Damnit comic creators that I like, why do you have to come out with books and stuff when I'm poor? It's not fair. It's like your saying, "Hey dick, we got this here uh, thing you like, but you ain't gonna get it. sucks to be you, mate." and I'm all like "FFFFFFFFFFFF" then I'm sad.
wait wat.

So it appears it is still rather early on a Saturday morning, and I actually feel like working on my comic (to a certain hardcore extent). Feels good man. I dunno how much I'll be able to ink/color, but getting ANYTHING done would be a blessing. I wanted to get the entire chapter done by…well…yesterday. But motivation and stuff has really sucked the past week. Actually, I shouldn't say motivation, It's more or less just distractions. Like, I constantly have something on my mind, and I can never really stop thinking. So it's like my mind just never wants to say, "Hey, let's take a break and do something relatively easy." With that said, if I think/remember anything I have/want to do, I'll end up putting the pen down, and doing that task, by the time all those tasks are done, I'll have maybe a panel inked, if that, before I go to bed. I'd say more, but something I'm getting today (yes, it's legal) is going to help me with all that. There's a lot more to it, but I don't really feel like sharing. Let's just say I'll be a much happier, and hopefully more productive Ryu.
if this works, my plans to take over the world are good as go- what. i didn't say anythign.

Walking home the youngest was so tired I ended up carrying him and my daughter who spent over an hour in locked in the toilet wet herself. That is supremely hilarious! I'd love to see that in a British sitcom :)
In other news: My cut finger is slowly healing and is not hampering my typing speed at all anymore…Owwww…
My cat bit my finger today. When he wants to get playful I'll let him bite my hands for fun, but this time the little bugger got carried away and bit right in. Hurt like F*ck. Not much blood but a bit… never take chances with cat bites though! I sterilised it right away and bandaged it.
In and hour or so there was no pain at all anymore. Now I can't even notice the bite mark. So PHEW!!!! Lucky. It was on my drawing hand too.
right now I'd be thrilled to get 10 or 12 done.WTF? I have two kidneys, a fine spine and no arthritis and I couldn't finish a single page in less than four weeks! Even at top speed, working full on at my fastest I could only do one page of Pinky TA in 3 days.
So 10 a week is still nothing to sneeze at.
I can't make pages that are coloured as well as those of pinky TA but yeah I can see they take ages. A while back I was managing between 12 and 20 full colour pages a week but it left me burned out. That said I have done 16 pages this week for various different stories and need to get three more done before monday. Those I will do as my wife watches the x factor tonight and tomorrow.
My main problem was the situations were often so ridiculous i couldn't take them seriously, and yeah i kept imagining all the writers as big fat wet blankets. It had a great twist for one of the storylines though.HungThey kept setting up these crazy situations and playing them for the drama… It's like they have warring writers- one group wants to go for the funny, then the others come along and sabotage everything.

Yay my new purse:
I'm so depressed right now.
You see, my dog is missing. my apartment didn't allow dogs so she's living with my parents right now.
She's very old…. 105 years in dog years, actually. that's 17 years old in human years. She's white in the face now, as most dogs do when they get old.
my parents still haven't found her at all… but they think she might had wandered off to die on her own.
since how dogs like to die alone…. so they often wander away from the pack to die under a bush or something.
I know she was going to die one day… but I still want her to live a while longer, and that she'll be found again.
it's like one part of me is braced for the invenabity that she'll be found dead of natural causes, and the other part is hoping that she'll be found alive.
it's been two days that she's gone missing.
@ aurora moon
That is sad. The death of a pet is one of the saddest things there is. I hope you find her alive even if it's only to say good bye.

bad haircut here. Take Same's picture, shorten the hair (something between Julie Andrews and Mr Clean), squeeze the face and voila: ayesinback
yeah, yeah. it'll grow back eventually
So I dreamt that I was a World War II infantryman. We were assaulting a POW camp and had taken out the guards outside the fence and I was in one of their foxholes. A German heaved a potato masher grenade at me and as I saw it flying I knew it would land in my hole. I did a perfect roll out of the hole, over the sandbags and hit my head on a dresser drawer handle waking me up. I had rolled out of bed, onto the floor, hit my head but had landed in a combat ready crouch cradling the rifle I had been holding in the dream. Pretty real as I had even felt the chin strap of the helmet digging into my chin as I rolled. I wish I had been wearing that helmet.
Beats the heck out of my usual nightmare where I wake up thrashing around even throwing punches. One time I woke up throttling my pillow as if it was someone's neck which it had been in the dream.
First weekend back at work and I spent it telling over and over the story of my fall down the elevator shaft. That and the wireless mouse for my laptop died. The stupid light dies after a minute or two. But at least I'm a lot closer to finishing a script.
@ Aurora- That's horrible! :(
@ Ayes- hahahahahahahaha…
hahahahahahaha!
hahahahahahaha! Soloution: hats! ;)

