Ok let's get the ball rollin' for the Red Carpet 2023!!
Submissions for the Red Carpet open on May 1st and close on September 1st! (nobody will whine if you submit earlier than May Day tho)
To participate in the Red Carpet event you must have a webcomic hosted on DD and submit up to TWO characters, in TWO VERSIONS, both facing forward (as if posing for a photo, or trying to) at eye-level:
1st set should be your characters as they appear in the comic.
2nd set should be your SAME characters dressed up in formal clothes as they would if they were actors going to the Oscars.
Both sets should be on TRANSPARENT background. Post the 1st set on this thread.
KEEP THE SECOND SET SECRET and send it to me at this email with the subject line RED CARPET 2023: tantz.aerine AT gmail.com
DO NOT PQ ME, USE YOUR EMAIL, USE THE CORRECT SUBJECT LINE
From your images I will compose two wallpapers commemorating the 2023 DD Awards. The second set will also be presented in a special sequence when the Red Carpet event begins running!
If you want an example of what you need to create here is the previous Red Carpet event thread: Red Carpet 2022
And here is last year's event itself: Red Carpet Formal Event 2022

Red Carpet 2023
I've already been thinking about what sort of formal outfit I could draw Levana wearing, but if have to include two characters, I suppose I'll throw in Laura since she's Levana's best friend and the deuteragonist of the VAMPIRE GIRL comic. Shouldn't be too difficult or time consuming to do both sets, but at least we've got a lengthy window of time to get it done.
Just to clarify, do you want the sets to be individual image files of each of the characters, or both characters together in one image file?
Have characters ever asked to attend the Drunk Duck awards with characters from other creator's comics (a la Prom or the Sadie Hawkins style of asking). I think it would be a hilarious subforum to post which characters one would want to attend the awards show as a Plus One.

It's better to make a single illustration with both characters (at least I've done it that way in the past). But, while the background is transparent, it shouldn't be a problem for Tantz to put them together.

You don't HAVE to include two characters! I only said UP to two. Just one is perfectly fine!
It's up to you if you send me individual image files! I'd like it if you can but it's not mandatory.

That sounds awesome! But I don't know how that would work. I'll be happy to include cross-webcomic couples for sure, just PLEASE if you do this, label each character from each comic clearly.

So two characters / creator or two characters / comic? :)
(I would assume creator, but I better ask just to be sure)
Two characters per comic title! If you as a creator have say, three titles that you host on DD, then you can submit up to two characters for each of your three titles. So up to six characters in total.

not enough skin
Lennard didn't want to allow anything more. You can see that in his gaze.

I still need to work on my submissions . . . extenuating circumstances arose unexpectedly this past month that have kind of pushed everything else aside, but at least we still have a grace period for the time being.
You still got a ton of time! Deadline is September 1st. And I would be very much an ingrate if I didn't allow for late submissions too after I was late submitting my FYC and it still got accepted. :) So no worries, you're good.
