The SEALs got him in Pakistan doesn't that put lie to our continued presence in Afganistan?

but then the country will collapse, the society will fall into the wrong hands again…blah blah blah political rhetoric.

We'll be over there until the end of time.
———-

Also, the hate of america in the middle east seams to be country specific. it's more the countries we're not in.

the implications of drug legalisation are extremely complex. I'm afraid the "stupidity" of the lowly user is a very minor point in the entire equation (economies of manufacture, international supply chains, how the value inflated by illegality vastly distorts 3rd world economies creating further and greater problems…). It's probably something best discussed in the DD section if you want to go beyond the superficial sort of stuff we might put here.

Think it has already been done there. A lot of good would come from it but I don't think it would outweigh the bad.

Tornados, and now flash floods. Really? Ugh. Well, I guess I'm doing my grocery shopping now before the torrential rain hits. Also, I just found out my grandma died. She was almost ninety, I suppose I should have seen it coming. So why is it still so shocking? :(

Ooh, I found it again! The old pencil!

You know these mechanical pencils that instead of these super thin leads hold hese 3-4 times thicker ones? I found the one that I misplaced ages ago. It'll sure as hell help me fill up large black areas and draw thick lines.

Right now I'm doing random doodles and testing out two options. 1) draw 2 panels on a standard A4 page. 2) draw each panel on a separate sheet and then stick them together.

First one's faster, second one will let me do more detail.

There's also technically a third option. Treat two sheets not as panels but as tiers and simply assemble each page out of two (like a lot of old European comics did, just look at Tintin or Blueberry). But the one project where I want to use that one is meant to be pretty long so I don't know if I want to tackle that one just yet.

- - -

I think I've done something nasty to my back a couple of days ago. No idea what, but suddenly my upper left back/shoulder was in pain whenever I moved my head. A friend says I have most likely slept on a pressure point and now there's a cluster of very tense nerves there (or something like that, I'm most likely misquoting him). Anyway, today's the third day of agony and massaging the shoulder + a hot bath have helped quite a lot already. Problem is, there are moments I don't feel it at all so I forget about it… and then get stabbed by sharp pain whenever I move too quickly.
But it should clear up in a couple of days.

- - -

Yeah, I need to get some food in me and perhaps go practice drawing some more.

My son just walked up to me and said:
"Get to the point mom."

To which I replied:
"What? But I didn't say anything, baby."

So he said:
"Get to the point…point…poin….coin…coin….corn….corn field. Get to the cornfield momma!"

Did I miss something?

Sorry about your back Aurora. Have you considered going to a chircopractor? It really helped my back feel relief after my wreck.

Oh boy, big news day over here.

Osama, of course. Also it's the Canadian Federal Election. (NDP would be close to a win if our voting system wasn't so horribly broken, booooo. Looks like another minority government for Harper the bully.)
And more locally, a teacher from our school(except he moved to a different school this year) ran off with a 16 year old student. In our school this one overshadowed the last two a bit, ha.

My day sucks. Sure, Osama died, but as others have said it's taken long and damage is forever. Plus, that was yesterday. Today, I listened to metal while shaving, so i skinned my right side of the nose. I had to deal with the same nosy annoying retard. like every school day. and we got more people for movie club, but now our results SUCK.

Sick of hearing about Osama's death.
No offence to the insanely patriotic here.
Sick of writing stories for my comic and I cant digitalize them so theres no point.
Sick of college.

Good things however.
Ive sent off an application form for a job at the music festival Oxygenin Dublin this year.
The job is bar staff. One of those beer tent things. They pay for your travel to work and put you in a hotel for time youll be working. Its only a couple of days too and I hear the pay is good.
I really hope I get this.

Someone who animates at College Humor is giving me a precise crash-course into doing model sheets for my characters. I'd like to think that I'm making some progress. :)

I am happy! Very rarely do I get someone to step forward to give me tips. Had I not taken it, who knows what kinda stuff I would've been pumping out. I'm so used to my art sites being generally in silence, lol, a victim of the 'don't say anything, they'll catch on quick.' I think that kinda happened when I posted at The Webcomic Listing, but I haven't been there since my initial post for review there.

You can check it out here. His version is recently posted, as is one version I did. Ignore all the other nonsense there. xD

I'm noticing a pattern in the guys i become friends with IRL. They:
1. Talk way too much
2. Add embellishments to stories or just outright make shit up
3. Have issues with their moms

It's number two that really bothers me. Seriously why make shit up? It doesn't make you seem cool it just makes you sound really dumb. And why do i keep attracting these guys? I might not be that exciting but at least i don't outright lie to people for kicks. -__- Mom told me all guys do this and it's "in their DNA."

