I'm moving in a couple weeks, so I'm stressed out, trying to get all my stuff together, tying up loose ends, etc. Then my house was robbed Sunday night. Now I have to deal with police reports, DMV, credit card companies, etc in addition to trying to move. I have to quit my job early to have time for all of that. I just wrote a check for the rent, which I had to tell my landlord not to cash until money that was used with my stolen debit card gets returned to my account. (I've been living paycheck to paycheck.) And I need to close my account before I move. Oh, and I can't get groceries because I have no cards, no cash, and no IDs (so I can't write checks). Now I'm just stressed and hungry. – And on top of that, I can't sleep and I'm even more paranoid about walking home from work after dark.

Dammit, why does everything in life have such terrible timing? (Not that it would have been "good" any other time.)

On the plus side, I am moving, so there are brighter times ahead – provided I don't lose my mind before I get to them.

I miss my boyfriend terribly. D: I haven't seen him 3 weeks. He's living with his parents over the summer only a 3 hour drive away, but he's too busy working to come over here to visit. Heck, I'd drive over, but I don't have a car! I won't be able to see him for 2 or more weeks. I don't think he misses me as much as I miss him, because he keeps himself busy with a job. Online freelance work is what I'm doing for a summer job, but it doesn't keep me very busy to not think about him. And then three days ago my laptop decided to kill Skype ( how we chatted on webcam). I can't connect on it, even though I cleared my registry. We use Stickam now, but there's a 5 second camera delay, and a 10 second mic delay, which sucks. I hope he doesn't start forgetting about me because of not being able to see eachother. =[

I just did my comic page on my new laptop and sent it over to my old pc- It looks terrible on the old pc >_< So dull and grimy-

But now I don't know which is the correct display, my new laptop or is my pc?

On my pc most whites are slightly yellowish or greyish….and on my laptop the whites are very bright…

Shit…I wonder if all my comics made look weird on my laptop…and therefore weird to others with laptops/normal screens. T_T Ignorance was bliss-

Don't worry, your comic pages look beautiful on a laptop.

I just woke up at 8:00 (11:04 now), by a policeman at my door, asking about a laptop that was stolen.

A reason that he did, is because it was during the last day of school that it was stolen, and it was my locker partner's laptop. So I told him the truth, and come to find out, what I said had NOTHING to do with the day it was stolen. But yet everybody from my Locker Partner's family believes it's me. But it's not. I have no laptop, nor would I ever steal one.

It's so unfair. They're threatning me to go to court, even the police officer did. I didn't do anything. Ugh.

bins

Garbage is serious business in England. I don't mess with the garbage rules. I'm pretty lucky that the paper recycling guys pick up my batch, because I have to stuff it all inside a cardboard box as someone stole my blue bin a few months ago.

and I have to find a way to come up with about $15,000 for school next year.

i know a job that will pay for you college! MWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHHA.
i'll miss your comics if i ever find the energy to start reading them again.(in all fairness, i'm not really reading any comics right now, and it's making me sad…)

I don't know if being ADD qualifies as 4F anymore, but I'm pretty sure I'm 4F anyway for some other reason. Not to mention I seem to have a problem with thinking about what I'm told to do and completely disregarding stupid or pointless orders under any circumstances. The last time I really had any involvement with the military or it's members it just wasn't a good fit. My ideal way of doing things is just a bit too different from theirs.

I'm thinking I'm not actually going to go on hiatus. Despite how tough things are at the moment, it's not like they haven't been tougher for me in the past. Besides, all this craziness is giving me some good concepts to work with. Just the other day I walked into my bathroom to find my 11 month old nephew standing in the sink eating soap and enjoying every minute of it. Of course, now his mother is worried about how my eccentric behavior is affecting his mental growth. lol!

That's a dilemma… You use GIMP too right? I don't know if that has a special colour profile.

Heeeeey… Actually you can set your monitors to have a similar colour profile… and see if that works. Or maybe even just try and match colour settings and both comps. It's annoying, but it makes work on both machines run smoother: you're not always correcting non-existent colour mistakes on both monitors.

Why are people stealing bins? Is Britain THAT crazy?

———————-

This nice looking Apple Keyboard is trying to use. Like a lot of Apple products, they look good, but in practice, there are some issues. some of the keys are placed weirdly-> stupid eject key is where the backspace (called "delete" on an apple board) should be. It really is because I've got the model Apple keyboard before this one as well and it has a more normal PC layout.
The biggest issue is that the nice looking flat keys aren't that good and take a lot to get used to. It's like typing on a calculator!
But I will stick with it… I will hopefully get used to it!

They're special city-issue rubbish bins, tall rectangular ones with lids. Most people only get one, and the garbage men won't collect your garbage if it doesn't fit in the bin. So people steal them to get themselves more garbage-space. Some people write their address in paint on the sides, and some people chain the bins to their fence and stuff :) Thankfully in my city, the council ran out of bins before they could give them to my area so they'll collect ours if they're in black bags. (But ONLY black bags). If you have any trash that doesn't fit comfortably in black bags you have to take them to the garbage collection areas around the city, which at least are free.

