Ok I'm having problems with uploading in Chrome and setting the live date in Firefox
Chrome- from comic pages, I can load the add pages page, but the add page button doesn't do anything. I think it might be a scripting error.

Firefox- I can add pages and set the date, but only in the current month. I have to type in the date to set the live date to a different month. The calender switches after I finish typing the year.

below is all of the version information. The pic should provide a link to the larger version, but here's a link just in case.

Firefox has the Web developers tool bar installed Version 1.1.8

My comic's not showing up on the "This Just In" thing when I post a new comic.

And now we start to see the benefits of having your comic constantly stuck in the "This Just In" list. Pewfell has now entered the top 10 list as well. Not that it's a particularly bad comic and that it doesn't belong there to begin with, mind you. However, there's no denying that his current success is largely thanks to the fact that his comic's been constantly on display on the frontpage now and if we follow up with the point that he has over 500 pages, it's easy to conclude that he doesn't need that many readers, playing catch up, for his page view counter to go through the roof.

Congrats chuckwheel, you lucky bastard. May the error gods smile favorably upon us one day, like they've now done to you.

Also count in his daily updates, but more importantly, a comic thumbnail with boobs in it!!

Alright, so my pages upload and everything but i get kicked off my account everytime, and my comic doesn't appear in the 'this just in' list. I've noticed that Pewfell is always, always, there(not trying to diss on it or anything, promise). Is the getting kicked off and comic not appearing (to be advertised that it even exists) something that can be fixed by getting a different internet program?

Also count in his daily updates,
That's actually what I reckon is causing him to stay continuously in the "This just in" list. As you can tell, he gradually moves down the list over time but never drops off it. It appears that a very limited amount of comics are still being recognized by whatever places freshly updated comics into that list. However, there are so few comics that the list updater seems to recognize, that not enough of them update per day to clear out the entire list over the day. Since Pewfell happens to be updated on a daily bases, it always bumps back to the top before it drops out.

I'm not saying his comic is bad. It looks pretty dam entertaining, in fact (the little I've looked at, at least). Still, you have to agree that he's very lucky to being able to take such a huge advantage of the current bug. It's like being featured all over again (he was featured at one point, right? (if not, then it would be hilarious to feature him now and see him on three spots on the front page (four if Quail's Random decides to spot him as well))).
but more importantly, a comic thumbnail with boobs in it!!
Well of course! It's the most important part.

This is the same problem that is happening to me. Has anything been figured out with this yet?

Things have been very busy at Wowio recently. They've just finished a very big office move and are still catching up on all the things they have to do, as well as all the e-mails I've been sending them about the problems.

Hey guys, just a quick update. We believe we've fixed the "This Just In" issue with the uploading. That section of the homepage should update normally now. Really sorry for the inconvenience. We are monitoring your issues and are trying to get them resolved. Thanks.

same info as above, but now I can't update in Firefox either. I can get to the upload page, set the the live date, add a description and set the title, but when I click the upload button, the page never appears on my Comicpages for that comic.
Before that I also had a problem with them system chunking out anything after the first URL in a URL tag. Looked like this:
[url=http://somewhere.com
Everthing after that is gone. I could retype it using the edit button and everything would work fine. It's just rather annoying, especially when you have five links in the comments and have to hunt them down again.

EDIT: I just noticed that My comic is stuck up there in the "This Just In" section. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but A ) my art is pretty shoddy on that piece of work, and B )I don't have as many pages as Pewfell.

Try it again and let me know if you're still having the same error. We were tinkering with the upload system right around the time you posted this.

I'm personally using Chrome and experiencing none of the issues you listed. What extensions do you have installed on Chrome?

I had ie8 and the lastest java and all that loads is this…

I've since done a factory restore thinking it was my end. (It wasnt)
I still have the same problem.
Why did they have to take away the old upload system? That one at lest worked. This system is very user un-friendly

I just went to add a page and all its showing is the format of the pages and the size. No button or anything. What happened?!

I guess this upload bug is a Friday thing?

1. Sorry if I get you on the tits with this, but is it really only a server problem that I keep getting this instead of a comic page when having uploaded one?

2. Is it a bug, or is there a reason why I can't make long rants any more without part of them being deleted? (I try not to most of the time, anyway)

3. I'd like to mention that it's a pity that special letters like ä or é don't work any more in the comments, though I'm of course well aware that this is only a very minor issue if any at all.

I actually like the new upload tool for its neat moving progress bar, but now I'm starting to wonder whether that was really worth all the trouble. Is there actually any improvement apart from that? (Sorry to ask, but I'm really crap at computer stuff, so I always have trouble understanding such things.)

Before I forget:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3
Browser: Mozilla Firefox 3.5.10
Plugins/Toolbars: Google Toolbar, probably other stuff that I don't know what it is, what it's for or where it came - this bloody thing does as it pleases.
Internet connection: Wireless USB Modem

Whoops! Please forget my first complaint. I tried it again for the fourth time and it works now. :)

Haha! The update bug (broken image) is currently fixed.
-WOW, I don't think I've ever seen special characters working in a forum post before o_O
never seen them work in author comments.

-Funilly enough, on testing the upload system just now I noticed that the old system is still in place on the upload page, but this new system just lays over the top of it.

Curious!

The only reason I can think of this happening is that you may not have Flash installed (or active) on your comp. I just tried it in IE8 on my comp and it worked fine.

Just to clarify, because I may have misspoke earlier, the new upload system requires Flash, not Java.

Sorry, I'm not a programmer, so sometimes I get my terms mixed up.

No I didn't :)
I was talking about the uploading system we had just before the new one- it's still on the same page and loads first, but then the new Flash thing covers it up.

The one you've linked to is the lovely original from the site re-boot in 2006 after the great crash of 2005. Heh! That's a good one. Nice find Lothar! We know it's there but we always forget it and forget how useful it can be :)

That's it.

I think that it might be a Flash error that's causing it. When the page loads, the old uploader loads then the page refreshes with the flash over it. The button has a white border around the bottom and right side. I can provide screen shots if necessary.

I can Upload in Firefox. I think my computer just needed a reboot. I've updated Flash and have turned off all the extensions. No change. I'm not blaming anyone but I don't think it's on my end unless crhome just doesn't get along with Flash for some reason (no entirely implausible)

Thanks, Lothar!!! Woohoo! I got some pages uploaded!

Maybe someone should make a poster for the programmers that reads, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

BTW, why is the new system dependent on Flash? As I understand it (and I am not an expert) Apple is moving away from supporting it & the upcoming HTML5 won't support it either. Wouldn't it make more sense to create a system that allows as many people to use it as possible instead of relying on a program that may soon go the way of Beta videotapes?
