Well… after seeing that pic Ozone drew, I think I'll post the link to this video…

Youtube Video: Giraffes in the Air

A minute in, for a few seconds… the song will actually make sense since it isn't actually about giraffes in the air… :)

I wouldn't mind seeing Ozone draw a special pic of Pinky TA as a tribue to Duke Nukem's return… Y'know… a pic of her dressed in Duke's attire standing on a pile of very dead enemies (or her mech) armed with her trademark weapon.
*had to edit since I keep forgetting that forum admins of Drunkduck aren't like other forum admins… they actually read comments rather than having a room full of monkeys do it for them*

Mmmm… Yuban's done cooking. er… I mean coffee. :)

Well, in a little under a day and a half, the Discovery will touch down for the last time. It will also mark the last time Robert McCall's patches will soar the starry skies.

The man not only designed this patch, but the first mission patch for the shuttle program and the last Apollo mission patch. He died late last month.

I could just copy something I wrote on another forum, but I think a link will do.

"All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by."

My week could get worse. But im only saying that because if I say it couldn't then it'll most likely get worse. Last week was pretty bad.
My fish died. Not really a big deal but my dog died as well today.
Ive got a mystery ailment that I'm not telling anyone about but its been causing depression, lack of sleep and fatigue. Also itching.

Patch stuff
Not bad. :)
I do stuff like that for a living so I have a massive insight into the merits of that badge. The big limitation there is the amount of detail and the amount of different colours… Colours are mainly a cost issue though and I doubt they ever worry about that at NASA!
The shuttle could have done with more simplification.

Apart from that it strikes a great balance between looking fantastic and being functional!
The wording is at a good size and thickness for retaining clarity and legibility after embroidery, the colours look great, and the shapes make good use of the circle format.

My week could get worse.
That is a shit week man!
I'm really sorry about your dog and fish :(

And I really have no desire to do any more pages for the comic. I have two updates left but I just don't want to finish it off. Here I am on scene 43 and there's only seven left.

Why don't you want to finish it? lost enthusiasm or just feeling lost when you're done?

News flash: I live in Iceland, and it's snowing…. a good 5cm (about two inches) in the capitol, which means that this is the snowiest day of this season. How it made me chuckle when all the city folks were trying to heat their cars and scrape (didn't even know that was the appropriate word, but it does the work) the snow off..

In other, unrelated news… went bowling for the first time last night and it was fun, albeit my delicious score of 27… but instead I beat my buddies at pool ^^
aaaaaand my 50% groupwork assignment is due in two days… frack me, better herd the cats that make up my group -.-*

Yesterday was depressing.

The inability to further ink the already started comic has gotten to me so badly, that I didn't drew anything for an entire day. Result? First day this year that I didn't progress on my comics.
So I decided to invent something else and came up with "Weekend Automata", which is meant to be short comics based on automatic drawing/writing. No plot, no script, just a piece of paper, a pencil and a gelpen to ink it.
It's meant to kill two birds with one stone for I attempt to post these at my site (my blog badly needs regular updates).

Meanwhile I'm rereading the script for the big vampire project and making notes on necessary visual research.

Yesterday was depressing.

The inability to further ink the already started comic has gotten to me so badly, that I didn't drew anything for an entire day.
My day was kinda similar, in that instead working on comics or drawing I spent most of the time writing copy for a marketing campaign and using previously made drawings for the graphic elements. Saying "I penciled 10 pages today" feels so much better than "I wrote ten drafts of this. Only one of them will ever be used." I think my favorite line is still from last year's marketinging campaign: "family friendly enough to be safe, pagan enough to be fun."

——————————-
It looks like my best friend and his girlfriend are hanging out again. Which is doubly good because I'm scheduled to hang out with her this evening, and the fact that she has a source for physical comfort dramatically decreases a conflict of interests for me. I was worried enough about it that I sat down and chatted with him last night, which was a little bit awkward but not too bad. Basically it boiled down to him saying that he trusted me- in that if anything happened, I'd have her best interests in mind as much as he would. Of course, considering recent improvements, it's probably a non-issue.

