@Skullbie: glad your Dad IS okay - that's a lot of pollution he's racked up. btw: I love reading the updates on your chicks; they crack me up.

@Genejoke: Congrats to you and the Mrs! this is the itchy year, if Marilyn Monroe pictures are anything to go by.

@1337: I don't know what kind of piano music they use (in fact, I think it's the bongos that I really hear) but I like most stuff by Guster and Vampire Weekend

The wife convinced me to buy something called a grapple. (grape-ul). this is an abomination against fruit kind. it looks like an apple, it crunches like an apple, but it tastes like grape kool-aid. what. the. frack.

Damnit i got woken up at the asscrack of dawn because dad's cigarette smoke is wafting in my room, and now i can't fall asleep or focus because it's motherfucking cold. I'm so angry hulk SMASH

He's never shown interest in quitting even once when he does like 4 packs a day. How the hell can you chainsmoke for 44 years ears and have working lungs??

I remember one guy I had to deal with while being assigned to a condominium compound (basically a bunch of buildings that are rented/owned in a secure fenced in area). There was this one guy who was constantly drunk. Apparently his wife is doing all the work and all he does is drink because I've never seen him sober even once. How can one person be drunk 24/7 and not have their liver burn out? O_O

I can't decide if my favorite part of it is when it instructs you to "pluck with dignity" or to "inflate the circus clowns". :)

So they're claiming on Yahoo news now that they've killed Osama Bin Laden and have his body in possession (talk about left field). Do you think it's legit?

Re Osama- Probably legit. It's just a political win now.
After the deaths of so many in the Afghan and Iraq invasions, not to mention the Libyan bombings, Osama sort of pales in comparison as the cartoon badguy now. If he'd have lived 1000 years I doubt he could have been that destructive. -_-

Dammit i was trying to help you out by giving out the real link, but DRUNK DUCK IS ANTI GAGA1337.

Why, because I think in terms of the bigger picture?

I'm sorry, but it's really, really hard to muster much excitement over the death of that one guy when put against a decade of war that used him as justification.

The only positive I take out of it is that it may boost Obama's chances for re-election

Seconded.

There is so much anti-American sentiment in the Middle East its really bizarre to think that terrorist attacks will stop just because of his death. :/ But then again, here in America people love the hype.

Considering he is the face of that organization, yes, it is understandable for people to get excited and be happy about it. Does it mean all our problems will magically go away, or that the wars were somehow retroactively justified? No.

But at the same time it doesn't mean you should sit there and be a dick and go "gheh, so what B)"

terrorist attacks will stop just because of his death.

I don't think anyone is dumb enough to believe that, no.

You raise a good point. I didn't think there were people dumb enough to believe all drugs should be legal, but apparently they exist.

@nicotine

I don't agree Americans so much like hype as the media stations do, which are pretty much political mouthpieces. We'll be hearing about this non-stop for the next month mark my words. -.-

No one's saying terrorism is just going to stop (unless they're FULL RETARD) but it is exciting news to hear.

Why is my room constantly messy?? I just cleaned it 2 days ago and it's turned back into the lair of slimfast soda can pokeyman dirty laundry butt hole again.

I never said it wasn't positive news, it is a good step in the right direction, but it's no where near the end of this country's problems.

And Americans do love to hype things, lol, if not then then news stations wouldn't be that way. I'm just waiting for the t-shirts and bumper stickers to come out for this, it's bound to happen.

And people *are* already implying "this is the end of the conflict in Afghanistan!" and "the war on terrorism is over" already. I'd have never said that if people weren't already going around and saying it. Is it a dumb assumption, um, obviously, but people are saying it and there are a lot of stupid people.

I saw an expert on CNN saying that, I don't know if there's video or an article on the site, but when the news broke out I was watching mostly CNN.

They do, I know some and believe it or not some of them are very intelligent people.

I think the problem is they assume that people won't abuse them so much if they are legal… which comes back to not underestimating stupidity.

You are more of a reactionary sort of person who doesn't really think about consequences and implications that much. I don't blame you for that, it's just who you are, (or at least that's my impression of you), but it's also what usually gets you into trouble with other people.

I'd just ask you please refrain for the "idiot" commentary and any other personal attacks just because you happen to disagree with me.

For me, thinking back on the wars and how long they've been going on makes celebration of Osama's death seem like disrespect for the all those who've died, especially the Afghani's and Iraqi's. If Osama had been killed back in 2002 or something though, then the story would be different.

@Genejoke- the implications of drug legalisation are extremely complex. I'm afraid the "stupidity" of the lowly user is a very minor point in the entire equation (economies of manufacture, international supply chains, how the value inflated by illegality vastly distorts 3rd world economies creating further and greater problems…). It's probably something best discussed in the DD section if you want to go beyond the superficial sort of stuff we might put here.

Okay Osama Bin-Laden is dead. That's what Navy SEALS are for. War's over. Bring the troops home.
Forty-six thousand total US casualties in ten years, just declare victory and bring'em home.
I'll even vote for Obama's re-relection if he does that.

The SEALs got him in Pakistan doesn't that put lie to our continued presence in Afganistan?