He's an alright guy beyond that. Very open minded and mellow

The video game story of R-Type is really weird. Lemme get this straight… Mankind creates an evil dreadful weapon to destroy a rival civilization. However, it malfunctions and runs amok in the Solar System before it is contained. Then it's sent out of our dimension where it should've been imprisoned. However, the weapon evolves and comes back to destroy Humanity in the 22nd century (causing the events of the very first game). For the next 20 years (or 3 centuries in the game versions outside Japan) Mankind fights against this weapon from their future, they win. Later, using ships mutated by the weapon as examples, mankind apparently invents the weapon again to wage war against the enemy civilization…

Ugh… it's supposed to be my day off today. But the guy who's supposed to replace me has a schedule conflict thanks to his boss (at his other job) changing his schedule there. Things are so bad around here we've got guys working two fulltime jobs just to make their ends meet. Companies can't afford to give raises, and a lot of them complained when the minimum wage went up. Heck… I bet some of them are paying below minimum wage but they make sure to hire people who won't figure it out so they can continue to do so…

Oh, well… back to TV I guess…

*watches a court TV show where this yellow orb with a slice missing is suing four guys dressed in colored ghost costumes for stalking him…

In a democracy the voters do not get the government they want but the one they deserve.

Osama Bin Laden is still dead.

Hope he enjoys his 72 Virginians or is it tender raisins? Because according to modern linguistic research it isn't virgins.

You could ask the over 900,000 various other people killed as part of this insane "war on terror"…

Reminds me of something from the initial invasion of Iraq- a tiny boy had both his arms and legs blown off by an American bomb, he was in hospital with the stumps bandaged up when US forces captured the hospital. They interviewed him in a live feed on CNN. The reporter asked him if he was grateful to America for "liberating" his country from the tyrant Saddam.
He replied by swearing and cursing her, saying that he hated America for what it had done to him and his country.
The reporter was shocked and asked "doesn't he understand what we've done for him?"
The interpretor was even more shocked by what the idiot was asking and tried to stammer out that the boy was a quadruple amputee because of the war. He couldn't believe what she was asking. Nor could I. I turned off the TV.

I dunno what happens. What blinds people to the realities or war? What makes imagined rights and wrongs seem important enough to ignore or justify the full tragedy?
To me, things like the death of Osama just highlight the pointlessness and awfulness of the whole thing even more… One guy a the cost of almost a million lives. /rant that no one wants to or should have to read, but I had to put it somewhere.
———————

My sister is in hospital today, bitten by a venomous snake. It was a rare one and they didn't have any antivenin for it… I think she's going to be ok though. Her friends put a pressure bandage on her arm right away and got her to help fast.

And a ship hit a railway bridge on my line this morning so the trains weren't running from my station. the replacement bus system went into action FAST though and there was almost zero delay. Pretty impressive work, I must say!
A TV reporter tried to stop me and ask me to complain about the inconvenience of being made late for work etc. I told him there wasn't any, and ran for my connecting train.
There WOULD have been though if I stopped to jabber into the camera. >:[

It's so easy to quote a number with no proof that tallies with a political agenda and have it readily accepted by those sympathetic to that agenda. A wonderful example is the number of causulties often quoted in the Wars against the Plains Indians. A whole lot more white folks and a whole lot less red folks died than we've been led to think all these years.

And today after 12 noon no more solid food! At 5 pm comes the Polyethyline Glycol. I always thought it was anti-freeze. Turns out it is also a purgative. I got this four liter jug that I fill with water and shake and I have to drink 8 ounces every 20 minutes.

Turns out you can only use this stuff now as too many people hurt themselves too badly with the Phospho Soda that was available over the counter. Too much colon purging going on. Come on everybody knows that purgatives and bland foods are good for you. Ask the guy who invented Corn Flakes.

I uploaded all the pages I have done for the comic and even going to four updates a week in June I'm still updated through June 20. Yippee!

Numbers I go on are from a few sources for total deaths. But that doesn't really matter so much as the fact that thousands and thousands have died needlessly, but with the death of one person (Osama), that apparently makes it all ok and a reason to celebrate. Just brings it home how sickening, hopeless and immoral people's reactions to war really are.

Buuut enough about that. I'm being a broken, boring record.
_______________

It looks like my sister might be OK after the snake bite… It's pretty dangerous with them up where she lives. Her dogs or her daughter could easily be next. I do worry a bit for them. :[

Yeah, your Australia scares me. Watching National Geographic and such has led me to the conclusion that EVERYTHING there is poisonous! And like you have the most poisonous of snakes, spiders, etc. You even have frikin poisonous mammals! :P

I do hope your sister's status improves from "might be OK" to just "OK" soon!

Me too, demontales. : (
I'm going to blame our voting system because there's no way Canadians can be this stupid.
Stupid voting system.
Stupid voters.

So because he's stupid, here is a video of Stephen Harper being stupid and not speaking French very well.

So I wrote my exam today in a pretty foul mood. Hopefully it doesn't come across in my writing…"the author uses the sea as a symbol of the unrealistic expecta…STUPID CONSERVATIVES!"
Actually I think I did pretty good, wrote around 9 pages and I think my response was organized alright.

Ozone: Hope your sister's better soon!

Edit: So they arrested that runaway teacher. And now apparently they can't publish his name to "protect the identity of the victim." Good thing they didn't have both their names and colour photographs in the paper yesterday! …Oh wait…
