Wow… I can't decide if this is a Catch 22 or a Kobayashi Maru situation (you can look those up if you don't know what I'm talking about… probably on the Wiki or Tropes pages).

Even Kirk was able to beat the kobayashi maru sim.

In this case, i think cheating would make it worse. :D

lol!

That reminds me of this thing I read on the Ars Technica website a while ago:
It was a story about a game conference where at the end they had a competition for who out of the audience would be able to have a guest spot on the panel to say something and this really clever and sneaky guy gamed it so he won…
But people were bitchy dicks and disqualified him.

Anyway, the people in the comments section brought up that Star Treck Maru thing, sort of ironically initially, and then they started SERIOUSLY discussing it and debating and arguing it.
Scary…
I man, it's fine to debate about stuff in a fictional story, but to seriously debate about a fictional event in relation to a real situation as if they're BOTH comparable real situations is pretty surreal.

It's one psychological dynamic of the interpersonal relationship that is marriage. At the end of the day I still love my wife no matter how many no-win situations I find myself in. Compromise.

There are plenty of simulations that have "cheat modes" And that was before Kirk. It's based on military simulations and gaming to see reactions of those involved as opposed to solving the problem. I went through it but it's more common in the situational wargaming they do in command units.

And plenty of sick people who create these games love Star Trek and no-win situations. The Naval War college loves gaming Midway and it took fifty years for someone to replicate the historical result. Everyone else lost as the Americans. Midway was a real-life no-win desperate situation. And the US Navy toggled the cheat mode and won, because the cheat mode in real life is called luck

I wanted to mow the lawn but it's rained the past four days. So the grass grows uncontrollably and I'll have to cut my way through a jungle when it finally stops raining.

I'm so bored that random thoughts enter my heads. And after watching too many knockoff console videos on YouTube (Doctor Ashen is so funny doing his reviews of the things) I just had a thought of another knockoff…

It was called the AussieBox KiWii. Guess the origins of the companies it comes from? :)

The console itself would look like a PS3, only it's a lot smaller, has a power button like an X-Box but shaped in a triangle and a glowing cartdrige input rather than a DVD tray. The controller looks kinda like a popsicle… with the "stick" being like a Wiimote but the top being a mishmash of the X-Box 360 and the PS3 controllers. It advertises that the system can be used with or without the XBPS KiWiiMote as it has sensors around the input of the console itself. The cartdrige itself would actually be a CD drive with a MiniDisc inside making for some very expensive games…

Among the games it sports would be a beer drinking game, a game where you save koalas, kiwis, and kangaroos from evil American poachers, a wierd game where you have to pickpocket as many wealthy people as you can without getting caught (Solid Snake Style), and yet another where you run for the Presidential office to prevent an ultra conservative politician from taking that office and dooming the country to a miserable boring existence…

Okay. I'm out of my coffee induced trance now. My cup ran out. Time to brew some more… :)

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind buying the British made Pandora, which is an entire Linux PC stuffed into a handheld and can play emulator games. Too bad the price is more than I can handle… $500 U.S. O_O

That awkward moment when you make a Comicfury account and go onto the forum to introduce yourself and then about 10 DDer's say: "WELL HAI THAR!"

Hahaha I didn't realise there were quite so many DDers on Comicfury…

I think the DD migration is now half the forum userbase over there, or at least getting close to it.

———-

god this comic page turned out shitty. Honestly the whole little part is kind of stupid and i'm wondering if I should scrap it before i end up re-drawing redrawn pages. Q_Q

Yes, and I'm still finding them. I just saw Product Placement on there too.

Well… if you see "me" over there, be careful. He/she/it might just be a fake…

I'm still here. I managed to get that volcano that's supposedly dormant under my feet to stay dormant. In all seriousness though there IS an active volcano north of me. However it's not usually violent, just really REALLY SMOKY.

Gotta love the world of song synthesizers. Soon as someone makes up a really nice catchy tune for Miku Hatsune or Teto Kasane or any of their fellow voice synths, other voice synths (unofficial ones created by fans) will follow in their wake by imitating their songs. Pretty wild…

Well, time to get back to learning to draw with a mouse. While I had planned on getting back into comics this month the loss of my tablet due to malfunction has set me back. I was able to find a store that sells genuine Wacom tablets… they're apparently called the Bamboo tablets. I hope they're not so sharp that they'll put holes in my hands as I draw… bad experience with real bamboo will do that to you…

Drunken waterfowl migrate all the time. Ever see some of them fly? Look at any formation of migrating waterfowl and there's always a couple that are way off because they've had a few.

