If you're only moving within the same city, uhaul is pretty good. If you're moving out of town though, uhaul is awful, awful, awful. They use a separate fleet of trucks and their booking system is slightly different. I've always used them for in-town moves and always been satisfied, but the few times I've had to use them for out of town moves it's been horrible.

Once we were stranded in a tiny town high in the mountains (with forest fire all around it) for a night and a day because the truck they gave us (a 30-year-old 26-footer when we reserved a 10-footer) blew a head gasket or something and water got into the engine. The only uhaul-certified mechanic within miles was out of town. That would have been sort of okay but their help line service is full of morons and liars that we had to keep calling, who denied every time that we'd ever contacted them about a problem. We had to spend the night on the floor of the city hall hallway (next to the sheriff's dispatch office) because the town had no hotels (but the sheriff and his deputy were really nice, as was the sheriff's neighbor who came over with blankets and pillows and air mattresses for us). uhaul didn't get their act together until we told them we were calling from a sheriff's office and the phone calls were being recorded.

I think half the reason they're so shit at out of town moves is because they figure on most people not being able to come back to them to demand refunds, etc. They always refer problems back to the originating branch and if you've moved out of town, sometimes that's not possible. (Mostly though uhaul is terrible because each outlet is run as a franchise which means refunds etc come out of the owner's pocket, not uhauls, and owners never want to lose that money.)

Computer modeling is easy. Working in plastic is hard. You don't cut your fingers to pieces with an X-Acto blade working in Maya/Lightwave etc.
Modelling in plastic, cardboard, metal, wood, etc is fun, but I always give up…

Is that the right flag?

That's "The Haunted Tank" from the classic D.C. war comic G.I. Combat It was a Stuart light tank, commanded by a guy named Jeb Stuart and the tank was haunted by the ghost of J.E.B. Stuart. Naturally the tank flew the Stars and Bars.

That makes sense. The place that was going to rent it to me in town wasn't even a Uhaul station, they just had some sort of contract with them or some crazy shit like that. It just added to their utter unreliability.

Besides, in town you can use the vans or trucks, and I heart those are usually better.

I could type a pretty hefty rant right now but ranting about other drunkduckers is probably against the rules.
Replace their names with random kitchen utensils.

It is kinda lame we can say anything we want against other non-DD artists, but any DDer is a no-no. Understandable though, this place would become the sphincter of drama in days.

I dropped off a rifle at the gun shop at work, and they freakin' lost it. How the hell do you lose a $1,500 rifle in a shop the size of the average office cubicle?

Maybe this would explain it:

If that's what they did, they should have waited till I dropped off one of the others for work to be done on it. It's a dinky little .22, it just has a Leupold scope on it that my uncle gave me for christmas. I was going to drop off a friends pistol today, but now I'm thinking I'll hold off until they find my damn rifle and give it back to me. I just used our shop because it's free for employees but if this sort of crap is going to happen I'll just suck it up and pay for the work elsewhere.

And to top off this shitball of a day, the data stick I had my English term paper on has disappeared and the files on my hard drive got wiped when someone decided to "free up some space". Now I'm sitting here scanning it in page by page and having to proofread for all the stupid little things my scanning software changes on it while trying to be helpful. It even gives me it exactly as it was on the piece of paper when it shows it to me in the preview, then changes it turning stuff like the number 3 into a ) when I save it as an rtf. I've still got another 10 pages to scan and correct. I guess scanning from my hard copy is better than rewriting the whole stupid thing, but it's still a waste of time I could be doing other things with for classes.

grrr. Four more years of this after this one. I HATE FINALS! *headdesk*

We overstuffed a uhaul with crap and my mother's car with crap and then moved from northern VA to southern CA. THAT was a move. Ug. Also, there were five of us and we had a lot of stuff.

