I've only been drunk once, and it kinda resulted in me and my husband getting together. Long and embarrassing story. ^_^;

I spent nearly the entire year between my 21st and 22nd birthday drunk. (practically my first year on drunk duck). but not because i wasn't used to partying. mostly because the wife left me. although me getting drunk was a reason for us getting back together.

if you'd like to read more, just go to the earlier rant threads. I was pretty emo, and always posting about it.

Now, i rarely get drunk. mostly i just try to get buzzed.
—–

Hmmmm, i just found my first posts…they aren't emo at all. I was so drunk i didn't even remember that.

Most brits will have learned first hand about getting drunk regularly by the age of ten.

Went to this little Russian store to exchange a shirt my mom got me, and talked with the owner for a bit. He's the most interesting guy…he was telling me all about how hard it is to do business bringing things over from Russia.

A hawk took one of my chickens :( I want to cry…

I'm really sorry, Skullbie. : (

Ugh… I hope that hawk didn't literally tear its way into the cage to get at them. I've seen a pack of feral dogs rip a cage open myself… Then again, feral dogs and chicken hawks are two different animals…

———-

Ugh… It's raining a lot again. Another night of work sitting in the rain on a chair with a large umbrella over my head… I guess it's worth having a paycheck to put up with this.

Bad headache, so I took my strong headache pills… I was going to hold off as long as possible because they make me feel tired and supremely emotionally flat and apathetic (the change is amazing), but the pain was getting too much.

I've come to realise that I really dislike neat, ordered, well trimmed gardens. I really, really, really dislike them on a strange fundamental, mental level. -Not that I prefer outright neglect either, it's just that plants, trees, flowers and grasses should be able to take a more natural, messy, scruffy appearance. That to me is beautiful.
Extreme order artificially applied to plants just seems so wrong.

My mother calls those types of people with really artificial and manicured gardens "Garden/Lawn Nazis".

Uuuugh, I have to spend time with my depressing, jerk of a brother next weekend, great, just what I need, four days of "Fuck, you're an idiot Bethany, Fuck, fuck, fuck, why you so dumb and wrong all the time? Why do you even exist? Don't answer back! Fuck, Why are you so rude?"

I don't see the point of spending time with someone who obviously thinks it's alright to insult me because I'm the "little" sister, I really don't. I don't really care if he's family, he treats us all like shit and then expects us to forgive him at the drop of a hat. I wouldn't tolerate this kind of behaviour from friends, why should I tolerate it from him just because he happens to be my brother?

On a completely unrelated note, my sister gave him some Terry Pratchett books two weeks ago to give to me when he picks me up to go to dads. Apparently, he's kept them for himself.

I think I know the feeling… I've got quite a jerk of a cousin myself (no… not the perverted one). I really gotta stop mentioning him and his wife. He refused to attend the rosary that was held for my grandmother when she died…. and uses his diabetic condition as an excuse for his behavior. Heck. I'M diabetic, but I don't act like a jerk to other people… well… not intentionally anyway…

My lawn looks like a slightly overgrown meadow. It's comforting to walk through even if it is only 72" wide.
Strangely I also love Japanese gardens with it's order, but it knows it's artifical, it's all so Zen and feels right so unlike many ordered Western gardens.

Good weekend at work and my current comic can now update daily through September. A happy by-product of the comic style. All the hard stuff is done when prepping panels. Once they're done and I get 'round to assembling pages it's clear sailing.

I saw some stuff that I've wanted forever and I have no money. Damn economy. Anyone got $200 they can give me?

I don't think my garden looks like that - maybe. If you're talking about symmetry and formal, definitely not. I'll have to take some pix.

actually, if I have any artistic talent, I think it's my gardening. I've been at it a lot longer than drawing

Anybody know a site where I can find some cool hats?

So far I've got:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/76284594/awesome-face-hat?ref=cat3_gallery_19
http://www.etsy.com/listing/62395269/kingdom-hearts-heartless-hat-blind?ref=cat3_gallery_38
http://www.etsy.com/listing/63957257/invader-zim-irken-cap-cosplay-hats-by

But the "awesome" one isn't too well made. If it was I would definitely get it.

So…um…help?

I'm home alone for about the billionth time in my three days of summer. And now I'm stuck sitting around, waiting on people to go on the forums and watching Fat Albert
(the movie).

Ive noticed that more and more drunk duck users are playing minecraft.
We should probably set up a drunk duck minecraft server. I couldnt be bothered though.
Crap computer.

