I'm always so amazed by the qualities that cat's skin has. It's firm yet elastic. I mean you can pinch it and pull at it so that it stretches away from the flesh. This doesn't seem to bother the cat at all as if she has no pain receivers in her skin. Despite that she's sensitive to a delicate touch and receives allot of pleasure from being petted.

Is it a bad sign that I honestly can't be bothered to go bed? I know staying up is a bad idea, because it makes me say and do stupid things and makes me hallucinate after just a few hours missed. I'm not even doing anything important, abnd yet I still can't drag myself to sleep.

Really? Try this on any of my old cats and they'd have ripped your fingers off. Even after their teeth fell out.
so… tired…
Going to sleep and then I'll be inking the FINAL panel, haha. This six pager wore me out more than anything I drew before, but I love the results, so I'll have to try that approach on something longer.
Technically, I didn't really do much beyond using the new tools in a smart fashion (crosshatching/shading on a separate layer so it's easier to erase, take difficult bits of art in steps refining them layer by layer of tighter drawing, using vector lines for perspective etc) and freeing myself from A4 page size limitations.
And then there will be coloring, heh.
And then there will be coloring, heh.
I'm glad I don't have to deal with colors, but shading in grey takes me a long while too.
I wish I could draw fast. Not that speed is the most important thing, but it takes hours and hours for me to finish just one page @_@. I don't know how I did it, but I drew 4 pages of the Rose Killer in two days o_o. But only two of them are inked and in the computer, and they haven't been shaded so I guess it all doesn't matter. D:
I slept wrong… I have a pain in the back of my right calf. Feels like I pulled a muscle.
I had some strange dreams too. One had all those irritating women from Sex in the City in it, being bossy about accommodation at some resort somewhere. But I've only ever seen that show about twice in my life at that was years ago!
And one had Hyena Hell and Skoolmunkee having brief cameos in it for some reason. I can't recall what it was about but I think it had something to do with pets because in the end I was stuck with a small dog that was shaped like a short fat cylinder with legs- It didn't even have a neck… Very funny looking, but cute and quite intelligent.

Sounds like a Corgy. Fat little furry Vienna sausages with legs.
I think the old issue with my back is starting up again. But now I think I've narrowed down the cause to shitty seating in my work space. Considering I spent all summer dirty and sweaty but never sat down and now I'm always clean but constantly sitting on crappy old office furniture, that would seem the logical cause for this problem. I just wish I didn't have to be figuring it out the hard way. It feels like someone shoved a rock under the skin over my tailbone.
Sounds like a Corgy. Fat little furry Vienna sausages with legs.Almost, but more cartoony since its face, muzzle and nose was almost as wide as its body. It was also smaller and less chubby than a corgi (mostly muscle), but it did have the same colouring and the same pointy ears :)
It feels like someone shoved a rock under the skin over my tailbone.Nasty! >.<
Nobe. My cat will lie on my lap all lazy like and she won't be bothered if I give her a good pinch. But in order to be more specific, I'm specifically talking about pinching ONLY the skin. Not do a deep pinch where you're going for her flesh. This doesn't seem to bother the cat at all as if she has no pain receivers in her skin.Really? Try this on any of my old cats and they'd have ripped your fingers off. Even after their teeth fell out.
It kind of makes sense if their skin is numb for pain. Kittens are always play fighting where they're biting each other quite hard and those fights only intensify as they grow up.
Wait where did you hear cats don't feel pain on the skin? Source? Cats are really good at showing no pain, but i just pinched my cats skin just now and she acted like it hurt(didn't get the flesh)
Edit: i went outside to pinch everybody and the male cats don't seem to care much except when you get skin near the muscles, while the females(like above) are all '>:0 wtf u douchbag!'. That 'web' of skin between their leg and body does nothing.
It kind of makes sense if their skin is numb for pain.I don't think you can really reliably extrapolate your experiences with one cat to all cats. ;)
Cats have extremely elastic skin that is generally very sensitive to touch- Just the light pressure, temperature and feel of water or wind on the fur can be intolerable to them. Pain isn't a separate sensation, if the nerves work, they work.
Perhaps you cat is just extremely patient with you? Or maybe it has a disability? :(
-Not feeling pain on the skin is NEVER an advantage, and if your cat doesn't feel hard pinches, perhaps you should stop that. :)
The reason being that real damage is cause to the skin cells, and if that's not noticed it can lead to sores… And if those aren't noticed because of a lack of sensation that leads to infection. And the only way to get out of that is immediate attention with the strongest antibiotics, constant bathing and disinfection daily for weeks and months until the condition improves, or amputation of the area affected.
Seriously. It happens with humans with diabetes and leprosy (which is a nerve condition not a flesh rotting one), and it happened with one of my own elderly cats. Lucky I was able to save her leg and the side of her stomach through constant medical care, but it took a LOT of work.
(she could feel, but she had a weird nerve problem on her stomack skin).