I'm a nice, modest person in real life, but on the Internet I can get really snarky and know-it-all. I hate that. I really hate people like that too. (well not hate, a strong dislike, I'd really like to put my stripes back on and pull rank so they get taken down a peg or two and they realize just what a stack of shit they really are, just like everyone else)

I have to go off to anger management training now. ;)

um… ok… so if humans originally came from outer space, then here is what those "UFO" websites say about the human-like aliens:

Pleiadians = Caucasian people.
Agharians = Asian people.
Tau Cetians = Middle Eastern / South Americans
Hav Musuvs = Native Indians
Vegans = Black people

Though most of the time its about white people from outer space. Not too sure if majority of human-type aliens resemble caucasians… or is it just them who are the most vocal?

And then the earth humans are supposedly a mix of reptilian and human genetics. Yes. All earth humans. Its only a question of how much percentage is the reptilian DNA in your blood.

I'm not really a geneticist so I dont really know about that.

And I know this information may offend people, so sorry to those I might offend.

Man, I saw a flame war that happened because of a discussion about which human race has the highest percentage of reptilian dna. Just dont point the finger at the Jews or you'd be called an anti-semite. lol!

lol Its not like I'm gonna break down if I find undeniable proof that I've got a high percentage of reptilian DNA. Like so what. Big deal… its not really that big of an insult.

Vegans = Black people

Hahahaha I'm pretty sure that vegans are people who don't eat meat. I'm also pretty sure that not all vegans are black, and not all black people are vegans.

Or is that vay-gah (phonetic), like the star system? Either way, it caught me as funny.

And I must not have much reptile DNA, because I don't that great of rapport with my brother's iguana. Although I did have to shove her in a box yesterday so we could put her in the car. Now my arms are all scratched up.

Pleiadians = Caucasian people.

Actually Caucasians are Aortheians. No one is supposed to know that, but just thought you'd like to know.

All those UFO aliens=X is really AFSOC mis-information. There are a bunch of professional intell types who laugh hysterically when they read that stuff 'cause people are so gullible. lol!

Just thought you'd like to know. ;)

BTW if you're ever followed by a bunch of guys in dark suits in a curent model sedan, offer them some coffee and donuts. They really appreciate it.

long story short, anybody that's gonna be in vegas circa june 2 hit me up, we'll see if we can gamble and get trashed together!!…..(weekends only)

Yeah… Turning biologically trivial physical differences into "races" is moronic enough (getting cultural differences mixed with Genetics…), but magnifying them into SPECIES differences, and extra terrestrial ones at that is taking racialism and racism to new galactic scale levels. o_O

Ignore those people Kyupol. ;)

GOD they're ugly.
I almost walked into a big hive the other day. They were building a colony in a sewer and I almost accidentally stepped on the manhole. Phwoo!

Damn!

If you'd have fallen in you'd have been a real life Homer Simpson. :(
Jumping out of there smelling of poo with great red welts all over and bees buzzing around your head. Screaming.
Unpleasant, but hilarious. :)

I don't know what being my family pissed off but I swear we're sorry already!

First my sister, who is almost seven months pregnant, found out that the baby has a severe birth defect…and it is killing him. Pretty much it is causing his brain to atrophy. So instead of letting him die slowly, in pain, they are inducing labor. She is going in to do this this coming Friday.

Then, days after I initially found out about my nephew, my grandmother went in to have a quadruple bypass and during the surgery she had a stroke. She never woke up and passed a week later.

A few days before my grandmother passed a friend of mine, who had been ill and was on some meds that made him a bit loopy, died of a accidental OD on his pain meds. They think he thought he hadn't taken them yet and took too many that last time.

THEN, a few hours ago, I get an email from my mom that my cousin was rushed to the hospital. While in the ambulance she coded and was brought back…then again once she got to the hospital. She has not regained consciousness and my mom just told me that they found cancer. Last stage and it has spread to most of her major organs, her lungs are pretty much shredded. There is not anything they can do other than make her as comfortable as possible.

I think were good on family tragedy now thanks….you can stop now universe!

I got rid of Bits and Bytes. For some reason, I just can't seem to duplicate the success of Young Studs. Sometime in the future I will make a comic version of Captain R: The Game Ranger, which will no doubt be a huge success.
