Rant, Moan and Rave - 2010 edition
Because my internet's retarded…
I had no internet all weekend. A whole three days!!! D:
On Friday…I had chinese and my brother bitched about it cause he "doesn't like" it even though he's never tried it. On Saturday I (more or less) participated in the Dragon Boat Races in Norwich, Conneticut. Not fun. The morning was so scarily stormy…Like deathly looking…Got a bad farmer's tan because as I "participated", I was sitting in the sun all day. Then at the end of Saturday I had my end of the year concert with my Vocal Select group and it was okay. On Sunday we had my little brother's family birthday party and it was boring. In the middle of it I went to the "drama awards" and won best…freshman…and became vice president of club communications. Today the entire chorus toured the elementary schools. All day. That means no class all say. :D
And now my internet's fixed and my dad has put Zune Marketplace on it so I'm all set…if we can remember the password…

Went to the doctor with a sore groin two weeks ago and I have a cyst on the left epididymitis. I didn't go to work last week as I was so sore and needed a Doctor's note, went back to the doctor and he yelled at me for not having gotten an ultrasound of my cyst.
I got the ultrasound today. Why are all ultrasound techs women? I was biting my tongue the whole time to avoid spewing all the very inappropriate humor that kept leaping into my head. Imagine someone pressing and pulling on the most sensitve part of your body and spreading gel on that very sensitive part of the male anatomy. It's not painful, but a constant feeling of discomfort. No I that should be DISCOMFORT
I love the weak embarrased smile the very cute college student trainee observer gave me as I was leaving. I bet she hadn't woken up that morning looking forward to observing the ultrasound of some old guy's scrotum.

That's what life's all about; you never know what you're going to encounter on any given day. Could be the love of your life, or could be some old guys scrotum. In some cases, it could even be both.

Officially started my 14 pager, to be ready by the end of July. It'll be interesting to see how different it looks to my usual style and since it stars a pink gorilla, maybe it qualifies as a furry - I don't know. :dizzy:

Yeah, I could use some "work in the morning" strategy (since I go to bed after work no matter what shift it is, the midnight to 5am becomes my "morning" during the first shifts, and so does 7a to 1pm on second shifts).

You can run over to your local game stop (or pawn store) and get some classic 360 games for like 10 bucks a pop. that's what i normally do for games that i really want, but not willing to front the 60 bucks when they release.
Speaking of which, bioshock should be about that much now….

Sewing fur is so very hard, But I'm making a lot of headway. I've decided I want authentic silver half ball buttons on my Pelisse and Dolman jackets… The trouble is that I need 160 in total. That will cost anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the source, not including postage. Just for buttons.
Crap.
These jackets already cost me a couple of grand… Ah well, it's fun to have a hobby.
Maybe I'll just do one jacket first and leave the other one for a while.

That was my plan. Unfortunately, after a week off on my current pay rate I'm still going to have to wait a while. Not a big deal though since I have other things to deal with besides sitting in front of the tv for hours on end anyway.

well, it's a little known (verry little known) fact that before we rescue someone, they have to pay us 50 bucks up front before we can move em. for liability purposes. but i would totally move ya and letcha pay later!

Passed a few hours in a waiting room…
Apparently, it's kidney stones.
They gave me a nice strong painkiller, told me to drink lots of water and to come back Friday.

Yikes! Hopefully they go away. My father has gallstones. Seeing him in pain from them made me wince… And from then on I stopped eating the really REALLY hot peppers he loved to eat so much. Apparently they had something with him developing them, I think…
Well its finally happened we can't afford the place we are currently renting or to put it in a more accurate way, my mom finally realized that we can't afford it. She lost her job last month and has been trying to get on one of those social programs. She went to a doctor and left messages. Weeks later we get a call back that she has to see another doctor hundreds of miles down south and that she needs to sign up for state disability before they could do anything.
Yeah so my mom is moving in with her boyfriend, a nice fellow, and I hopefully will move in with some friends. This will be my first outing in the world without a family member. I have a job and can pay my part of the rent and buy my share of the food. It will only be until the Fall semester starts.
So I'm going to be alright but I hate this. All my life it has felt that I started out poor and have just become poorer over time. I hate this fucking life. For once I'd love to live a comfortable life. All this time living from pay check to pay check. Deciding what bills need to be paid and which one we can put off.
All I want is to complete my education so I can get a job I want to do and can give me a decent salary. But doing that is going to put me in debt. I hate this D:<
So I have to go to the doctor on super short notice; "We need to schedule an MRI now!" And there is this stunning Korean woman in one of those wrap dresses next to a 50-60-ish guy trying to schedule her naturalization physical. One nurse is saying they need your SSN to do one, well wait she isn't a citizen… I figure they just came from court and my first thought is "Trophy wife or Mail-order bride?" Then I hear her near-perfect English and I realize it could also be his daughter that can finally become a citizen.
He was acting more like her father than her husband or maybe my first impression was right and that is one lucky guy.

It's kinda funny but I know a guy with the opposite. He was twice married and divorced to Japanese women.

Today's the 9th. Tomorrow, money should magically appear in my bank account, the meager earnings from the first week of work… although with the added bonus of working Saturday and the training day that we had 2-3 months before, so it'll be a little bit more. Hopefully I can pay off some of the borrowed money, buy new shoes and pants (especially shoes cause they're simply falling apart), maybe if I'm lucky, I can snag a nice tshirt too… then a cheapo dvd burner so I can do backups again and the rest will go for tickets and food… hopefully!
Meanwhile, the heatwave starts!
Edit: Looks like the first giant wave of the flood passed on without any minor damage. Here and there there's some water seeping through the ground into people's basements, but the "walls" along the rivers have held so far.
There's a bit of worry that the second, smaller wave might cause damage for these walls are soaked with water at this point, but they're more likely to hold than not.