In other news. Ive not been able to sleep well in weeks. I find myself either waking up too early or not going to sleep until well after 6am and waking up at about 12.
Recently though ive not slept much at all. I slept from 7:30am to 9am today. I was getting hand tremors and leg tremors.
Passed the course though which is good news. Bad news however is that this will not get me into university alone.
Id need another course to do that.
As it is though I think im better off getting a job.

Gardens- I do like a touch of natural in them. That's just me, I don't have anything against those who like it differently. :)

Hats- man Leet… to me, none of those are cool or hats. But' that's only because I am a horrible, horrible hat nerd of the most vile sort.
These are some cool hats:

You have some of those, or similar ones…don't you? I can swear I've seen a picture of you with them…

Other than that, yeah, mine aren't too "amazing". I do like the fur one you sent though… :)

And I didn't even think of checking EBay.

@leet: I'm definitely not the same kind of hat nerd as oz, but I have what I think is a pretty nice little collection.
A hat would have to be pretty nice for me to order it online, though…I feel like half the fun of getting a new hat is going out and finding it.
Some places I've gotten my hats:
- weird vintage clothing/book store
- street markets
- my great-grandma's place after she died :\
- teeny hat store in the bad part of town

Aaaaaaaaaaand 36 hours I made it. Failed miserably at both the sobriety thing and the saving money thing. Had such a crap day at work yesterday that I got home dyin' for a f*cking beer. Then after I got off work at 2 am ended up out with some buddies 'til six in the morning. (The bars here never close. No last call = the danger zone.) Spent $40 too, although about $10 was on for my boyfriend and some friends he was havin' over for dinner while I was at work, $10 on smokes, and another $10 on fancy french pastries to take back to my boyfriend at the end of the night (er, begining of the morning). So I only spent about $10 on beer- but only cuz the buddies were mostly buying.

So back on the wagon I guess. :( I really don't feel like it, but I want to prove somethin' to myself.

you can't run a marathon on your very first day out there. 36 hours is 36 hours. next up is 48!

If i don't injure my leg i'm going to run more miles in 3 weeks, than i did all of last month.

Ozone and skoolmonkee-

I had a theory, and so i tested it.
Lately i got a new laptop, and i can only be logged into 1 at a time. so sometimes i lurk without logging in.
When i do this, i noticed the forum seemed to load quickly. I logged into DD while in one computer and browsed on the other.
The results are noticeably different. nearly 2-3 times faster than when logged in. Same network, same browser.

i don't know if this has been done before, or tested, but i just noticed that.

What do you do if someone who you did a commission for keeps posting your artwork claiming that it's theirs?

This girl commissioned me in February and I told her she could use the picture as much as she wanted as long as she credited me as the artist. She did that once… then she got into some drama and deleted her entire dA gallery. She reuploaded everything and made a bunch of wallpapers and character sheets using my art and hasn't credited me on any of them. She's been thanking people when they tell her that they love the art and her style and saying that she worked hard on it. : /

Apparently someone else pointed out that I did the original image and her response was that she created the character, so she owns the art and can post it without crediting me. Then she hid the comments.

I just heard about this and I'm a little unsure as to what to do. Do I just let her do whatever she wants with the art, since she paid for it, even though she's ignoring the terms we discussed? Or do I mention our contract? D:

OH ALSO

Just because this is hilarious.

She commissioned porn of the character from someone else using my art as the model. Just… lol.

Contact one of the DA admins, though, I don't know who they are, I only know a few of the mods… Ask them to remove the artwork from the person's gallery. You could try talking to the girl and give her a chance to remove the work on her own, pointing out that its stealing. Though from what you'e described, she seems to be well aware of this fact… So, I think contacting the admins would be the way to go…

dA is totally cool with art theft and would probably take her side, since she paid for it. : /

I'm probably not going to do anything about it… I was looking around and it seems like most people realize that I'm the original artist since I've posted it on dA and on MHdolls.com… I just wish she wouldn't be so bitchy when someone points out that she didn't draw it. >>;

Wow, DA has certainly gone down hill since I had been on there, that really sucks that they put profit before the artists who make up that site. Disgraceful. :/ But at least you've got some fans who know that its not hers and point it out.

Ugh… I think my father has finally gone senile. I sent him a Happy Fathers Day message, and he sends me back the same message he's been sending me… he wants me married and with child… NOW!!! Nevermind the fact that I have no prospects or that unlike him my luck with women has been terrible (the ones I've met so far all have husbands, boyfriends, GIRLFRIENDS, or issues that make them undesirable).

*sigh*

I want to get myself into a happy marriage and there's a slim chance of that happening if I just marry any woman on the street… -_-
