Ahaha! Commode-ification of historiographical essays sounds perfect right about now.
The Quackcast is going live later today… tomorrow for all you people on the other side of the dateline. This time the subject was based on another HippieVan newspost- Comics for people who hate comics. Abt Nihil, Pitface and Tantz joined us, it was fun and intelectual!
But I still have some extra bandwidth on Lybsin left before the end of the month… I'm thinking of squeezing in an old deleted Quackcast if I still have time and restoring it to the archives. :)
HippieVan wrote: Ha! Well unfortunately your suggestion came too late, but I did just set that as the wallpaper on my iPad. Who is that?
It's Valkyrie, in her first appearance, Avengers #83 from 1970. She was actually an old foe, The Enchantress, who disguised herself and talked some other female heroes into going up against their male counterparts to prove their worth. They called themselves The Lady Liberators, Marvel's take on a current social issue. As a time capsule this is a very cool comic!
The Enchantress was exposed of course, after some ass kicking women's lib', but the character obviously went down well because she was resurrected as a superhero in her own right, starring in another superteam, The Defenders for a while and is still around I think. Unfortunately, the resurrected version didn't us her powers to promote radical feminist activism, which made her much less fun than the original!
Interesting! Despite having read a lot of Avengers and Defenders I don't remember seeing her. I'll have to see if I can find any of that though, it sounds pretty fun.
So #62 was three years ago already? I didn't realize I'd been Quackcastin for that long!!
I know RIGHT? I didn't know I'd done more without Skool than with her! It was dickinsh of Jacob to just go and delete them… Maybe they're still on itunes? Could anyone with that aful program installed please look for early Quackcasts on there please?
As soon as I noticed the Quackcasts were being deleted, I started downloading full episodes on iTunes (starting at #18). I have a good chunk of the first hundred, but I have no clue how to save them besides recording the actual audio file.
Now that's an idea for a comic. Duck Defenders facing all kinds of horrible foes who are trying to keep the lost treasure of the Quackcast from the regular folks of the Duckiverse. Maybe be done like the round robin DD Soap we did all those years back. ——————————————————————————-
And there was this huge Charlie Foxtrot (Cluster Fuck) at work when the Account Manager paniced and rewrote the schedule without checking with the client. He decided to keep a post open that the client wanted closed. And then the client found out and called him and it all had to be changed back. I ended up closing the post and doing a 12 hour shift. But now I have a new schedule with mornings and weekends off. I'll actually be able to spend some time with my family this Easter! These holy-days stopped being about deities for me a long time ago and now it's about seeing those unique people I'm related to.
Maybe the duck defenders could fail and die horribly each time in a tragic comic fashion like Aeon Flux from the Liquid TV shorts, or Space Dandy.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Stupid blody Cadbury cream egg! Was SUPPOSED to be filled fith strawberry cream, but nooooo, instead they're almost solid shity Cadbury psuedo chocolate with two small pockets of almost flavourless pink snot. If I wanted to eat just Cadbury choclate I'd have sewn my mouth shut insted… or maybe loked lips with a horse anus… both beter alterbative to that awful excuse for artificial chocloate.
You should try those Cadbury mini eggs. They are not filled with that white or pink liquid stuff and the chocolate is a pretty good standard.

