I've been suffering insomnia recently. It's been I'm going days on end without a properly sleeping. I've had many of insomnia before but nothing like this, I normally flake out eventually but that's not happening at the moment. The joys. I've managed to get a fair few comic pages made and ploughed through a fair bit of Netflix.

Meanwhile, I'm sleeping my life away - like up to 11 hours (in bits).

Same here. It's partly escapism, because I don't have to deal with anything if I'm sleeping, the massive weather changes we've been getting this year (70°F to 30°F and back again) and that all my medications say "may make you drowsy "

So all I can do is sleep.

And that way I don't have to work on my comic.

I got these back from my inker before he gives me the final product. Just been working on this since December for those who wanted to see my progress.

I got official word that my EOD date is now June 21st. It's been pushed back twice, and I no longer receive unemployment payments, so I am really hoping it stays solid. My mom offered to pay my July mortgage for me. (Luckily, my parents are in a decent financial situation since they sold their old house.)

My supervisor told me that work is going to start out with training and no public interaction, hoping to open the visitor center in July. He also told me my duties will be altered to minimize exposure with the public. (Most of our visitors are 60+ years old.) I might be doing videos and web content this summer instead of tours and touch tables.

My supervisor gave us a poll to see whether or not if we would like to go back to the office or work from home.

Everyone says work from home lol.

What was that?

Oh that was May.

All I felt was the change in the weather from wet as rain to wet as humidity. Every day it's cold in the morning and nice in the afternoon and then its soaked and drizzling in the morning to stuffy and warm in the afternoon and Summer is on it's way.

Poof, we're halfway through 2020.

We might make it yet. Now if only the 24 hour news media would stop making anthills into the Himalayas I'd be fine.

The 24 hour news media's job is not to inform or advise the public; its job is to keep you watching. So you get 24 hours of wall-to-wall paranoia porn, rage porn, conspiracy porn. Not fit for human consumption.

Yup, stay scared, stay tuned. Then stick around for the story of a man who farted helium and gave his household silly voices.

I sincerely hope the USA elects some competent leadership soon :(
China is flexing it's balls and we really need some sort of strong buffer before things go crazy.
The republic of Trumpmenistan just isn't up to the job.

I'm afraid Trumpenistan is the best that'll be available, at least for the next four years. Given how loud the opposition Democrats bark every time President Trump so much as utters a disparaging word about China, it's hard to imagine their candidate being any kind of an impediment to Chinese hegemony.

So, get used to the ball flexing, I guess? What do you have against balls, Ozone?

Current mood: 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

But do you know what feels nice? Taking extended breaks off the Internet.

The Internet providers should take note, they are the ones currently holding a ton of power.

So unplug, log-off, step away, and for goodness sakes regain perspective without any outside outlet telling you how to feel.

My cat's stomatitis has not responded to treatments, so he's getting most of his teeth removed next month. -_- I almost managed to pay off vet debt from last year. Hahahahaha. Ugh.

Vet says tooth extraction isn't a guarantee. He could end up with no teeth and still have horrible inflammation. But surgery has the better success rate, so we'll try.

@usedbooks, I completely feel for you and your pet. My family just lost our first pet Cat on Wednesday to old age and it was terribly sad, especially during the last few months. It is good you have a financial support system in place with your family, but based on your posts on here, it is evident that you really love and care about your cat. I am hoping for many, many more months together for you both. ❣️

My girlfriend and I have broken up :(
We were together for almost a year…
It hurts, but it's probably for the best. Our personalities and habits didn't match very well.

My stomatitis kitty Zen is just a year old, but the research says removing his teeth will give him the best chance of helping him with little to no ongoing treatment.

I adopted him from a shelter as a kitten last year. The vet said they usually see older cats with this condition. A facebook friend noticed his gums were red in a photo, so I took him to the vet. The good news is we caught it early, before it can really affect his life. Usually by the time cats get seen for this, they are struggling to eat and groom themselves. My Zen's only real symptom is licking his lips a lot.

(I have an older cat, Lily. She has a heart condition with no symptoms except an extremely obvious murmur that makes vets cringe. She is really quite healthy.)

@usedbooks—-Oh wow! I thought you were talking about Lily! Would the teeth removal be a permanent fix for the young cat or will new teeth grow in its place? (Like permanent teeth after baby teeth fall out) It seemed that hard foods were nearly impossible for the family’s cat to chew towards the final days, so I blended up a smoothie of Max cat food and temptations with water, and the cat ate it. It looks like soft food will be the way to go for your little guy.

@ozoneocean—-I am sorry, it sucks when a relationship ends of any sort (romantic and friendship). The important thing to think about is whether the relationship helped teach you more about yourself as an individual. Being with another person for one year can introduce a new point-of-view, new mannerisms, or highlight traits about yourself you never seemed to notice on your own. Just remember you deserve someone who treats you with Love, Kindness, and Respect. More specifically, a person with family-centered values, a keen eye and an appreciation for the arts and vintage couture, and someone who sees your natural leadership abilities would be a great addition to your life.

Ending a relationship is painful. There is no way around it. But one thing you can do is think back to the way you felt when relationships ended when you first started dating, and how much more painful those might have felt, and realize that the heart does fortify itself over and over when it breaks and makes you better equip the next time you open yourself up to another person.

@kawaii: These are his adult teeth. The procedure would remove all the molars and premolars. In 60% of cases, cats have no more inflammation issues after surgery, so I'm hoping odds favor him.

Other treatment options have lower success rates, more side effects, and are ongoing for life. He has not responded to the initial treatments of antibiotics, daily brushing, and steroid injections.

The condition is basically an auto-immune disease (sometimes associated with FIV, but Zen tested negative for that). It is a severe reaction to dental plaque, which can extend to an immune reaction to their own teeth. The back teeth are most affected, so removing those can go a long way to fixing the issue.

Zen won't eat wet food. I think it hurts his gums. But cats don't chew even dry food much, and my cats get small kibbles. It won't affect his life much after he heals.

I started posting on an Autism forum. Not that I've ever showed it for the most part, but I'm on the spectrum and I've had some struggles with it lately, so I wanted to find a community of people like myself.