With the recycle bins, they're more like a plastic box, and they'd be useful for all kinds of yardwork, storage, etc type things. Again, you only get one, and I suspect people steal them just because they want another one. I wrote my house number on mine but someone took it anyway, if I'm out in the neighborhood on recycle day I always casually check out the blue bins in case I come across mine…

Jebus that's evil. >.<
If you DO get another, chain it!
Bastards stealing bins… :gem:

That said… We only get two in my suburb- a big recycle one with a yellow lid and a small green one for rubbish. No one steals them or whatever, because the rubbish guy probably won't pick up an extra one anyway… no bags or anything else either. They have to be places "just so" on the kerb so the truck's arms will pic it up.
The rubbishman doesn't even get out of the truck these days… :(

BUT if you can't wait for the biennial kerb collection for big stuff, or if you have extra rubbish- the dump DOES cost money. There's only one, I have no idea where it is, and you need a permit to use it.

…when I was little we used to go to the industrial dump to collect and play with stuff… Not these days. -_-

We have two different types of wheelie-bin in our area - dark green for rubbish and light green for stuff that can be recycled.

We also have lists of what is eligible to go in each bin (and woe betide you if you put something in the wrong one!) Plasic bottles, for example, go in the recycle bin. Plastic yoghurt pots don't. I can't see any obvious rationale - it just gives the bin-men an excuse to refuse to take your rubbish if they feel like it.

Oh, and stuff in the recycle bin must not be put in plastic bin-bags before being put in the bin. I think I'm right in saying that's punishable by death.
;-)

I can't chain it to my fence. My house is weirdly placed, so the gate isn't actually near the main road. I have to drag it all the way down the street otherwise they won't see it.

It's not just the binmen who take it seriously either. One of my neighbours started throwing shit at me because I left my bin too close to hers.

ADD can be a very effective tool in combat. It can be used for Situational awareness. The thing that distracts you at the last minute just might save your buddies' life.

The whole order thing is really exaggerated. It's a game. Play the game, say "yes, sir" to everything then do it anyway. (anything you say sir, it's gonna be FUBAR, but I'll do it) The stupidest question is the one that isn't asked and show initiative. Effective leaders will appreciate it and delegate lots of stuff on you. You can go off and do your own thing because you've proven yourself capable of doing it. Follow the orders, question them if they don't sound quite right, but curb your tongue unless you have a plan to improve on the planning.

And play the game. If a smart-aleck know-it-all college boy with biologically based depression can do it, you can. Improvise, overcome, adapt.

It's all about attitude and putting up with lots of small stuff so the big stuff gets done.

Yeah, I can sell this shit because if you're high speed, low drag and show you have intitiative and can lead and others will follow, they'll get out of your way.

were you special stuff? i've heard that before. i believe it's with the PJ's.

anyways iba, you could do all that stuff that bravo says….or you could join the air force, and keep your head down. make sure people see you at least once whne you're supposed to be somewhere. and join a fun career field. 1aX. plenty of trips. yeah it's taken me 3 years to get my associates, but it's been fun and i've done things i prolly never would have if i'd stayed in college.

not that i'm a recruiter.

also, i bought a couch set to day, and then realized i wont be able to do what i wanted. put the big couch in the living room, and the double, (not a love seat) in the entertainment room. cause the the double and my hallway are opposite sizes. now i'm hungry and must finish cleaning the entertainment room.

ya… so today we had a competition at work to see who can sell the most combo's( I work at a movie theater). Well… I ended up losing….to myself. How? Well, I basically sold the most, but because the register wasn't labeled as mine, that person won! She even left work early!!! *sigh*

Oh, nothing much going on over here. Just wishing I had some idea of where I am going to go with my other, main Vampire Phantasm comic when VP X is finished.

I've considered just finishing up the chapter 1-3 remakes and finally continuing at chapter 8 as I had originally planned, I've considered starting it from the end VP X…sort of making that the first official arc of VP instead of just a side prequel comic, and I've….sort of dreadingly considered restarting a fourth freakin' time. >_>

But what it really needs, whether I continue from where I left off or not…is a plot I can live with. ….it doesn't. have. enough. plot.

my comic has no plot. most will be amazed that i really had nothing planned out after the groom ran away. (the first five pages) i've kinda done them all in groups, so almost everything was drawn out in a similar direction. but i did plan out some comedic points, and kind of guided the direction of the story from there. but now that i have one comedic point left. and that i havent been home for more than a week in the past 3 months hasnt really helped. but i should have more time soon. i should at least close it up, rather than leave it sit.

It's not that surprising really, virtually no one plans out their webcomics. That's why most of them suck,

That's a Lefarcian generalisation. I didn't know you were a pupil at his feet? A student of that vaunted school.

I hear the hazing rituals are pretty rough :(

——————-
Many webcomics follow plans, mostly story comics, but also some strips. Overall they have a looser structure than a lot of other media (even when they do follow plans), which allows them to be more free flowing and creative, able to incorporate other new ideas, respond to events quite fast and show changes in style and technique without too much fuss.

That's really quite a massive advantage. :)

I agree completely.

The two most important things, IMO, a web comic needs is:
1.A fucking plot.
2.Pages done and in the can.

I didnt put anything up until I had 8+ pages
