So I watched another Mass Effect video in anticipation for the third game. And I find out you have to save a princess at some point… a KROGAN PRINCESS!!! Worse… Shepard said he would like to get to know her. I hope this isn't going someplace we wouldn't want it to go…
Ugh… wanna sleep, but it's too hot. But if I don't go to sleep I may sleep later and be late for work. But if I sleep now in this heat I may not wake up again… Time to brew several gallons of coffee…

From now on the deadline to get any recordings in in Friday midnight US time (PST). -because it's quite a bit of work to get those things all together and we really need all bits to do that.
Anyway, he did a beautiful job! ^_^
Ah well, the weekend is over now. No sleeping in to 2pm for another 5 days… dammit!

Alternatively it could all be very innocent and he just hasn't commented yet.
Aparantly she lived in that other part of the town which by car/bus would take at least good 45 mins to reach. Anywhoose, after I had offered to get her a cab, of which she refused (ah money, were art thou) I offered her to sleep on it in my appartment, which luckily was only a couple of minutes away.
After semi sleepless night (roatating between reading and gaming) and after a bit awkward "Good morning, were the duck am I?" conversation, she departed. Turns out she was a sinlge mom(and only year younger than me) and generally a nice person.
feh… the Sims 3 forums have a porn posting troll on them now. Yep… a forum visited by children. Makes me wonder how much time a guy like that has on his hands. Or maybe he's a 25 or so year old kid who can't think of better things to do…
Oh, well… one thing I won't be doing is responding to his posts there. Feeding trolls only encourages them. :(

Why do I keep putting off getting a new comp? urgh!!!!
Ah well…
I just really, really hate getting new computers.
Getting used to the new setup, installing all those programs you need, transferring files, bookmarks, passwords playlists etc, signing into all your services and sites all over again, setting up the OS the way you like it, removing all the crap programs, junk and defaults that manufactures try and make you use and so on and on and on.
Windows machines aren't the only ones with that particular issue. If it was a Mac I'd be doing what I could to eliminate crap like itunes, Quicktime and Safari.
And then there's the cost… It's not really the expense that's the big deal, since comps are WAY cheaper than they've ever been right now and I have the money ready to go, it's just the fact that I HAVE to outlay that money on a new comp and then there's the thing of finding the best deal and all that stuff, especially with all the new things JUST coming out right now…
You know that inevitably you'll feel cheated anyway because something 5x better at the same or half the cost will be available a month or two after you buy your new machine.
@Oz - that was brilliant. Not only did you answer your own question, but you answered it the same way I would answer it, but only better. (I may have to keep a copy of that post)

so I'll just informally announce here that I'm going to start haphazardly reaching out to some DDers to ask them to be a script judge for the 2012 DD Radio Play contest.
and then when they respond (because surely - everyone checks their PQs on a regular basis) and asks - what's all This then, I'll point to this post and say:

I hate that modern four cylinder cars often lack the juice to jump start other modern four cylinder cars. With a booster box the wife's car roared to life but I didn't get any result when I tried jumping it with my car.
Stuck between clearing off the stage to do the last of the blue screen shots and designing the alien ship set. I wrote the script so most of the action took place on one set with only a few inserts. It's clearing off the stage and keeping track of all the costume changes necessary for shooting out of order that gets to me. Taking off outfits, putting them back on, taking them off again only to realize that figure isn't in this shot and having to redress another figure because she is in the shot. And the wife is complaining about all the set pieces cluttering up the walk in closet. It doesn't matter that all her stuff clutters up the entire house, but the few large pieces of styrofoam I've put aside to build sets from is taking up all the room? But of course try to point this out to her and my styrofoam is the fire hazard and not the reams of papers she has in folders all over the den, living room and dining room.
So after listening to a show on Coast-to-Coast Am about dream communication I've having this cool dream about spy stuff at an international convention and a girl I knew in high school pops up. The dream comes to a sudden stop as I have an in depth conversation with her as if she was a real person and we were having a telepathic communication via the dream. So a decently plotted dream got totally sidetracked into a stupid conversation. At least my dream didn't get hijacked like a few did a month ago. There it is my dream all cool and suddenly a woman I know comes in with some old friends, but they are as they are now, not as they were when I last saw them. And they took over the dream and I was left as a supporting character in my own life rather than the star.

@ Lonne- No, the plan is to get a laptop, move all my stuff on to it, get used to it and have it as my main working comp.
THEN, and only then, build my own more powerful machine on the bones of my current desktop.
Then that one will be my new main comp… But it'll be a while before I tackle that project, even after I finally get around to getting the laptop.