The amount of trust that people put in my discretion is phenomenal some times. I dunno what's in *anybody's* best interest, I just have a tendency to try to make every situation a little more constuctive. I guess that's close enough ._.

———————————
I posted my first filler today. I'm not the happiest with it, but the news item was already pretty stale so it was use-it-or-lose-it time.

Ha ha ha… I've gone and messed up my comics template layout. I just wanted to change it from the boring white background… and I know nothing about coding. Ha ha ha…

I wish I could pencil ten pages. I managed to do that just once, two days in a row, and since then I can't get close to it. But then again it was right after getting fired from the very annoying job and being able to draw for the first time in ages, so obviously I took the time to go crazy and just drew, drew, drew…

I just decided that this long thing will be the visually most grand thing I drew so far (with no panels ever dropping below the level of illustrations I did for Inkbook… although possibly cartoony faces will slip in there anyway) so I want to design the visual as well as I can.

I wonder if it'd be feasible to do that and a simplier project at the same time? A page of this, a page of that. Hmm…

You'll always bitch, no matter how good life gets. and i'm not picking on you, i do it too, and everyone i know does it.

It's also something i'm trying to change.
——-

I'm starting that caveman diet tomorrow, and i just took some "before" photo's. although they're not exactly fair. I'm a healthily active 25 year old male, not quite athletic, but i get out a lot more than most people i know. I've never been skinny, (or toned in the abdomen region) but i wasn't fat 2 weeks ago. I've been on vacation from exercise (and work) and pretty much my meals have been fast food and bread. so right now, i'm larger than i would be normally.
so what i'm saying is the "before" pictures don't represent the normal me, and if the diet works for me like it did for my buddy, there will be a large difference in photo's.

Kinda like what diet pill commercials do to show they "work"

I've lost my mojo. Comic pages re not getting finished and I can't summon the will to do them. time for breakfast then some serious exercise, maybe that will help.

Ugh… I'm trying to climb out of this rut myself, but so far nothing I've tried is doing anything. Except
maybe putting me even deeper in this canyon called a "rut". Maybe if I went to sleep for a couple of days
straight…. or maybe not…

tomorrow is the last forum before the College Senate votes on the presidents budget cuts. Hopefully we can convince them not to reduce the entire Arts and Humanits Division to dust (this includes cutting Film, Television, Radio, Journalism, and sending Art, Music and Theater into a Community Education area"

It would really suck to lose out on some great programs :(

Polititains always go for the arts and various social programs because they're soft targets: by cutting those they LOOK as if they're doing something an it appeals strongly to a conservative base, when in reality it's less than nothing really.

It saves them from cutting funding to the people who pay for their campaign success and keep them in power: Keep the tax breaks for the wealthy, and all the concessions, grants, contracts and acquisitions keep going to the same people etc. All the things that could in reality really and truly make a difference to budget problems will never be touched and in the mean time the majority continue to massively subsidise the fortunes and the lifestyles of a wealthy few while politicians and conservative think-tanks spin things so it seems like the opposite is true.

Pinky TA has updated! YAY!!!!!!

But I still have to put Genejoke's fanart up online… While doing that I realised that I have a whole wodge of fanart that I've just been sitting on for months so now I have to construct more and more webpages for it, gather more links etc. This is turning out to be a massive job. I shouldn't have left it so long…
I will need an assistant one day :(

Reminds me of a news report from the other week about cuts affecting sports for school kids. The people campaigning to stop the cuts used the argument that cutting the funding would lead to a rise in childhood obesity. Such a lame argument it hurts, the kids benefiting from it aren't the fat kids but the already athletic ones. I have no issue with them trying to keep the funding but use a better argument FFS.

I did a page and as far as mojo? It's long gone. Not feeling up about anything except sleeping. :)

It's crap.

Man, for a 17 page sequence I'll have to do as much designs and research as for an entire 50 page chapter before it. Oh well, at least I have gotten to page 166 with my notes.

Oh well, at least I'll be able to use that for another project in the future too (which happens in a setting inspired by the same culture).

At least the first four chapters (out of 11 + prologue) are written down in my "research shopping list".

I'll try for one more today.

I'm starting to fear this project. It might actually force me into making 3d models of certain locations, heh.
