heh… if I ever got myself a laptop, I'd also go for an external USB drive for data storage. Too bad I can't think of any good reason why I'd need a laptop now… :(
I hardly buy anything I want unless I also have a need for it. Otherwise it'll just clutter up my place and not get used much.
Great… now I'm tempted to find an old movie I watched as a kid called "Superfuzz". The source of that guy's superpowers are still a mystery to me… Either that or the other movie about the Gods being crazy…

Rant, Moan and Rave - 2010 edition
Alwin: What specifically isn't TF2 compliant with? I did that site too and I hit basic standards for most qualifications except graphics. I can't change vid cards in my comp so I wound up buying 2 RAM cartridges to help out.
TF2 is a VERY fussy program to get going. I still run mine with a special config modification I found to get it to run smoothly. It's not perfect, but it's mostly functional. I just can't justify shelling out several hundred dollars or more to run a $20 game, especially when I was able to run WoW just fine.
I love the newbies showing up. I wish them no ill will, but MAN, it's great to play Spy when everyone isn't hyper paranoid and spamming random walls. Yet. I actually made MVP on CP_Well the other night.
Well well well, a third working Saturday in a row…
Yesterday we found three palets full of tv sets (I'd say 50 per each) with the tape saying BLOCKED wrapped around them.
Why? Oh, no reason… other than some idiot packed SIX HUNDRED TV SETS the wrong way around… argh.
So our leader had to run aroudn the hall like a madman and pick up people from other lines that they could afford to spare just to unpack these three and check if they were fine or not (they mostly were so phew, no repackaging 600 sets for us!)
I've spent the entire day with batteries. See, when the remotes arrive to these specific sets, they have batteries taped at the bottom, whereas they should be stuck to the tip/front. So… cut the tape holding the batteries, peel them off, put on a sticker with the barcode (so that it can be scanned by the person packing the accessories into the box), stick batteries with tape on the top. Repeat about 800 times. Oh well, it wasn't so bad, at least that part of the hall is less noisy. :D
In other news… MY FIRST PAYCHECK ARRIVED! YAY!
It wasn't as bad as I feared it was so at this point I have returned most of the money I owed (there's 2-3 people left), got a new pair of pants, ordered a nice new tshirt, a dvd burner… and monday I'm buying a monthly bus ticket, yay. (will save on tickets about third this way). Now I just need to buy… hmm… some more tshirts? And save the rest for food…
I really wish I was in Sea Isle with my friend (as if I were invited, haha) right now instead of being my mother's personal punching bag for her stress over my sister's graduation party. Now I have to deal with my trashy extended family, too. Complete with my uncle and his home-wrecker, my aunt and her four out of control children, and I'm sure more people I'll be expected to be nice to even though I have nothing but bad feelings toward. The only thing that makes this okay is that there's good food, but God knows somehow I'll get yelled at for eating it. I already got yelled at for crying, but that's nothing new. And they wonder why I have difficulty expressing my emotions when I'm upset…

It loads the server, but it freezes up on the screen that shows the how to play the gamemode projection. And I can't get out of it, because it ends up crashing my entire computer.
I think the kidney stones are gone, but my back and abdomen are still pretty sore. I hope the pain goes away soon, because I only have one day of prescription pain killers left.
Other than that, I'm in good spirits. I had a lot to get done at work today, and I got it all done and did a great job with it too, if I do say so myself. :) Now I can go home and play with my kittens. Oh, I've also gotten over a long stint of writer/artist block, so I feel really super productive. (Maybe those stones were made of angst… XD )
I found a a carton of condensed milk in the cupboard that was six years past its use by date. I opened it up and it was all gluggy and brown inside, like caramel, or rally old yucky puss.
Anyway… it sort of smell ok, so I tasted it. It tasted ultra-sweet, with a hint of caramel and another hit of mold.
So I had a few more spoonfuls just to keep on testing…
And I thought I was bad. As a child I used to eat Chinese Siopao (meat bun, I think) whole… including the WAX PAPER!!! Well, that was tasty wax paper. Never got sick from it though.
Had to stop eating the things recently though. It was reported in the newspaper that most of the buns coming from China were stuffed with very toxic cardboard. X_X

That used to happened to me as well. But then I got another laptop. BOOM.
And so I decided to go online, and it's pretty good. Dominated a lot of people with my level 3 sentry gun. But oh, those pesky spies. And then I got disconnected. :/ I think they were sapping my connection.
Alwin: Hrm. Do you have any modified config settings at work, maybe? I know when Steam updated to that new version, things got a bit more wonky, but I don't know what the time frame is here. I've heard of your problem, though… pretty sure there's been some response online, although you might have to dig about on google.

It was strange though. The walls and floors were all inverted colors.

It had crazy fps lag. And this was all with the config settings at low on everything. And I updated it.
So I've decided… from the next paycheck (which should be the first full paycheck) I'll buy a "temporary pc". I've seen a bunch of sets that are better than mine and cost less than 100$ for a supposedly "slightly used" pc. They all suck in graphic power and hd space, but I can always toss in my 160gb next to the standard 80gb installed and I don't really need games at this point so yeah, whatever.
That'll make a nice work pc, meanwhile I'll be able to save up money in peace and assemble some really strong box made from top parts so that it holds another five or six years before the need to upgrade again :D
Speaking of work, first shift today and I'm not feeling all that well plus I have no food. Luckily, there's a 24h supermarket 15 minutes walk away from me, so all I have to do is leave to work about 45 minutes earlier and it'll give me enough time to buy some aspirin or something (and food! don't forget food!)
Meanwhile the first paycheck is nearly gone, heh. Well, I still have enough left to buy me a monthly bus ticket, a cheap pair of shoes and some food for a while, but that's it. I've ordered a tshirt, a pair of high heels, a cheap dvd burner, bought new pants, shampoo, conditioner, a stack of sweets and food, paid back most of the money I owed… and that's that!
Next paycheck should be more than twice that, but almost half of it will be swallowed by bills. Hmm.

The surgery on my personal transportation device is complete. Didn't cost me as much as I thought it would, though.
Replacing the brake cylinder seals on my drum brakes was easy. But it did take some effort. First I had to take the tire off. Then I had to summon all the superhuman strength I had to rip the drum off the hub. Then the easy part… pulling out the old brake pistons and installing the new ones. Then I had to carefully piece together everything that I had ripped apart, shoved the drum back onto the hub, and finally put the tire back on.
Now I can sleep knowing my brakes won't leak anymore. :)
It just happened. I posted a comic up, and it disappeared from the "just in" list and all the other comics that were there already were still there, along with some new ones! It pisses me off from here to beyond! My poor little comic has no chance today.Grrrr! I know this is probably an over rated topic, but I'm in the mood for ranting. This is the place to do it, right? But the good news is that, my being an inexperienced driver, I drove at night to a far away place by myself. It made me really happy =)

This is why I post late. If I relied on the "autoposting" feature of DD, my comic would never grace the front page due to all the other comics updating at that exact same time. Well… that's one reason I post late. The other being that I draw the comic on that very same day/night that I post it. :)
