I'll put together a list of suggestions before long, hoping to get more suggestions first.

Yeah I think it's worth a sticky as the DD awards are almost prepped.

Excellent suggestions!

For broad themes I'd like to suggest some for the vote(forgive me if I didn't see it already mentioned, I skimmed the posts):

Adventure
Fear
Thriller
Fairytales (could be reimaginings, spoofs, ethnic, urban legends, anything/everything, played straight or subverted, etc, which lend themselves to short formats)

I do like the idea of using dreams as it could be about so much:

A kid going on an adventure through the dreamland to avoid a tooth fairy gone bad.

A mage user talking to his dead wife one last time.

Finding out if electric sheep dream of androids.

It can be combined with many things and still make sense.

A dream theme would be neat. I think I got a down-the-rabbit-hole dreampunk-ish story laying around in my archieve of story ideas.

Here's the suggestions for themes, please drop a comment with your vote.

A. No theme
B. Sci-fi
C. Thriller
D. Dreams
E. History
F. Fairy Tales
G. Greed
H. Adventure
I. Winter special
J. Summer special

Hopefully I didn't miss any suggestions.

I'll tally up votes on the 7th of October.

Once the theme is established we can really hammer down the details however for the moment they stand as follows.

All content submitted content should be original and exclusive for the anthology for 1 year. This is to raise additional funds for the site overhaul after all so let's make it worth a purchase.

There will not be an age rating limit, to allow for adult content two versions will be made available. One with adult content, one without. I guess that's fairly obvious. The adult version will contain all the stories and will cost more as a result but the price will be set accordingly depending on the page count difference. Pricing and where to purchase are yet to be determined.

There is a maximum page limit of 16 pages per story.

There is no minimum, unless you count one page as a minimum. if you make strips and they do not fit the standard page size I'm sure we can work something out.

For consistency please create pages to the dimensions of this page template.

I am voting for Dreams as there is so much to work with.

Just curious, where do I submit the pages?

Well as Merlin said: To some a dream, to others a nightmare!

Dreams.

As it appears my sensational theme idea did not make the cut, even though its literally the first suggestion on the thread (honestly guys, I'm not bitter - the TV set was too close to the window anyway. It was an accident waiting to happen) I'll vote for B instead.

SCI-FI

My bad, added options.

Thanks Genejoke, I wasn't seriously lobbying for inclusion though. I'm still going with sci-fi!

A. No theme
B. Sci-fi
C. Thriller
D. Dreams
E. History
F. Fairy Tales
G. Greed
H. Adventure
I. Winter special
J. Summer special

Going to list my top 3 in order of preference.

1. Dreams (Mainly because I've already written a script for this.)
2. Sci-fi
3. Adventure

I think I've pretty much already stated where my vote lies. But just for clarity. My vote is on Dreams. Because, like I posted before, I have this short story idea that I think would be perfect for a dream themed anthology

Dreams won the vote.

Next steps.

Naturally this is the point where we need to find out who is on board and in what capacity.

Those who are onboard to create content can now begin in earnest now the theme is set.

We need to set a timeline.

Perhaps a cover design contest?

And I'm totally available to illustrate scripts, for free. But I don't colour.

I'm up for doing a story! Don't have an idea yet but will start pondering. And a cover contest sounds good

Let me look through my big stash of story ideas and outlines There's probably something in there that would fit.

That's how it happened last time.

Good to know. Perhaps you could link this thread in your next newspost?

Sounds like a plan, dig those ideas out.

Excellent news. I can colour it if needed, and who knows maybe even provide a script, but should anyone have a script or idea they want to develop then please let us know.