Stagnation.
This is something most people fear whether it is getting stuck in a dead-end job, career, or relationship. The way I feel about stagnation is similar to that precise moment in a car driving onto a freeway on-ramp and accelerating to get up to speed with the vehicles already on the road. There are blind spots and I know very well that those large SUVs and trucks are moving at speeds that can ram the back of my car if I don't get up to 65mph in ten seconds. There is a split-second of doubt as to whether I will make the lane change into the middle lane right before merging that is crippling and debilitating.
I have observed enough board meetings where the head director in charge kept time and reminded everyone to "Move smartly along", but how often is that phrase applied in daily usage when we are not as smart and don't know how to "move along".
Earlier tonight I made a dent in cleaning my room. I dusted off my two luggage bags and placed them on a high shelf. Lifting them up reminded me how those bags have been with me on a few of my journeys of my twenties. I wonder how far my next journey will take me.
I feel like I have been stopped at a red light in an intersection waiting for the light to turn green. I just need to stay focused, get on this symbolic freeway, and keep moving forward without being held back by my fears. I want to keep progressing to get closer to my potential.
Hershey's is so much worse. But then Hershey makes Cadbury in the USA so if you love chocolate you just don't eat it. It's the milk and artificial everything that is a poor substitute for taste. I'm to the point where I can barely tolerate anything with less than 60% caraco these days. Unless it's Belgian, Swiss or British made Cadbury.
I had Cadbury in Britain and it was from a totally different world. The stuff was great and didn't make me sick with all the milk and artifical everything.
One second, Bravo. I think the main reason this year's Cadbury batch is disgusting is because Kraft, the parent company that manufactures the eggs in the States switched the recipe for their UK egg products from Dairy Milk to a traditional Cadbury milk chocolate. This year's batch is essentially Cadbury eggs covered in Hershey's chocolate. The recipe in the United States was not effected at all because consumers were already used to buying inferior quality chocolate.
There were even online petitions on this to "Save the Creme Egg" on social media and food reviewers have taken to YouTube to voice their disgust of the new recipe.
Apparently, Oz knows how good quality chocolate should taste versus the cheaper, waxy, tasteless, mass-produced and dull chocolate from the U.S.A.

So they replaced Cadbury chocolate with Hershey's waxy mess. Which is the comparison I was making so the truth is worse than I thought. Gaaak!
No wonder the Cadbury eggs are already discounted. Guess it's just jelly beans this year.
Ah man I used to love cadury eggs as a kid. Now they taste so weird… I wonder if its my adult taste buds or formula. ———— Made the descision for a commerical game. The price for making this game just tripled. I'm talking about out of pocket for a demo. Not what the full game will cost. Whoo.
*cries*
The sad thing? I don't think this is the game thats gonna make it big. I mean crazy things happen, but I think this is just a steady release. My other two games have a way higher chance but they will be quite expensive and another year to make.
@Skullbie: I've seen you talk about funding your game a couple times but I can't remember if you told us what it's about!

I seem to find endless things that I have to resist buying on the internet, but it's surprisingly hard to find specific items sometimes. Or maybe my googling skills just suck. I really wanted this sweatshirt by this cool Tahltan artist in BC, but it doesn't seem like it's going to be stocked again so I'm looking for something similar. Googling "arty grey sweatshirt with black design" doesn't seem very useful.
Anyone know of some good hipstery clothing websites?
Hmm… the artists Ian Miller and also David McNett (wolfbat studios), work in a similar style with lots of close set fine lines, but I think the style of the top is more what you're after… I don't know where to get anything like that specifically.
Yeah, I think I might just forget about trying to find one online and just be on the lookout for something similar from a local artist...Cree/Ojibway art is a little bit different but would still look pretty cool on a sweatshirt I'm sure. Actually, now that I've thought about there are a few stores I could check out locally (one which is adorably called Cree-Ations). Sometimes I forget about buying things in person.
I got anxiety-sick for the first time in a really long time today, and basically lost a whole day of work. Way to be counterproductive mind/body, thanks a bunch. I'm feeling alright now but my head is all fuzzed so I doubt I'll get much of value done.
Hippie, I am sorry to hear about your being sick! – Soo I have become super obsessed with New Girl and The Mindy Project.. and these types of shows just make me want to go out and buy a whole new wardobe and decorate my department and make it look as rad as thier (unrealistically priced) apartments; and go out and have funny advenures with my friends. You know.. and not comic.. or do anything productive.. or any of the things on 2015's to do like. Like update comic weekly.. and not spend money.. and not drink so much.. and not buy so many clothes..and not binge on netflix..and be active..
