I'm in the sad state of mind where I get really annoyed at these people who say they're crazy because it's the in thing and really they're horribly normal.

That said, I am kinda crazy XD

Crazy? Sure, I've come to terms with being mentally ill.

Of course it goes with having a well practiced manical laugh.

I would say if you didn't ever question your sanity that is probably a good sign that you're insane.

I don't. But I know that I am sane. It's not hard to be normal.

Plus, I've met real crazy people… I have no idea why anyone would want to identify with them. That's no crazy, that's stupid. :P

Though I do have a mental disorder…or rather a few (social anxiety disorder and bipolar) I don't consider myself crazy…most days. But I am strange and morbid…and have been called such many times.

Well, I think people may have said this already… But! I don't care, I'm gonna say it anyway!

I believe everyone is a least a little crazy, we have to be in order to survive I'm betting all of you have had those 'mad scientist' moments, where you feel you're on to something and start laughing (Not nessicarilly manically)

Of course not.
I only know what I think and by that logic, I'm sane and anyone who deviates from my way of thinking is the crazy person.

Sanity is relative. And don't say "Compared to Joe Average" because if you averaged out the sanity of the world into one person, you'd wind up with a bat-snot lunatic.

Besides, they're a fine line between insanity and genius.

Allow me to illustrate:
Say "1 + 1 = 4" without a proof of some sort? You're stupid.
Say "1 + 1 = 4" and when asked for the proof you just repeatedly scream the same thing over and over again, or otherwise try to avoid the inevitable truth you're wrong? You're a nut (and possibly a religious zealot, or cultist).

Say "1 + 1 = 4", and then demonstrate a complex proof that boggles or convinces the layman?

That depends. Do you believe your own proof? If not, you're a mischievous (or confused) genius. If you do… well, you could be a creative and/or insane genius.

Say "1 + 1 = 4", and then demonstrate a complex proof that not only convinces the layman, but baffles or boggles mathematicians? See the previous question's note.

And finally, the kicker:

If everyone in the world was colour-blind except one person, but that person could not explain colour or demonstrate its existence, what are the chances of that person being labelled "insane"?

But to answer the question: I don't know.

Am I un-cool for saying yes because I actually have a mental..thing?

Well..it's not a mental illness exactly, it's just in that book that doctors use to diagnose them.So now you know.Bobby is crazy.

I am hyper and quirky…so i guess somewhat. I have REALLY crazy thoughts.
I'm like J.D. on scrubs. I daydream about…everything all the time. It pretty much rocks.

ditto. Expect for the Hyper part.

None of you are crazy. Because a crazy person never asks themselves if they are crazy.

Nice one, Lefarce.

Although we're not asking ourselves if we're crazy. Simonitro is asking if we think we're crazy. That's usually how it works – people tend to (foolishly?) ask crazy people, "ARE YOU MAD?" (it's a wonderful straight line)

So on that logic, Simonitro is the only person who would be proven to be sane.

And insanity doesn't necessarily mean you don't know you have a problem, either. Those who don't realize their insanity are just crazier than those that do.

Perhaps this thread would be better in this format:
"I'm crazier than X, but saner than Y".

;)

I'm crazier than rutabagas, but saner than potato chips. (I'm crazier than a buried vegetable, but saner than a sliced up, deep fried, salted vegetable)

No. I'll say what I say every time here. I'm happy being sane.
Crazy people range from pitiable, to annoying, to dangerous. Usually all three.
Hardly enviable or something to aspire to…

Awww, raining logic upon the parade! Heh heh.

While that's certainly true, crazy people are also bold and unpredictable simply because they tend to lack the normal restraints a sane person uses because they're counter-productive.

Fearlessness and creativity are traits many people admire. Again, context, context, context. I don't think anyone would want to be crazier than say, Michael Jackson… but just about anyone will want to be crazier than Conrad Conservative of Dullsville, Greytown.

What you're describing sounds like eccentricity to me, when someone acts a little strange but isn't actually considered insane. They are just a bit different to other people in unusual ways.
And you don't need to be insane to be creative and not care what people think.

Thinking? Asking?

Same difference. If you have the time to take out of your day to evaluate, you're not crazy. Crazy people are too busy talking to people who aren't there to evaluate any aspect about themselves.

Or if you want a non-joke answer, crazy people never know they're crazy, and cannot logically jump to that conclusion. :3

Proof is such an awesome movie.

I don't know if crazy in a BAD sense, but I am aware that I do some odd stuff. I talk to myself, for one, but I guess that's just normal.

No, the oddest thing I do is to think too hard. My point? I am thinking on a scene for my comics, imagining the characters in a diallogue, and when I less expect it I am actually speaking out the lines (most of the time using different voices for the characters). So far I've done that when alone, but more than once I got very O.o stares from people around.