My stomach hurrrrrrrrrtssssss! I bought a massive bag of almonds and cashews as snacks and pigged out on them. D:
Concrete stomach.
My cheek hurts! Sinus infection. Nasal spays aren't really helping…
I'm currently watching all of House Of Elliot on DVD. I bought it for all the 1920's period fashions and styles that're in it. They are and they're magnificent! Beautiful hairstyles, clothes… lovely looking series. The story has a tendency to tick historical boxes though, which is annoyingly obvious when it happens. But apart from that it's great. It's great to see a vision of the 1920's that's not from the American perspective for once- Unlike the US, times were tough in Britain, they had general strikes, a fading empire, mixing of the classes, but they also had no prohibition, so no speakeasies, no gangsters…
etc etc.
my dog was found alive! she fell in the culvert on the other side of the road and didn't have enough strength to get out on her own. so she had to be grabbed and pulled out of there.
my parents reported she was very hungry when she got back into the house. I'm gonna go see her when I'm able to.

When I read your previous post I was going to post something like…
"prepare for the worst you may never find out what happened to her." but thought it sounded cruel so I didn't bother. phew!
good news.
On a similar note, a few years back I went to visit my gran with my brother in law in tow. Normally the dog, Juno (no not the terrible terrible movie) would greet you enthusiastically. when she didn't I said huh, no Juno. He said, "maybe she's dead." knowing it was silly as she wasn't that old and pretty healthy.
In side I ask my Gran, "where's Juno?"
"She died this morning." came the reply.
he felt crap for joking about it.
To be honest, I was preparing myself for the worse. I was already writing an monologue about our time together, the times when I bottle-fed her as a newborn puppy (since her mother was no longer alive) all the way up to when the both of us became adults. since how I wanted to hold some kind of memorial for her, even if her body couldn't be found for her to be buried next to her mother like I wanted. Since her mother was my last dog and all.
I even had the pictures to go with the written monologue, and it got me all teary-eyed. Ah well… even if she gets to be alive for a while longer, I'm definitely using this at her funeral when she eventually hits the bucket.
but for now, I can just breathe easier, and content in the knowledge that I'll see my dog alive again.
I'm glad you found your dog. I'd be devastated if one of my dogs ran away and i never found out what happened. huzzah!

Hi everyone,
This is Allen from Due East. I just wanted to say hi after a little absence from the forums. I've still been following DD comics and still helping create comics (Pitface recently updated the art for Bones & Chance). My wife and I have been actively preparing more Due East, too.
I also found out I'm going to be a dad again next May! We're pretty excited about it, even though it was a surprise. Our sons recently turned 12 and 15, so this is new…
@Aurora Moon: I'm glad to hear your dog was found. :)
I've had my dog go missing a couple times. She usually comes home dragging half of some critter like a raccoon or bird she's killed, across one of the farm fields. She's even come home with a chunk of coyote once. It happens a lot out in the boonies.
I just bought one of those old tin pots of a helmet that US soldiers wore in world war II. I have no reason to buy one, nor do I need it or have the money for it really, but I wanted it so I could paint on it. Maybe if I get really gung-ho about collecting stuff I'll buy the rest of an airborne trooper's outfit, just because it would be a cool Halloween costume. I just don't know what I should paint onto it. I want to do some stencils, but I'm just not sure quite what.
Aurora Moon, I am so glad to hear about your dog! Give him lots of hugs.
Seventy2, I dunno what your tests are for but numbers are nice and I hope they mean you did a good job! congrats I think!
dueeast, welcome back!
iba, I'm not the war memorabilia expert here (I'm sure they'll check in) but iirc authentic ww2 gear can be hard to come by and may be valuable to some degree, so I'd… I dunno, do something. :]

