Second off, I'm a little miffed about not having a great idea of where to take this girl on our second actual date this Sunday.
Are there any bands playing? Music performances of some kind? You could see if there are any plays on, go to an art gallery… There are always heaps of small art galleries everywhere, one might have an opening on, maybe even with stuff you like showing. :)

Or you could do something fun like going to a big toyshop, or maybe just have lunch at a pleasant restaurant, maybe near the beach :)

———–
I rarely have much to rant about, I just like poking my nose into people's business. :P

Everything here in Colorado closes between 4PM and 5PM as far as any kind of art gallery or museum goes. Even the zoos close early.

There's no bands playing ,and the one place I can think of which does, doesn't have anyone playing until after 10PM and she has to be in to work at 5:45 on Monday. Plus, it's a ten minute walk from the parking area…which charges $10 (on the low end) to park, because there is no public parking…fucking Denver.

Also, I'm in Colorado, so there are no beaches. I'm not all up for the food thing because you spend your time stuffing your face rather than talking for most of the time, and if for some reason things go bad (I HIGHLY doubt, trust me), it becomes awkward because people generally feel obligated to sit there and finish the meal.

I have a few ideas. I just wish the botanical gardens was going to be open past 4:15…seriously, Colorado, WTF?

A walk in the park is almost always a winner Croi. It gives you talking time, without having nothing to do, and from my experience, any time a girl just gets to talk to her guy, she's usually pretty happy.

Plus, it's cheap and you can end up finding some interesting things along the way.

That's pretty much what we are going to end up doing. She specifically said that she "really, really" doesn't care if she's spending time with me. Call me gullible, but I actually believe this one when she says it.

*ahem* My rant for today is that I'm clearly bitter and judgmental. Shame on me - I'm too young to be crotchety!

Psh, she's as big a Beatles fan as I am. I had to yell at her the other day for kissing Paul on one of the album covers. Getting it all slimy.

Which brings me to a new rant: my family does not treat my records with respect. I always find them on the floor and stuff.

Tell me about it. I got a scratch on Revolution 9 - bugs me every time I hear it!

I think I could claim that as early as 12 (when the ditziness was no longer confused with childlike whimsy).

My rant is, pepsi is stupid.

I hate it.
I hate all soda.
I really really do…

I hate it because it's do dang addicting.
I swear, I used to be able to drink a 2-liter in a matter of a few short hours.
I believe I've tried quitting a total of 3 times so far.

But, I swear, this is the last time. I'm on a strict tea/water diet.

Unsweetened tea is REALLY good for you btw. All those antioxidants and such.

And this girl I really really really really like, is going to homecoming with another guy. Which I don't mind, because she just likes him as a friend. I've heard she likes me, and I have her best friend helping me to get her, so I really have nothing to worry about.

Maybe after I ask her out, I'll write her a poem or something…eh, who knows.

Not all of them lack flow but the majority do, sometimes it's better to just have the character say nothing and show the damn art. I get quite sick of Peter Parker Spidermans constant chatterboxing during fights, sonofabitch talks during EVERY panel. Oh well i stopped reading it

Yeah. But it's alright. She's definitely worth the wait.
And the only reason she is going with him, is because her friends practically begged her to go.
I would've asked her, but I can't dance for crap.

Oh man, I got some crazy allergic reaction or something tonight! My hands got all puffy and weird, and I have no idea what the heck it was from. It really freaked me out, though. It went down after I took an anti-whatever you call them, but my right index finger is still kind of swollen and stiff…and the others are still just a little wonky. I love my tiny adorable hands, so this really sucks for me.

It's 2:30 in the morning and I would love to go to bed but I just remembered that my brother and I have laundry in the laundry room of our apartment complex and we forgot to throw our clothes in the dryer. So now I have to go throw them in the dryer and hope they're not all disgusting from laying wet in the washer all day.

Poop.

crap…i just realized that i missed a thread that would have been great to promote my website….where was it all week?

anyways, thanks to ozone, i'm now going around asking any and all colleges about their scholarships. i italicized it, because in the first email i was proof reading it, (i want to make it look nice and neat and formal) and i saw that i had spelled it wrong in every instance i used it. i felt like a complete tard. i still kinda do.

but i went thru and was able to correct it all.

also, time is moving slow…even when i sleep it's not passing time like it normally does. good news is, i'm halfway to my goal by losing 10 pounds. luckily my goal is impossible. not impossible but impractical, you see i set a ridiculous goal, so that i can't slack off. because i'll always be working to achieve it. It seems lately that the famous saying that's driving my life is

If you shoot for the moon, at least you'll land among the stars.

I know nothing of this alleged manga and yet you unearth many valuable artyfacts.
Can you tell me where to locate representative examples of these eastern letterythings and display them on my lightsquare of knowledge?

I can see that. And, as you said, there are some exceptions.

That is one reason why I, as an aspiring comic artist and writer, appreciate manga and the art that isn't just in the illustrations.

Cone ON you two. Unless you only read the original Japanese versions…

With the Japanese comics what you've got there are indeed well placed speech bubbles, initially, but there's also a LOT of work by American artists on there to reformat the pages the other way around and fit in the translated English dialogue in there in just the right way so it looks good and makes sense. ;)

So with the Japanese comics (in the American versions) you have an extra layer of work going on in them that comics don't usually have.

You duped me into giving you a pageview with that line: pants on every one of 'em.

This is fascinating stuff I hadn't considered. It also seems that manga presents far fewer panels per page than American style comics and makes for a quicker read. Do we now have a generation who find their home grown comics too much hard work?
I mean, if you go back even further to the origins of American comics, there was even more crammed into each page. Artists like Byrne Hogarth used to work on huge boards, twice the size of the printed page, which made for much greater detail. Now it's only 'half up' at best.

Actually that only applies to Dark Horse and other smaller companys, the big two (VIZ and tokyopop) just edit in the words crammed into a japanese speech bubble and translate the sfx on the more quality titles (VIZ does a much better job, Tokyopop is used for el cheapo mass reproduction) The pages still flow. :)

Another thing is scanslators that i get the majority of my manga from, they do not touch the originals (i know because i've seen the raws of the manga usually, i'm impatient) they just edit in the text and leave the rest alone and it still flows wonderfully. ^^

It's just because manga artists treat it as part of the art, they draw the bubble into the panel in the preliminary stage and their editors make sure they had no trouble reading it when they look it over. American comics have a team for pencils, color, and then a letterist to slap on the bubbles and try not to ruin the art that's been done.

…..i feel like such a japanophile right now -_-

And…it's unfortunately looking like you're absolutely right. I should have known to never let my guard down with someone…I feel like such a fucking god damn idiot.

I need to learn to forever stick with my, "Fuck you, keep back. You're not going to fuck with me." Others have said it, I believed it, but I wanted to suspend my disbelief for a short time, but it looks like it's always going to be true, "You're just one of those people who will be alone all your life. Not lonely, just alone."

I'm just going to go back to my three date rule, backhanded compliments, treating them like trash instead of being NICE and refusal to give a shit.

Well, you lost your chance, and she's playing you. Take it from someone who's been around the block a few times. She's not worth the wait. You're going to keep waiting, and keep waiting, only to end up with nothing because you're so focused on this one person, who obviously isn't returning the favor.

Trust me. Either try to get on that now or give up.

I actually just gave up.
She sent me a message yesterday, and acted like a total *****.
So. I'm totally done with her.
I'm not even really hurt, sadly, it's happened so often, I don't even care :\
