to my week. I've probably got a good 40 hours to put into this by next Friday on top of the other two jobs and other stuff I have for this week.
I have a pretty great job. I got into work today and there was a whole bunch of stuff sitting in the back.
My manager: So, that stuff in the back…
Me: Yeah?
Her: You haven't been told yet?
Me: No…
Her: Yeah, we get to take that all home.
Me: :O
Turns out there was some $4000 dollars worth of stuff that was discontinued and didn't sell in a year. So it was written off and we got to take it all home(the stuff we don't want we'll donate to shelters). I brought home some $300 worth of stuff, I think. Yay : )
Unexpected free stuff is awesome. My pets are getting super spoiled with me working there.
Well the football team at where I go to college lost today, that means pissy fans, which means little in the way of tips and angry drunks. I like where I work, I really do, it's just that most of the bars in town are in our delivery range, and People tend to ignore things like, oh I don't know, pedestrians are not supposed to walk down the middle of the bloody street. YEah tonight's going to be fun, speaking of which I gotta go.
Ok, 12 hour shift, starting Monday till Friday (except for Thursday cause it's some holiday). Ugh. With my fucked up sleeping patterns I can barely make it through an 8 hour working day at times, how the hell am I gonna last through 12?
I'm tired cause I sleep too few hours. But even if I get the full 8 hours I'm still tired anyway, as if it was built into my system by now.
I wish I could dump this shit and lock myself away for a year to draw, draw, draw, draw and draw.

Turned out too tall for some reason… but all the colours are nicely unified around a theme and I've not used any borders/gutters or whatever between panels for the third time in a row. It's fun making panels fit together without borders!
Plus, it's got boob-sweat.

So I got a Tumblr, and I have no idea what to do with it. Apparently I shouldn't use it the same way that I use Twitter for so I'm very lost. The line between nanoblogging and microblogging is rather blurred for me.
I just got back from the ten day cruise to the Caribbean on Royal Caribbean International. I went to Labadee, Haiti, Samana, Dominican republic, St Thomas and St John's USVI, and St. Kitts. There was a great Halloween parade and all that stuff, my team won a pile of trivia competitions so I have a pile of Royal Caribbean logo stuff and the food was great. There were also presentations on the sea days by a renowned parapsychologist which were very impressive for this skepic.
And best of all I finished the script for the first sequel to my present comic. Mad manical laughter!

first 12 hour night = survived. Now it's only Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday… and then a 4 hour shift on Saturday (fucking bastards, they can't keep us at work for the 5th 12 hour day plus they'd get fined extra for doing it so right before switching to first shift so they force us to come for these damned four hours).
I woke up at noon, feeling somewhat fresh and stuff. Actually had a good sleep for once. Then at work around 1am I started to get really tired and the last two hours I was walking in a haze, I just hope I didn't break any tv sets. Today I woke up around noon again (and I got home at 7am so you can count how much I have slept) and I'm already tired even though it's barely 2pm. Gah…
Supposedly we'll get a couple of days off next week cause they'll be spilling the same toxic shit around that knocked out over ten people a bit over two Saturdays ago. But then they're also supposed to do another 12 hour shift after that (again on second shift).

SO— loosely interpreted, this might be an R,M,R, but this post is more about letting y'all know that there's been a proposal (by me) to have a "Drunk Duck ‘Name That Voice’" Contest.
The proposal is on p. 2 of the WTH thread, which is now red (?)
Already I have a revision, which is to include additional audios, such as Ironscarf’s wackawacka thing-y. I’m sure we’d all like to hear that.
And if there’s no interest, no problem. Just spreading the word to see if it should get a go.
I just found out how much this project I'm working on is worth ( if you're guessing even $50,000 you need to guess higher. ) and now I just can't bring myself to put any more time into it. I've put in 50-60 hours on this thing already in the last week, and still have a good 20 more to go before it goes to print on Friday, and I just can't do it. I'm not getting anywhere near what I'm supposed to, and I don't much care if I'm "inexperienced" or "getting a lot of exposure from this". I just can't justify it any more. I don't mind doing small jobs for really cheap or free, and I have no problem with sharing and asking for ideas or volunteering so long as they're upfront about that it's volunteer work, but this level of work required without much of anything for compensation gets me.

I just found out how much this project I'm working on is worth…That's the reality of a lot of those things man. If you want to work in the field, that's the sort of thing that can often happen.
You can always simply quit.
If you're ever doing a free job, or one as a "favour" for very little compensation, and the client is way too fussy about details and changes then you should just quit. They haven't paid for that service from you so they shouldn't get it. Changes and fussing is EXTRA.
In a normal job you should have that in your contract- initial sketches and a couple of revisions included in the basic price, then after that all changes cost extra. How much extra is up to you- enough to pay for all the bother basically, or simply the extra time you'll be putting into it.
But for free jobs or ones for little money , they get what they're given, unless they're really, REALLY nice and helpful, and friendly about it.
And you like them :)