Yeah, I know. I thought about it for a bit, and decided I'm not quite that disrespectful, so I opted to pick up a replica Vietnam era M-1 helmet to paint on instead. I'm still thinking on buying the original anyway, but I figure that it's probably just better to do it this way.
Uh, you know that game where a Nazi Player Killer group appeared at? It's getting weirder..I found a group fighting them, apparently they drove them into my suburb, the Communist party of Malton. Weird, and it gets weirder, now I'm allied with them and my few friends fighting with me, and we're heading into a northern suburb to recruit more commies and some former hospital staff.
My month has been pretty lousy so far.
Remember my heart incident? (Edit: Found my original rant about it) Well, it came back. The swelling returned around the beginning of this month and I had to go to the hospital again. Apparently the heart had some sort of relapse which caused the swelling to return. Thankfully it didn't turn out to be as serious as the one I had originally and I was out of the hospital the same day. However, in order to prevent it from returning again, I have to be on the anti-inflammatories for another month and take it super easy, just as the dancing classes that I enjoyed taking has started again for the year and I'm still not allowed to exercise. I've also had to cut out allot of activities that I enjoy doing, while I'm recovering.
My nephew got served a subpoena for custody rights for his child. Now he has to spend the next few months battling in court so that he can keep his kid. While it doesn't personally affect me per say, I still consider that to be bad news for my family.
My pet bunny just died this morning. She was having some issues with her breathing and looked dizzy. I called the vet, who naturally wasn't available, because it's weekend so I had to look up her emergency phone and the bunny died as I was talking to her on the phone.
Now it's sitting in a plastic bag on my balcony so I can take it to the vet when they open up tomorrow.
And now I'm starting to realize that when people abbreviate "Product Placement", they get a childish joke out of it. Well, I'm in a foul mood right now so I'm having none of that. I don't want to see people abbreviate it any more. Instead I would like it that you call me "Product" for short, if writing the full thing is too much.
I'm still hoping for a good end though but that depends on how my meeting with the doctor will go next Tuesday. You see, I made plans to head off to America for a week long visit and the flight is in 6 days now. However, if the doctor doesn't think I'm fit for travel, he will ground me, just like he can ground pregnant women. I've already payed for the damn ticket and am going to have a fit if that ends up being the case.
…and I bet that's bad for the heart.
>: /
P.S.
Goodbye Snowflake, you spunky little ball of fluff.
is writing again…oh well, it all comes off the top of my head anyway >: /
*kicks her own ass making it happen*
MEANWHILE, i might be getting my bunnies made into plushies ^^
i'm currently playing phone tag with a company that did some cute stuffies for some of my friends~ x__x merde~
we'll see how much this costs .__. i'm not sure i want 200+ plushies hangin around x__0
quote first, numbers later x__o
silly business junk~
…i hate Sundays cuz i know i can't sleep in for Monday = le suck.

with certain companies, under circumstances like this, you can get a refund, or a blank ticket. Now i realize that there are pry other plans tied to the ticket, but checking into that will more than likely help.

those are decent scores. in order they are the 1.5 mile, pullups, situps, pushups, 2 sets of 20 meter underwater, and a 500 meter swim. I passed them all
They're for trying to get a new job. pararescue. I submit the paperwork, and then some dudes sit around and debate whether or not to give me a slot to attempt to be part of the most elite special tactics group in the DoD.
here's hopin.

Several million M1 helmets were made from 1941 to 1978 so there is no lack of them. Often when buying one you have to be careful as most have replacement liners, all different kinds of headbands and there can be mixes of shells and liners.
As for painting it. The USN had their's labeled with different designations in WWII and after, the US Army had divisional and or tactical insignia stenciled on the pots. Most commonly there was the 3rd ID insignia on the sides, First ID on the front, the playing card insignia from the 101 ABN as made famous in "Band of Brothers" and the rank insignia on the front and rear. Then post war the liners were highly shined with special insignia for parades. Check out the US Army "Constabulary" after World War II or the various bands wearing their liners and that glorious polished helmet worn by Patton.
Then there's MPs, SPs, Snow Drop MPs, any number of Medic/corpsman insignia how about that beautiful sky blue with the UN stenciled on the fornt?
And when not busy wearing it, take the liner out of the steel pot and try making eggs in the pot. Really it's fun.
And all the variations of camouflage covers? Open net, tight net, Beach head, Sand Beach reversible, Jungle, BDU, Desert…
That helmet was worn for 40 plus years so there are more painted insignia than you can imagine. And the outer shell really makes a good stew pot.
Goodbye Snowflake, you spunky little ball of fluff.Awwww! Baby :(
That's a shame man.
BTW, with the other connotations of "PP", not many of us would be thinking of urine. As far as I know it's only a term (peepee) that very young children and their mothers use, American ones at that.
…i hate Sundays cuz i know i can't sleep in for Monday = le suck.Yup!. Worst thing about Sunday- have to get up again the next day :(
That's why Fridays are so awesome. I liked it better when I didn't work regular days and weekends were totally meaningless.
And the outer shell really makes a good stew pot. With all that paint, polish, grease, and sweat?
I raise an eyebrow to you sir!
…Perhaps if you had nothing better to use, but I imagine most would prefer an actual stewpot and a well maintained on that that.
I have three WW2 US army helmets.
My uncle works in exploratory mining… leading expeditions all over the place to find likely places that're rich in various minerals. during one expedition to some godforsaken location in the middle of the dead dry heart of this country, he found 3 US army helmets lodged all together in the fork of an old dead tree- left over from the war.
They were all rusted together when he gave them to me… it took ages to get them apart. They all have rusty holes in them in various places (paper thin on top), but the metal is still solid toward the rim, and rims themselves are made of stainless steel or something… still pretty shiny!
My month has been pretty lousy so far. That is a pretty bad month so far, and October is not much more than midway. Hoping the remainder of the month swings the pendulum back into place. On a plus note, happy anniversary — I just noticed that today is your DD anniversary.