Birds are exempt from all laws regarding drinking and flying.

I made an account but I'm still waiting to see what happens.

I just got smoothie ALL over everything. -_- I was using a handheld blender and forgot to hold onto the bottom bit, so the thing spun around in a circle, spewing smoothie everywhere. Including on me.
Fortunately, the smoothie turned out pretty good after I cleaned everything up.

Why are women naturally good at PSYOPS?

Thats why I just… had it with getting into relationships with them. Once your mind has been compromised by sex and affection, your life would start to revolve around her. Then you turn into a pussycat and into her little man-slave. And when you turn into a pussycat or her man-slave, the more she will despise you and eventually she will go to a man with strength… or has at least the perceived illusion of strength. lol!

Saw that happen over and over and over again. Almost happened to me recently. Caught all her psyops and exposed it to her in a polite calm manner and by just that… it was HER who ended up getting mental anguish… simply because I told her Im aware of her mind games and explained it in detail. She cried mental abuse. Hahaha. When all else fails, play the victim. You think I didnt see through that? I spent hundreds of hours studying psychology and learning all about NLP, hypnotism, and all of that and you think your psyops gonna work on me?!?

Stupid biatch. lol

I may not be happy about some of the things regarding the new Duck (raw html editing) But I am not gonna pull up stumps and go off somewhere else.
I love the Duck, and the feel of its community. Getting feedback and even just ^5s from readers is a real good thing (thats what the vote things are, High five acknowledgements from readers!)
I also have far to many pages to go around putting them up willy nilly on other sites. I looked at wevolt or whatever, but the thought of hundreds of updates just made me cringe.

Long live the Duck… and give us HTML editing!

That definitely had to become a "someone" quote, because no one here is "meaningless".

I had to go look at comicfury just to see, and there were a lot of DDers I could recognize when I still don’t really know that many to begin with.

Can’t help but feel sad about it. As always, I wish everyone the best, whether it's here or elsewhere, and I imagine that just because people have accounts at multiple places it doesn’t mean they’re abandoning DD. Or rather, tD?

I’ll be here. With my bottle (who am I kidding? Bottles) and I’ll keep one in reserve for those who want to join me.

But, and here’s the truth, comicfury does upload quickly. Honestly, wasn’t that essentially the big change most DDers wanted from DD in the first place? that and no more crashing? Now there’s all this raz.

I know this great forum, with great community, and 99% of the users are drunk duck users. but no one really cares.

Sometimes i just wish there was a magical "body fixed" machine. I am to build up my exercises 1 at a time, and then the doctor will react to what kills my shoulder. It all does. I've stated i've done this before. and it all messes it up. oh well.

Websites and forums are not something anyone should be loyal to one way or the other. It's like being a "loyal" S-mart shopper as opposed to K-mart or Wal-mart. Which store has the best selection and price for what I am looking for today?

To me it don't matter one way or another. I've already fought in wars between competing forums and they're childish, stupid but they're also entertaining.

And I without meaning as far as being a member of any forum is concerned.

No one of consequence; C'est moi! And masks are very comfortable too.

Masks? I don't know if they're comfortable, but sometimes they help keep worlds from colliding.

I totally agree that people have to go where they need/want to go. And I can't claim that this squabble about DD > tD > keeping content provider control > etc, etc., is all that has brought on a certain melancholy for me. [geez, I've been missing little 1337 and his moodiness around the place this week - because I just kinda get that]

I, however, will go out of my way, and sometimes even spend a dollar more than I have to if I like the people at a certain store. I admit to playing favorites at times.

I'm here, first, because of the community and then the comics. Most people are probably reversed on that. and this whole upheaval nonsense has made me realize that what little drawing talent I have only happens when I'm in a content place. right now, I have no desire to draw.

but yes, life is about change. and weathering the storms. or sometimes just drifting away without fanfare. yadda, Yoda. no argument.