I have been watching the show called Fringe. It is in my opinion the second best Sci-Fi series in existance, second only to Doctor Who. I wish other writers would spend half as much time writing their comics, books, songs, series and movies. It would make the world a better place.
DR Who the best SciFi series?
When I watched it back in its golden era I loved it and it'll always be a fave TV show of mine, but I don't really think of it as SciFi. To me it's more in the realm of those great weird paranormal British TV series like Sapphire and Steel, Randal and Hopkirk (deceased), and The Tomorrow People.
But that's just me ^_^

So in the couple of hours I actually had asleep they were filled to the brim with strange dreams, mainly filled with Drunk Duck people because I'd spent the last few hours listening to DD people's voices as I edited the Quackcast together.
In one scene I was playing with Star Wars Lego with Genejoke, getting caught up with changing around the heads and helmets on all the figures… It was fun, but I've no idea where this comes from.
In another scene, because of her voice acting in the DD Soap Tantz Aerine was able to get a lead role on the fourth season of a popular SciFi TV series (no idea which one, it was just really popular). She invited me and a few other people on set to see her being filmed. It was pretty cool, very stylish costumes and props.
Then a whole lot of DD people had a party to celebrate her success. And when I was going to leave one of the guys (can't remember who) offered me a lift home and I got the impression that he was also asking me out, which I felt pretty awkward about, being straight and all.
The dream ended with me thinking about how I'd get home and not offend the guy and how much more awkward it'd be riding home in a car with someone I'd just turned down. -_-
I started watching The Birds today. I got to the bit where there's a guy with his eyes pecked out, and it really freaked me out. Not the birds themselves, just that particular image. I'm so used to the Twilight Zone where any violence is subtle or off-screen, so I didn't expect them to show his face.
I couldn't stop picturing those eyes and I couldn't figure out why, until just now. My older sister let me watch The Mummy when I was really too young for it, and I got really scared by a guy in that movie who lost his eyes and tongue. It's funny how things can stick with you like that.

My dog is too smart, and too picky. He needs some pills but he's gotten wise to our usual methods of hiding them. He won't eat most treats without pills, nevermind with. Managed to get him to eat 1 and 1/2 of his two pills by hiding halves in three different treats, but by the fourth half he caught on.
Cats tend not to eat them from food at all, even when they're crushed up.
The vet taght me how to give them pills directly and I've become pretty good at that:
straight into the mouth, right between the fangs, down the back of the tongue. Then make sure they swallow.
You can get a depositor device to help put it in and use an eyedropper to make them swallow, but those don't make it much easier really because 70% of the time something goes wrong and you drop all the stuff and puss escapes before you get it all ready again.
Much simpler to do it by hand.
NOT though the side- because they can bite down hard there. Really hard. Through the front is pretty safe though on cats, even though it looks nasty- as long as you're between the big pointy teefs. The vet called it "through the gates of hell"
I remember him telling me it's the opposite with dogs- you go for the side with them? Maybe because their mouths are longer so you can get behind the back teeth easier? I dunno, it's been ages since I had a dog.

Well, just because stuff is out there doesn't mean that everybody wants to watch it, especially lately when marketing has a tendency to release the best bits of the media to build up hype. If someone does want to know stuff then they will have sought it out. But taking information that relates to missions, story, etc and posting it unspoilered in an unrelated area is generally considered pretty inconsiderate. If there was a "Mass Effect 3" thread people could discuss things there all they like, and the people who don't want to be spoiled wouldn't go there. Some of the best moments in anything come when you're not expecting that surprise, or that awesome thing or whatever, and having someone just mention it casually in an unrelated discussion basically ruins that moment before it happens.
So yeah I would appreciate it if you did spoiler any stuff like that in the future, thanks :]
Edit: That isn't meant to sound grumpy or anything, I was just explaining- I mean, spoiler tags exist because people don't want to be spoiled on stuff right? :] I just had too good a time playing ME2 totally unspoiled and I want that to happen as much as possible with ME3 too.

Then I saw the real thing and that stayed with me because there are no make-up artists or corn syrup around and I wasn't on a sound stage and I had to figure out what I was going to do about it in the next three seconds. Look a gushing leg wound! Look at all that blood, wow it really does look like corn syrup… right, shut up there's work to do and I know what needs to be done.
And the EMTs praised the dumbass tanker on a job well done. Movies? Actors won't bleed to death or pass out from shock and I'm not there and expected to do something. Pass the popcorn.

@ozone, about the best sci-fi series I'd personally go for Star Trek: Voyager. Not because I'm devoted fan it but more because it was probably my first sci-fi experience, so the series has a special place in my heart.