ARgh, what a way to wake up… with the Denver the Last Dinosaur theme stuck in your brain! Why does it have to be one of the worst cartoons I can remember? (bastards lied to me with the opening, promising dinosaurs and delivering only one that wasn't even a proper one… dinosaur? more like dinoSORE)!
Quick! Think something else… oh, I know, the TMNT theme, that one's cheesy enough to drown out that OTHER thing and yet not as annoying, yeah.
Apparently flooding the telly with annoying stupid adverts wasn't enough, now the Cash4Gold people are COMING TO MY HOUSE. I suspect I shall meet Creepy Beard Man again soon, when they start breaking into people's houses, taking anything shiny they can find and leaving money in their place.
Seriously though, if I could afford any substantial amount of gold jewellery, I wouldn't be living in this hell-hole.
I got my school timetable, I got teachers that are pretty cool. So…Neat! Shame I have only one class with any of my friends…Oh weeell.
And I got my checkbook today. It told me to rip up the part with my name, so I decided I'd eat it. Paper doesn't taste nice…Hard to chew as well.

D: I don't want creepy beard man visiting me…

stupid 4 day weekend completely ruined the rest of my week. i haven't been able to get back in my sleeping pattern. when i'm in bed i toss and turn, and when i'm supposed to be awake, all i wanna do is lay my head down and go to sleep.
i was going to run this morning. (i'd be finishing up right about now!) but yesterday, my wife recieved news that her grandpa's lungs were failing, and he prolly wasn't going to make it. at 430 this morning she woke up screaming and crying. she had had a dream, where her other grandpa had come back, and then left with her grandpa in the hospital. so i stayed as long as i could (i would have woken up at 5 and left.) so now i'm leaving because i have to be at work.
this makes me sad. everyone's grandparents are dying. i'm scared. my papaw, and mamaw are awesome….
… /lecture T_TWhat I meant was maybe cat's have just such a high tolerance to pain on their skin. I mentioned myself that they're incredibly sensitive to light touch. She reacts to the slights touch to a single hair on her fur.
And don't worry. I don't torture my cats. It's just an observation I made after countless of times that I've petted cats.
And my current cat is a 1 year old healthy feline so you can rule out diabetes.
Aren't they more of a small animal predator? That's what SKool meant :)
The skin is indeed elastic. Some cats were known to grown "wings"- the skin over their shoulder blades would stretch out and grow that way. Eventually it would harden and the wings would fall off, but while they had them they looked as if they really had wings with fur on and even the ability to move them a bit because of the muscle they were attached to.
-One other thing- The skin on the nape of the neck usually always has reduced sensitivity on almost all mammals, including humans. If you pull the hair in the right place at the back of your neck it doesn't hurt. So you can see hoe kittens manage when carried in their mother's jaws and why horses don't mind their mane being pulled.

I was also basing my assumptions on the fact that kitty mothers carry their litter around like that.
And I thought that Skool was saying that cats were prey not predators. Just a simple misunderstanding.
My week just got 10x better. Yesterday I dropped off an application for a job with my school's maintenance department, just to cover my bases, they told me to drop by this afternoon. So I did just that, figuring they'd maybe just want to do an interview or something which would have been awesome enough seeing as how I've not even gotten one of those for the 22 apps I put in. But no, instead they just handed me the W-2 forms to set up the taxes and said I can start on the 15th. I just have to drop in at some point to get a schedule set up.
It might not be my field, but it has all the other benefits I could want. It's close to school so I don't have to trek across the whole city, it's about 15-20 hours a week, it'll pay my bills, and it's something that I have half a clue of what I'm doing. Plus, it's just a major load off my back to not be worrying about how I'm going to stay in school, at least for the semester.
Why are webcartoonists so sensitive?
So what if someone is critical of or doesn't like your webcomic?
I know you think your webcomic is awesome and everyone else should feel the same way, but the fact is, people have the right to choose what they like.
I make my webcomic because it's something I would want to read. I'm glad that others enjoy it, but I'm not gonna fret over those that don't. Mini rant over.
Granted, I realize I have a Sore Loser awards banner in my sig so I may seem like a hypocrite… But still. Make your comic and move on.

On a semi-related note, I kinda wish I had actual haters. Then I'd know I struck the big time, eh?

So I was readin' the literature that comes with my meds, on account of i keep gettin' weird side-effects (actual I ain't sure it's related to the medicione; just a guess). And I found out one is a bone fide antipsychotic, used in part to treat schizophrenia. Great. That's comforting.
My first day back is actually going really well so far. I was upset about having second period free but it was actually quite nice…it means my day is broken up so I'm not sitting in classrooms for hours on end. It'll suck in the winter when I have to stay inside, though.
And one of my classes is only every second day, which I didn't realize, so that gives me an extra long lunch on alternate days…which means I can come home for lunch.
