That reminds me…

I had a birthday the other day. And my grandfather died.
Two shitty things on one day. YAY! \^_^/
…I don't mean that… -the yay part. :(

The funeral for my other grandfather was held on my birthday a few years before.

Birthdays suck. -_-

Can really spoil celebrating your birth with family and friends.

My grump is that I had some work to finish and didn't get it done before I took some holiday days last week… so now it's the middle of the afternoon on Sunday and I'll probably have to spend 'til dark doing this work :[ My own fault really, but still.

The reason I took the days off was to get some things done, and I didn't get any of them done. I slept in late and spent long times cooking and things. So now I feel like I wasted my days off, haha. I just need to learn that I only get things done when I'm busy, I'm never ever productive on days off….

I agree. Pick a new birthday, get some ice cream, and totally pig out. If ice cream isn't your thing, get something else! And if it really isn't your thing, I'm totally fine with eating it for you. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I'm taking some days off because I haven't been feeling well lately and for the first time in a very long time, weekends are not stressful. I haven't even realized how stress-inducing weekends are for me until now. I know it sounds stupid but I always load up my weekends with tasks that I couldn't complete during the week and when Sunday rolls around and I don't have anything done, I freak out.

I think life would be so much easier for me if my weekends are actually my weekends and not some unstructured days where I expect myself to continue working.

Ahaha. Just keep at it APC. The passport office always manages to bungle things up but they'll get it right eventually.

I'm pretty much in the exact same spot as BK. My weekends are becoming more work-filled and stressful than my weekdays since I spend all my time trying to work ahead so I can keep up. Crap, I haven't gotten anything done around the house like I keep saying I will even. I'm definitely thinking I should just set the auto update on my comic, tell my clients I'm going to be gone for a couple days, and just leave for a weekend.

I'm not even out of college yet, and I probably shouldn't be giving myself ulcers already like this.

dang it, this guy is not cool….we have a 20 min limit on the computers….however, you know, if no one is waiting, then normally they let us go, and call people up when someone comes in, in order of being on longest…..this guy is calling everyone up, on their 20 min mark….bleh…that's uncool…

also i hate me and my self sabetouring ways….i suck at life, and phail epicly at relationships….

Nah, everything was processed, I was just chewed out because on ALL my pieces of ID, it's just my first and last name, but on ONE it has my middle name which apparently I have to put on my passport application.

I finally got Maya working! HOORAY!

I haven't got a clue how to use it! OH BUGGER!

I haven't yet acquired a graphics card that can handle it! OH MORE BUGGER!

I know where to acquire such a card! HOORAY AGAIN!

It. . . it's over a thousand quid. . .

Maya will run fine even on a 7600gt. Don't bother with the Quadro or their ATI equivalents unless you NEED hardware assisted rendering. Which, judging by the fact you have no idea how to use Maya, won't be an issue.

I'm using it for animation. Potentially long and complicated ones, so yes, I will need hardware assisted rendering.

I'm going to learn how to use it before I spend any money though. I'm not that stupid.

You'd be better off (see: save loads of money) by buying a quad-core processor and an 8800gt. FireGL and Quadro cards aren't worth it, even industry professionals say so. Also, long animations don't take much power, it's when you get into complicated shaders and fluid dynamics that you need more power. Even HWR doesn't provide a huge boost

When you reach the point of fluid dynamics, you can start building render clusters for less than what you'd pay for a FireGL/Quadro. I shit you not.

it seems everytime i go to the dentist, they wanna pull my wisdom teeth…

one guy was like…i see they're growing in somewhat normal. if they hurt at all, i'm gonna have to pull them, do they hurt? "no" well i'm gonna have to pull them, let me get you an appointment "sorry i'm very busy, can i have the number so i can check my schedule for some free time for that" sure " thanks" and i never saw that dentist again….

and the most recent visit, the guy was like…i dont know why anyone would ever want to pull those perfectly healthy teeth….
